Chapter 3: You just need one momment...
His name is Jorrey and he was the guy that completely messed up Jarick's personality…
As she looked at Jorrey and then Jarick she could feel how different their vibes where. Jorrey was relaxed while Jarick was super angry. She did not know what to do…
The only thing she could think of was of a way how she can get them out of their little staring contest and the only thing that popped up in her head was put her hand in front of their faces. At first, she was hesitant but thought to herself that this is the only way I can break them apart, so in she went for it. She took a few steps closer to them and she could feel the atmosphere thicken with each step she takes. Finally, she was close enough, she stretched her thin arms out with each of her palm's covering their eyes.
They noticed her hand suddenly pop up in front of their faces, they traced her hand to her arm and then to her face. At that moment she found two confused tall males looking at her. They both just completely stared at her, she could feel with each passing second that their eyes were on her, she could feel her legs going numb. Suddenly her knees gave in, she noticed the ground getting closer and closer, she could feel gravity pulling her. As she braces to fall, she feels a muscular arm wrap around her waist… She slowly opens her eyes to find that she did not fall but was in a guy's embrace. She looks up her gaze meats his and his gaze meets her, at that moment it felt to her as if it was only them there nobody else. Jarick the person who catches her was so surprised by how light she was, he noticed her staring at him with a pair of eyes he has never seen someone stared at him with before.
She softly whispered; "Thank you…"
He replies with a soft tone of voice; "It is a pleasure."
Meanwhile everybody else in at the restaurant witnessed this magical scene that was occurring right in front of their eyes. They were all so drawn into everything nobody realised anything until they ended it. Slowly Jarick releases her and make sure that she was now stable on her feet again before taking his cup of take away coffee and returning to his car with his arm over his face covering his tomato like cheeks.
As he walks away, she realises what happened and her face also turned red from ear to ear. In the meantime, Jorrey was processing what happened and realised that Jarick walked away, quickly he runs out f the store to catch him but when he got to Jarick he saw his blushing face and grinned maliciously while saying; "Oh, I see. This is going to be fun. Just like old times."
After finally calming down in the car and processing what happened he turned to his thoughts
-How did I get to her in time, it all happened so fast and why is she so tiny. I held her small and fragile body in my arms… It all happened so fast. I have no words. How does she know him, him of all people I thought I would never meet him again? Why here and why now. That bastard! -
Pace fully he returns to reality before noticing the time
"I need to go…." He says as he starts his car and puts it into gear before returning to his road trip to the university.
'Ring ring ring' he hears his phone ringing, notices that it is his mom and picks it up.
"Hi darling"
"Hi mom, I forgot to call…" he says as he puts her on speaker.
"No that is okay. Are you there yet? Are you okay? Have you stretched? Have you ea…" before his mom could go on a ramble, he put a spot to it.
"Mom I am almost there, and I just ate. I will call you when I get there." He says quickly
"Okay, drive safe bye. I love you." She says to him with a caring and motherly tone of voice.
"Love you, Bye" He says quickly before hanging up, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Ssh" He sticks out his tongue like a snake because the coffee was still hot. He sits in the quiet car frustrated at himself because he burnt his tongue. It is so quiet in his car no music nothing, it is so soft you can hear needle fall.
A few hours later he finally arrives at the university. He applied for one of the top universities in Australia and got accepted. The campus is very green and lively with a lot of fresh meat, new people, the buildings is quite old, and they have a very big library which is unusual in today's society. As he got out of his car, he saw a big sign saying, 'Freshman sign-up here'.
He walks towards the sign to sign-in and hears a positive voice at the end of the table; "Hello fresh meat. Welcome to our campus"
He looks at her and just stare at her with no response. She just ignored his response and continued; "My name is Linzie. I am single, very single and you look like my type" she says this to him while putting her arm around him.
Another girl holding the sign-up sheet also starts getting involved and says; "Leave him alone, you..." Before she could finish her sentence they both noticed his gesture and facial expression. Jarick took Linzie's arm with his two fingers, as if he was picking up rubbish, gives her a cold death stare which sends shivers down her spine. He says coldly with no expression on his face;
"No need I am not interested, and you are certainly not my type."
This left all the people at the table flabbergasted, they did not know what to do or how to react, they just stared at him.
Linzie looked at him with a moody face; "How dare you s…" but before she could finish her sentence, he walked right past her, sighed up and walked away so that he can stretch his legs.
