Chapter 5: To The Rescue

The dripping sound right next to his ear and the subtle swaying of his body becomes the only comfort Ian has as a prisoner of the goblins. He woke up to what appeared to be a goblin chief poking him with a stick. Ian has lost a lot of blood and is struggling to stay conscious.

'I'm in some deep shit right now. I hope Markus and the others come soon.'

Back in the forest...

"We need to go get Ian now!!"

"I'm not saying we aren't going to get him, I'm saying we need a plan. Ian tried to go on his own and look where it got him."

"What if we just set the fence on fire? Wouldn't it cause the goblins to run out of camp?"

"Yeah, but it could also burn down the camp and kill Ian."

"Wow, you know for how smart you are, that was a really dumb idea."

"You know what, I don't see you coming up with a better plan?"

"I say we just leave him, he can't do much anyways."

Everyone looked at Zoe with shocked expressions on their faces. Before anyone realized what happened, Rose wound back her arm and punched Zoe dead in the face. Blood started to flow from Zoe's face like Niagara Falls.

"What the fuck Rose!!!!!"

Rose grabbed the collar of Zoe's shirt and pulled her close.

"If you say those words again about leaving Ian behind, I will shove my staff up your twat and cast a spell that will blow your womb back to Earth."

Zoe had been face to face with some scary people in her life, but Rose beat out all of them.

"I suggest that Zoe goes around the perimeter with me and Alice. Markus, Derek and the guard detail will bust through the main gate to clear a path. We will go into the camp and I'll go with Derek to look for Ian while Alice and Zoe provide support for Markus and guards. Sound like a good plan?"

"It's better than anything we've come up with so far. The only problem I see is that you won't have much protection. I think Zoe should go with you guys and that way if goblins try to attack you then you have someone who can at least provide more damage dealing."

"Fine, the trouble making, hoe bag can come with me and Derek."

"Alright, let's go save Ian."

Back at the camp...

Ian managed to cut himself free from his restraints as the goblins only used old cloth to bind his hands and he had put a knife in his boot. The goblins didn't seem to care as though they knew that he would do that. The holding cell Ian was in was made out of metal so the goblins were either smarter than they seemed or someone was pulling the strings. There was also the massive creature that carried Ian into the camp. He saw it standing guard when he woke up and had a few guesses on what it was. Based off of his meta knowledge of how goblins worked, he assumed that the large creature was either an ogre, a troll, or a hobgoblin.

The thing that caught Ian's attention was when the goblin guards and the large creature all bowed to a mysteriously cloaked figure that walked into the make shift prison. The figure walked over to Ian's cell and removed its hood. The face of the figure was furry with long whiskers and looked like a tiger.

"Greetings mortal, it seems you have stumbled upon our little base way out here. I know what you're probably thinking. How is a tiger talking to me right now? Well, that is because I am, of course, a ___"

"You're a rakshasa. That's not really a surprise to me. I know of your kind. You're very evil beings that are insanely powerful. What is your name, mine's Ian."

"You can call me Silva, I am currently here as an ambassador for the Demon Kingdom of Fraxith. My queen, Lilith, has sent me to observe the heroes and see what they are capable of."

"Oh, that makes sense. Let me guess, you're not very impressed."

"No, I am impressed. Your friends on the ridge were far to easy find, but you knew about me before I introduced myself."

"So now what? Are you going to try and take me back to Fraxith so I can prostrate myself in front of your queen?"

"That is not why I am here. I am here to observe the heroes and attempt to make an alliance between the demons and the humans."

"That sounds much harder than just taking me back to the land of the demons. Also, what's with the goblins? Why use goblins and not demons?"

"Goblins are more native to the land of man versus demons. Also, I am a diplomat not a general. If I were to bring a small group of demons with me then King Leon would think I'm trying to invade. I can't have that now can I?"

"What do you need me for then?"

"You, young man, are my ticket to an audience with the King and can prevent your friends from dying while trying to kill me."

"Alright then, let's go get them. I'll sort out all of the details and make sure they know what is going on."

Back on the ridge.....

"Alright, is everyone ready to go?"

"We're all good. Let's go save Ian."

"Hold up guys, why is Ian coming out of that hut with a giant tiger that's walking on two legs?"

"What? Oh my god, he is. What is going on around here?"

"Let's just go down there and try to deal with this bizarre situation."

The group went down to the camp and met back up with Ian. Ian introduced them to Silva and showed them the rest of the camp. Apparently, the goblins had befriended an ogre that had been chased from a village and had taken a bad fall. The girls named the ogre Shrek because it was the only name that they could come up with. The ogre didn't look much like Shrek, but he was tall and green so it worked. The group promised not to mess with the goblins as long as they didn't cause any trouble. After everything had been taken care of, the group gathered all of their gear and made it back towards the castle.

