Chapter 4: Chapter 4: The Battle for King James
We started to ride towards Queen Marishka's Castle. There was Peter on my right, Dante on my left, two of my best knights and two of my best guards riding behind us and then me riding in front. It took us four days to get to Marishka's castle. It was a long ride and we felt exhausted, but we knew that we had to continue to save James. When we got to the castle we stopped at the front of the gate. We got off our horses and felt like we could barely move because of how tired we were from our long trip. Luckily Peter had a replenishing potion we all drank to give us the energy to fight. There we were. Standing in front of the castle ready to go in and do what we had come to do. Fight and save my beloved King James. Then the draw bridge opened and there standing at the doorway on a beautiful white stallion was King James. I was shocked. I didn't know what to say. I didn't even know what to feel. I couldn't think straight. Then, out of nowhere I blacked out. When I woke up, I was in the queen's throne room sitting down with my back was against a brick wall. I didn't know how I got there or where I was. I looked at my hands and legs and saw that I was covered in blood. I didn't know whose it was. I slowly stood up using the wall to help me up. I looked around. I was a little dizzy, so I used the wall to keep me up. I didn't know what happened. I yelled out, "Peter! Dante! Where are you?!"
I let go of the wall and almost fell but I was able to slowly wobble a few feet before I could walk with a steady stance. I looked around to see if I could find some sort of way out. For a few seconds my eye sight blurred in and out, but I found a doorway about 100 yards to the right of me. It looked like I saw the sky through the doorway. I slowly walked towards the doorway. When I was getting closer, I saw the draw bridge. My eye sight drifted from blurry to clear for a few seconds again. I was finally able to reach the doorway. When I got outside, I saw fallen guards everywhere. I kept looking for my men but then I smelled strawberry.
I remembered that one of Peter's potions he was telling me about smelled like strawberries. I just couldn't remember what it was the potion did. So, I ran towards the smell. The smell was getting stronger and stronger. Then I saw Peter fighting with King James and Queen Marishka. I used my super speed in front of Peter with my sword in hand and blocked King James attack and pushed him away very hard. I was able to push him away a few feet. King James looked at me. He smiled and said, "Well…well you look like hell Sayaka". I looked at him and said, "Well you're not so hot looking yourself James." He came towards me swinging his sword and I kept blocking his attacks with my sword. I heard that he was trying to catch his breath whenever he could in between swings. I started laughing and said, "You never learn James. You know I'm a better swordsman than you." Then James stopped trying to catch his breath and said, "Why won't you leave us alone Sayaka?" When he said that I stopped. I dropped my sword and fell to my knees. I looked up to the sky and started to cry. My body was aching all over. I was so confused. I looked at James and said "Who is we? I came here to save you from Marishka?" He started to laugh. I looked down on the floor. I put my hands on the floor putting the pressure of my body weight on my hands. He walked up to me and stabbed the ground in front of me with the blade of his sword. He knelt on his right knee put his arm on his knee to balance his body weight, he got close, and he lifted my head up with his left hand. I could see him smiling as he was looking down at me. James looked at me and used telepath to speak with me he said "Saya I'm not on Marishka's side she has me under a controlling spell play along until you can save me." I blinked twice letting him know that I agree, He said, "Why are you crying Sayaka?" He turned his head sideways a bit to his right. "Marishka is my wife." He smiled. "And," He said with a slight laugh and continued, "The mother of my child." My eyes widened. I was so confused, angry and jealous all at the same time. These feelings were so extreme that I didn't even care anymore. I pushed James out of my way. I looked and noticed a little scrape on the side of his face near his left eye. It was purple. It was a thin slice shape. I knew that he was telling the truth about being controlled. It was then that I heard his voice in my head saying, "Help me. I'm trapped. Free me. She won't let me go." I smiled. He saw that and frowned. I quickly slapped his hand off my chin. I gathered up all my strength in a few split seconds and pushed him back so hard he flew a few yards. He landed on his back on the ground and made a loud thump sound. His sword wobbled as I sat there on my knees. He sat up and supported himself with his elbows on the ground. He looked towards me with fear in his eyes. I stood myself up. When I stood up, I made sure I had all my balance together. I took off my cape I had on and revealed my beautiful purple and black vampire wings. My eyes turned red. I turned my head slightly to the right and pointed to James, smiled and said, "So you never did love me, did you? Ever since you came back from the war you were different." I put my hand back down to my side. "Why is that?" I asked him. He grinned and then slowly stood himself up. He looked at me said, "When I was at war, we were fighting a kingdom over populated with vampires, so I had to kill every one of them." Then Peter was able to quickly come up to me and hold me back from behind and told me, "They have Dante. They took him when you beasted out." With anger I yelled at James, "Where the hell is Dante?" James smirked and pointed behind me. Peter and I turned around and there were Dante being held by guards with one of them holding holly water over his head in a bowl. I turned back around and looked at James and said, "Release Dante this second James." James just laughed and said, "I'll release him on one condition." I swallowed my pride and said, "What is your condition?" With a smile he replied, "I'll release Dante, but you have to kill yourself." Dante yelled out, "Sayaka don't do it! No matter what you do all of us will die!" I turned to look at Dante. I gave him a look as if saying, "Sorry." then I remembered that James doesn't know about my new powers. I looked back at James and said, "Fine James, I'll do it." He pulled out a wooden steak then slowly walked past me and over to where Dante was being held then covered the steak in holy water. He walked over to me, grabbed my hand and put the steak in my hand then let go.
