Chapter 2: Proposal In Doubt
I turn back when someone called my name.
"Rob??? right!!! Yeeaaahhh... Oh man, I didn't recognize you. It's been a long time. You have changed completely. How are you doing?", Arica asked as if she didn't notice me in the dining.
"Oh Hi Arica!! I'm doing fine. Yeah, its really been very long seeing you. What about y...??", I was about to give the answer, her phone starts ringing.
"Sorry Rob, I will meet you again. I need to leave now", saying that she left.
Really this sucks. I mean how can she hang up on me while I was still talking to her. Though I don't like to talk with her at least I tried to and at most, she needs to respect that.
I became furious and I left with Jane to drop her off.
*On the other side*
* WRITER," Now I'm going to introduce a different phase. I think you have learned a lot about our ROB till now. Now its time you get to know about ARICA. So keep reading."*
*Intro of Arica*
I went to the apartment to unpack my things. While unpacking, I suddenly saw a box in my luggage and remembered what happened last night.
[The day before coming home]
"Everyone has one person in the life whom you love to death. I mean everyone has a person they love so much, more than the limit of the sky. Yes, I too have a person whom I love a lot. You might be scratching your heads thinking who is it. Your all guesses are wrong. The person I love the most in this world is 'ME'. Haha, didn't expect this answer right. Yes, I love myself a lot and always try to stand beyond the expectations set by me."
I'm not a selfish person, but I give more importance to me and my decisions because I have always followed a quote saying "There is only one person who stays with you from the start till the end. That is you. So take good care of yourself."
Many might already be guessing that I'm very much proud and you already know that I'm beautiful, So you might be in a conclusion that I'm a rich spoiled brat. Yes, I'm a rich spoiled brat, but that is because I'm too lazy to do my work. But I don't think, you have come to the conclusion that I'm just a 'Beauty with no Brains'. Many of them see me like that. If you have come to that conclusion then you are wrong. I might not look like a sophisticated study kid, but I'm the topper of my B-School since the start. Everyone calls me 'BWB'. Beauty with Brains.
Okay. I might have given a lot of introduction about me, but I'm already late. I need to finish my packing in an hour, to catch up on the flight.
After my packing, I was about to leave for dinner, I got a message saying, "Meet me RoofTop Restaurant in 15 minutes."
I reached there and found myself in a surprise. I didn't expect all our group Fantastic Five would be here to give me send off.
Fantastic Five, also known as F5, is our group of five. We are three girls and two boys. We all are from different majors except two of us.
[Details of F5]
Arica: Final year of Business school. The topper of her batch. On the race of becoming the next Chairman of DesireLife. She only cares about herself and does things only when she feels to do. She leads a care-free life without having any regrets.
Kevin: Final year of Business school. Best Friend of Arica. The hottest and most popular guy in the school. Sweet to F5 but arrogant to others. Always stands for his friends. After completion of his graduation, he is going to take up his dad's company, LifeMo, which is associated with DesireLife.
Nicole: Majoring in Music. Can play almost all instruments. Aims to play in Opera as a lead musician. She is a beauty but no brains. All her friends call her Snail because she is the slowest in understanding the things.
Suzy: She is a model of our group, but major in Art. She is an emerging artist who aims to open her own gallery. She is the most desired girl of her major, but she doesn't give a damn. Once she starts on with a painting, she forgets the complete world.
Last but not least,
Peter: He is a tech genius of our group, major in Computer Science. There is no such thing, that he can never hack. His laptop is his best friend and the reason he survives. He might be strange to others, but he is the best we have.
So this is all about our F5. We are friends for seven years. Yes, I feel very happy to come here and meet these people. If I would not have given a thought of coming here, I would have lost these precious people. Though I was far away from home, these people did not even give time to think and miss my home and family.
[Back at Restaurant]
I'm very happy to see them all before leaving. Its a great refreshment for all the memories we had past these years. I'm going to miss them a lot.
Suddenly the lights went out and light music was turned on. A group of ten people holding candles entered into the hall and the least expected thing happened in my life.
Kevin was coming towards us. I was shocked because, before the lights were off he was sitting with us. He is holding a bouquet of red roses and came to me.
He starts saying, " I never thought that I would meet a person with whom I can cherish every moment in my life. Arica, you are the one I wanted to find, just to tell you that you are all I need in my life. You're the only one that exists in my world. Everything I do is just to see a smile on your face. You taught me the real meaning of love, Arica. I love you not only for what you are but for what I am when I am with you. So will you be my love?"
I never thought I would be getting a proposal from my best buddy. I have always seen him as a friend. But it hurts me more, because neither I can accept him or reject him. Though, I don't like keeping people blindfolded. Even if the truth hurts you need to tell them.
"I cherish every moment I have spent with you guys. You have never let me feel lonely. Kevin, I have always thought of you as my bes....". Kevin interrupts me, " I know you have always thought of me as your best buddy, but at least give me a fair chance to show you my feelings. I liked you since the day I have seen you. It took these many years for me to gather my courage and confess my feelings to you."
Since childhood, I'm a very precise person. Once I decide on something in it never changes and I can't give fake expectations to people just for making them temporarily happy. Either I love that person or hate that person, but I never hang in between.
This proposal had converted all my thoughts into doubts. " What answer can I give? What answer should I give?", all these thoughts were revolving in my mind.
Finally, I have decided what I need to say.
