Chapter 7: The Flaming Tigers

I got up and left the hotel I entered last night. I had decided to just buy the building from the manager. After a bit of haggling (just for the fun of watching his reactions), he sold it to me for 5 million commas. The place wasn't bad with 5 stories and over 1,000 rooms. I kicked all the current residents out but gave them each compensation so they wouldn't waste my time (arguing or in court, that didn't seem fun). Of course I didn't need a hotel/house but I realized that people would look down on me if I didn't and I hated being looked down on. I had considered making my own, but I had decided to use my powers less. I would limit myself to making coins to purchase items and no more than 2 uses a day.

To start my day off, I traveled to "Kery's Park of Amusement". It was a popular attraction in Kinds. Walking through the streets, I watched mortals set up stalls and prepare to sell their products. Since this area was closer to the Baron's castle, the streets were much cleaner and there weren't stragglers on the streets begging for coins. When I arrived at the gate to enter Kery's, I saw that there was a lock on it.

'Hmm, is it not 11:00 yet?' I pondered. My memories told me that this place opened at 11:00 on Fridays, and I definitely saw it was 11:00 before leaving the hotel. 'Is it Friday?' The last person's mind who I read was the mage called Eric and he thought it was Friday. 'Oh wait!' I thought. 'Isn't today the next day because the sun has come up again? Then it's Saturday.' Kery's opened at 12:00 on Saturdays. 'What should I do for the next hour?'

Meanwhile

"Hello? This is the Kind's branch of the mage guild. How can I be of help to you today?" Eric asked, talking into his communication disk.

"This is Ingall"

"Sir! How have you been?" Eric started panicking realizing that his superior was on the other side. Not only was Ingall a level 400 mage, he was the director of the mage guild in the capital of the Orcan Empire. Eric had distaste and hate for this figure, but he couldn't wait to kiss up and get a raise. Recently he had saw a beautiful "hormone relief" doll that he was itching to buy. It came with so many functions and details such as realistic skin and hair texture, great smell, could make 'sounds'[ ;) ]and even moved by itself! It was large where he wanted it and tight where he wanted it. It was limited edition though and would cost him a large sum that he couldn't afford at the time.

"Recently, I have sensed a great power in your vicinity. Checking with other experts and the enometer, we believe that the power level belongs to at least a level 1,000. We feel that the situation could be very dangerous. Have you noticed any strange incidents in your area or know the cause of the great power?"

Eric started sweating. Of course he knew what it was. But should he tell him? On one hand is the man who controls his salary and his job. While on the other is a godly figure who could kill him with ease. Though Yamake did promise to make him his disciple, Eric had no proof if he really would. If Yamake refused, Eric wouldn't be able to argue back due to the difference in power (and therefore social standing). Deciding that his life was more valuable than his job, money or the "hormone relief " doll, he said,"No sir, my apologies for not knowing. From now on I will dedicate all my resources and time, on the job or in my personal time to find out for you."

On the other side, Ingall smiled. He thought that he had complete control over Eric and didn't question his words. Ingall was very vain.

"Alright then, I'll be coming over in 3 days to investigate."

"Yes sir, we will be eagerly awaiting for your arrival."

Ingall hung up and chuckled. He planned to just go tomorrow to surprise him and hopefully catch him doing something improper to blackmail him with.

I wandered around the central marketplace. Most shops and stalls here were already open and it was already crowded. People were selling food, magic amulets, staffs, parts of creatures, potions and much more. The things sold here usually weren't of high class like the shop the sold me the wind arrow. The powerful shops all placed themselves around the guilds and the castle (which is in the center of the city), not in a public square. This area was closer to the slums and occasionally, kids would run up to me and ask for money. Seeing their torn clothes and dirty faces, I didn't feel sympathetic at all. It was how this world operated, so why would I go out of my way to change it? I knew that is I gave one person, then the rest would come for me too. But if I didn't do anything, others would still come up to me. So, I chose a stronger looking kid, slipped him a commaand told him to keep the others away. He immediately accepted.

I had great interest in every magical relayed thing. Like how did a blacksmith manipulate the elements into the sword to enchant it? I planned to buy some of the magic items at a later date, but not from here. Everyone knew that there were fake products here that looked real but where actually useless. I knew that I shouldn't be overconfident. I had to true fully admit that I couldn't tell the difference. Of course the money that I paid for a fake item wasn't worth anything to me, but I couldn't stand the thought of me being tricked by a mere mortal. Just the idea hurt my pride, so I decided to go to the popular and safe shops later. The food also didn't interest me since I didn't need to eat. "The why are you here?!" You may be asking. The truth was that I was looking for Lucifer to see how his business was doing. I glanced around and saw the familiar face. I walked over smiling.

*Ow!* I heard and looked down. The man on the ground had a strong build with his clearly defined muscles showing through his windbreaker. He was 6 feet tall with menace showing from his eyes. He was the one who just tried so shove me with his shoulder nonchalantly while walking by. He did it so naturally that if I hadn't seen the slightest of smirks on his face, I would have thought it was a accident. But sadly for him, I did. Just before impact, I teleported nanometers away from his shoulders to make it look natural and forced the ground under him. To jerk to the side making him fall. He looked up at me confused about how he was on the ground when I looked so weak. Even though my build was equal or even greater than his, he couldn't tell because of the baggy clothes that Lucifer had given me.

I smirked at him causing him to turn read with rage. He jumped up and punched me. It was obvious from his reflexes and how smooth his motions were that he was a experienced fighter. The only problem was that all of his movements seemed slow to me. I just jerked the ground again, and this time he fell on his face. He got up again and rushed forward to tackle me. Once again he fell. Realizing he stood no chance he said "The Flaming Tigers are out for you now, watch your back." And ran away. I tripped him every 10 feet he ran. A small crowd had formed and to laugh at him.

'I'll pay a visit to him soon. How dare he threaten me.' I thought.