As I was about to impale myself, I started blowing up like a ball of fire to distract everyone. I grabbed Peter and Dante then started to fly up in the air at a fast rate. Everyone on the ground was looking in shock and confusion to what was going on and for some reason not trying to stop us from getting away. When I was sure we were far enough up, I stopped. I opened my wings wide. I let the air out and let my wings glide us safely through the air. Right then James turned to his guards, pointed up at us and yelled, "After them you fool!!" We quickly, but safely, fell to the ground. We landed a few miles away. We were able to get away without the guards knowing where we landed. I lied down against a tree breathing heavily trying to catch my breath. Both Peter and Dante said, "Your majesty, are you, all right?" I looked at them and said, "Yes I'm fine. Just a little tired that's all. I just need to catch my breath for a few minutes."
After about two hours we all got up and headed towards castle Dracul. I suddenly heard something. I stopped. I listened more carefully and heard that the noise were horses. The sound of their hooves was coming closer towards us. It seemed that that were still far away, but I wanted to make sure they didn't find us. I turned around towards Peter and Dante and said, "I hear their horses coming closer. We need to get to the castle as soon as we can. Peter do you have any more of that potion that can give us our strength back?" "Yes, I do." He replied. "Good take that out. We need that right now. The castle is still really far away." I said. He took a few tiny glasses jars out and gave us each one. We drank them and gained our strength back. I then heard that the horses were getting closer and closer towards us. "Run!! Don't stop until you reach the castle. RUN!!!" All three of us ran. The horses were closer than I thought. They were a few yards away from us. They started shooting Arrows at us. I kept reflecting them with my wind powers. Peter and I made it to the castle. As we were running through the gates, I told the guards to quickly close and lock the gates. We ran up the stairs and reached inside but somehow Dante was nowhere to be seen. I looked around and said, "Where's Dante?" Peter and I looked at each other. I ran towards the gate. I saw that Dante was still running towards the castle. I told the guards to open one of the gates to let him through. They opened it up just enough to be able to let him through. Dante seemed okay so far. He ran through the gate and as soon as he came through, I told the guards to close and lock the gate. I hugged him and as soon as he ran through and at that moment, he was shot with an arrow that made it through the fence bars. He was hit right in the left shoulder. Right away he fell to the ground on his knees. I lied there with him. Dante touched my face. I started crying then he started to say, "Sayaka don't cry you must be strong for your people. You need to survive." I smiled and said, "Dante I love you. Don't leave me please. I don't want to be alone." Dante smiled and gave me a last kiss and said, "You'll never be alone. I'll always be in your heart. I know you'll never forget me." He fell to the ground and died. I yelled out so loud that all the animals in the forest got startled from it and ran away. Peter ran up to me and grabbed me. "Your majesty, I know it's hard, but you must let him go. He's gone now." I got up and stood behind the gates. I saw James guards coming towards us. I used my powers to lift them in the air. They saw the smile on my face. My hair was blowing in the wind. I waved my hands and arms and made a tornado and transported them back to James.
They crashed landed right in front of James. He helped them up and asked, "What happened? Did you kill him?" One of the guards said, "Well sordof." James was angry. "What do you mean sordof?!" He yelled. "Well, your highness, we killed her lover Dante." James got angry when he said that. "Lover? Lover?!" He yelled. "She doesn't have a lover!" He turned around and rubbed his chin then turned back around facing the guard. "I never said to kill Dante anyway. I said for you to kill the wizard. Who told you to kill Dante?" One of the guards looked shocked and said, "Your majesty, you were the one who told us to kill him. Queen Marishka said you changed the orders to kill the lover. She even said which one was the lover." James got even angrier and yelled, "MARISHKA!!!!" She came towards James, smiled, and tried to hug him. He pushed her away and grabbed her by the arm and said, "Marishka, what is the meaning of telling my guards to kill Sayaka's lover? We needed the Wizard dead. He's the real threat against us." With a smirk on her face she told him, "So she will feel how I felt when she told me you were dead when it wasn't true. She stole you from me to keep you for herself." James then grabbed Marishka and slapped her. While holding her, one tear fell from her eye and she said, "How dare you hit your queen and the mother of your child." James looked at Marishka and said, "Well if it weren't for you this war with Sayaka would have ended and she would be easier to take down." He walked to his horse, got on and headed to my castle. "I'm going to end all of this myself. The right way." Then he yelled out, "Hya!" and road his white stallion towards my castle.