Some time went by before he decides that it is time for him to go to his apartment. In the end he decided to live in an apartment and not on campus because it will be too load for his liking. The apartment he is living in is a modern open space. The apartment complex is mainly popular among university students. As he drove into the parking lot area of the apartment complex, he saw someone else is also moving in. When he got to his apartment, he saw that the person was moving in right next to him. He probably went up the stairs five times before having all his stuff moved from his car to the apartment. His apartment is already furnished because his mom and himself organised that before he came. His apartment is not anything fancy, but it is still a decent place it has one bathroom, one bedroom and all the other needs of an apartment. As he sat down to rest, he observed his new place and stared to make plans on where to put his stuff and what he will be eating tonight. Finally, he got the courage to start unpacking and he also remembered that he needs to call his mom, but in the end, he decided he will just send her a text message and a picture of his apartment to make her feel at ease. He got busy taking his stuff out of his bags, packing it into the closet and turning to his thoughts…
-After I unpack, I need to go to the reception to ask them for the mailbox keys and then eat because I am so hungry. I might sleep early tonight and maybe if I have time watch a movie. Tomorrow I must go to the store so that I can buy some groceries for the house. -
He searches for his house keys so he can go to the reception, after such a long search he found his keys and unlocked the door. As he stepped out of his apartment, he heard a familiar voice and turned around. He sees the girl from the cafe diligently directing the moving people where to put her things and unconsciously he says; "It is you"
She looks up and to her surprise it is the handsome guy from earlier; "It is you. Why are you here?"
He looks at her blinks his eyes a few times to see if it really is her and says; "I just moved because I am attending university nearby and you?"
She stares at him and starts to laugh; "Same here, I am also attending university nearby. What a coincidence."
They look at each other for a minute before he breaks it off and says; "Well then, see you later" She nods just before he walks away, smiles and looks at him as he disappears down the stairs.
After he returns, he takes a quick look to see if she is till there, but it seemed like she was all done. He went back inside and decided to just watch a movie. While he had time, he decided to watch another movie and he ended up watching two movies that is action related and just as he started to watch his third movie, he heard a soft knock on the door. When he opened the door it was her, he was quite surprised and suddenly blurted out;
"Can I help?"
She looked up at him, nervously rubbing her fingers against each other and looking down a few times, before she scrapped the courage together to ask him; "Sorry to bother, but I was wondering… um I made to much dinner for myself and was wondering if you would like to have some?"
He stared at her blankly thinking what he should do, and he suddenly smelled a very delicious smell. He looked at how cutely nervous she was and blurted out; "Yes please"
She looked at him surprised and said; "Okay"
As she walked to her apartment he shortly followed, when he got to her apartment it was so pretty and colourful
As he walked through, he apartment he said; "You have a nice apartment. Do you like it"
"Yes, it is very nice. Do you like yours?"
He replies with a nod as she indicates to him where he could sit. He smelt this very nice aroma from the food in her apartment and he was so excited to taste her food. After a while she brings out the food, it is beef lasagne.
She says as she places one plate in front of him and the other on her side of the table; "Here you go hope you enjoy"
She anxiously waits for him to take a bite and tell her what he thinks. He uses his knife and cuts himself a piece to eat. After he took a bite his eyes light up from delight; "This is good"
She stares at him and giggles to herself; "thank you, you are so cute."
He looks at how much she is glowing from a complement from him.
"I have not really introduced myself. My name is Lexie Davidson and I am 19 years old. Nice to meet you."
He looks at her as she held out her hand, he held his hand out and says; "My name is Jarick King I am 19 years old as well. Nice to meet you too" He shakes her hand and he notices that she is blushing. They stared at each other before continuing eating.
After a long time, they finally finished eating and he says: "Can I help you dish up the dishes?"
"no that is fine, I can do it." She says as she walks him out.
As he stands outside her room he says; "Thank you that was good."
"I am glad you enjoyed it" rubbing her fingers nervously together she says; "We should do again…" She looks up at him.
He nods and they say their farewells
He says; "Goodnight"
She says; "Goodnight"
He suddenly felt the urge to give her a big hug, she felt the urge to give him a big bug. They both together at the same time turned around and gave each other a big hug. For a few minutes they where glued in each other's embrace before releasing. As they slowly released, they noticed each other's blushing face…
They both apologies at the same time before both saying: "I just felt the urge to hug you…"