"Hey Ian, how do you feel?"

"I feel like shit, my head hurts, I'm dirty as hell, and I think I might have a few diseases. But other than that I'm fine."

"When we get back to the castle, you can get showered and patched up."

"Oh yeah. Zoe, what happened to your nose?"

"Fuck you, that's what happened. Now, why don't you take one of those shitty sticks and shove it up your ass."

Ian took a quick step back from the saltiness of the pissed off thief. He then turned to Markus who gave him the rundown of what happened while he was gone. Ian tried very hard to hold back his laughter after hearing that sweet "innocent" Rose punched Zoe in the nose and then refused to heal her.

When the group made it back to the castle, they were greeted by Leon, Alexandria, Gyrax, Zyran, Chris and several guards. The guards had their weapons drawn and pointed at the group, mostly at Silva.

King Leon spoke with an aggressive and outraged tone, "What is the meaning of this, why have you brought this being here to my castle?"

"I apologize your majesty, but Mr. Silva has claimed that he is an ambassador sent by Queen Lilith to discuss a peace treaty with the humans."

Leon looked closer at the being and then showed a face of almost familiarity.

"Silva, is that really you? Good god, it's been ages since I last saw you. You've gotten old and you still have all your hair."

"Well, yes I have gotten old, I have fur not hair, you've gotten old as well and you are now King of Leone. Last time I saw you, you were a prince and the castle was much smaller."

"Times have changed, old friend. Come inside, old friend. We have much to talk about."

Ian looked at the group and said what he was thinking.

"I didn't see that coming. Who would've thought that the ambassador for the demons and the king of the humans were old friends?"

Alexandria looked at Ian with a confused face, "Why is that so hard to believe? Aren't demons in your world usually pretty nice?"

"Actually, the only race we have on Earth is humans. There are no other races, but angels and demons are usually terms used to define people based on their actions. Some stories that I have read where there are similar situations to ours usually have the demons trying to dominate the other races and force them into an eternity of slavery."

Alexandria looked back at Ian with a nervous expression on her face.

"I see, well in our case the great threat that plagues us are the angels. Their newest ruler looks down on the other races and deems them to be impure. They are just giant jerks."

"Ah, so we have to deal with the douchey, everything is below us so we are just gonna enslave them kind of angels. Got it, your highness. Who is in charge of the angels by the way? Is it one being or more of a council?"

"The kingdom of Halotia is ran by a council of 7 Archangels. They run everything in Halotia and are very strict when it comes to enforcing the rules. They don't allow angels to leave the kingdom and if you get leaving then you will face lifetime imprisonment. Michael is the head of the council and is practically a tyrant. He is all powerful and everyone listens to him either out of respect or fear."

"So we have to train and work our asses off to fight a bunch of all powerful, winged, shining douche bags to save the world?"

"If those are the all insults, then yes."

"I'm so in. Let's do this. After we level up of course. Alright, I really need a shower and to get healed up so I will see all of you later."

The princess turned to group with a bit of a worried expression on her face, "Is Ian okay, he seems a little too excited to kill stuff?"

"I think this world is just getting to him, I'm sure once he has found a way to release some stress he'll be right as rain."

After a hot shower and a brief healing session with Gyrax, Ian felt better. He had gone through quite a bit more than he was expecting one day. There had been goblins, an ogre, a rakshasa, and a pissed off thief. Ian just got what he had been using as pajamas and went to sleep. All he wanted was to go back home and see his family.

On Earth.....

"It has been almost 3 years since the disappearance of the 6 high school seniors from XX high school. Police are baffled as they have no current leads on the teens and the families have all, but given up hope. The FBI and the CIA have been called in, but there are no paper trails for them to trace and are left with few options. President Trump has been in talks with several world leaders and even sent a message to the UN to see if the students can be found. That is all the current news that we have on the missing teens please stay tuned next time for any more possible information. Thank you and have a good night."

Back in Leone.....

Shining blue lights that people could see for miles with shadows passing through them. The enormous walls of concrete that surrounded the kingdom of 60 million people, Halotia was a towering place that traveled on a large floating island. It was never fixed to one location and was considered the most beautiful place in the world until the council uprooted the area around the kingdom and prevented anyone from leaving it. However, that would not stop one brave Valkyrie from trying to do what most considered the impossible.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS

Again, sorry another chapter is coming out late. I'm still working on time management and the weekend is when I become a little lazy. I'll be more stable with the releases during the week and once I get better handle on keeping track of time then I should be able to get more chapters out on the weekends. Please leave a comment or review as it helps me know what to improve on.
