Chapter 11: Slut
After that eventful dinner, Chen SyaoRan left her place with full of bliss while Jiang Ai Yue had difficulty sleeping that night. Chen SyaoRan's face kept appearing in her dreams and she couldn't stop herself from thinking about him. Desperate for sleep, she took a sleeping pill before skimming back to her script to shift her focus onto something else except SyaoRan. Half an hour later, she finally felt drowsy and finally decided to go to bed.
It was a dreamless sleep and she felt refreshed. Grabbing her phone to check her schedule again, she dressed up and waited for Manager Xing to pick her up.
"Did you read the contract?" Manager Xing asked her as they strode down the hallway of the CK Entertainment. Along the way, Jiang Ai Yue met some employees and artists whom she greeted back when they saw her.
"Yes, I read it a week ago. And you already said that PA Xing even checked it and had no problems about it so I guess it's fine."
As they reached the room, the door just across from it opened and revealed another girl who wore luxury clothes from head to toe. Her face with heavy make-up and hair full of extensions.
Seeing Jiang Ai Yue, the said girl showed a smile of contempt as she took her time walking to her directions, her heels clacking on the floor. A strong smell of perfume invaded her space so Ai Yue couldn't help but hold her breath. Even Manager Xing took out her handkerchief to cover her nose.
"Oh, the slut princess is here. What a bad day it is for a visit here in the company." Mi Na spewed out with such a hateful tone. Jiang Ai Yue was in full defense mode whenever she meets people like her in the entertainment circle.
Jiang Ai Yue proudly smiled as if she hadn't heard what Mi Na said. "You must've been here to find some drama roles. I heard no one has offered you anything after that scandal with the director five months ago." She chuckled with contempt.
Mi Na's face contorted with rage when she was reminded by her scandal. "Shut yourself, you slut!" She lifted her hand to slap Jiang Ai Yue but Ai Yue was faster and grabbed hold of her wrist.
"I think you're making a mistake here, Mi Na. The slut who slept with the director months ago wasn't me but you, remember. I do recommend that you take some vitamins that will strengthen your brain memory in case you're having a hard time remembering those." Ai Yue chuckled as she enjoyed watching Mi Na's face distort into something more hideous from rage.
She then threw Mi Na's wrist with force that Mi Na almost stumbled from gaining her balance. "A word of advice, you better control your temper next time. Or you might find yourself with no place at this entertainment circle."
Mi Na realized her words and pointed at her. "So that scandal was really your fault, you bitch!!"
Ai Yue smiled in triumph. "Not really, after all, if you didn't sleep around, there would be no scandal to leak."
Mi Na exploded in rage and when Ai Yue felt like she's already played enough with her she gave her final words before entering the room.
"Next time, do it more discreetly. Toodles~" Ai Yue opened the door and went inside the room.
Inside, she saw two people sitting behind the glass window and another person serving them some drinks.
"Sorry, we're late." Jiang Ai Yue apologized as she opened the glass door and greeted the visitors.
"You were just on time, Ms. Jiang." The personnel from Marie-Belle, a luxury clothing line, said as they both stood up and shook hands with her.
After a few exchange with them, she signed the documents finalizing their sponsorship and being the ambassador of the brand.
"I'll be playing a rich heiress on my next project so I think it'll be a good chance to market the brand at that time. My manager could give you the director's number if you think you want to cooperate with them." Ai Yue told them a couple of words before leaving the room to go to her next schedule.
Arriving at the TV station, Ai Yue went directly get her measurements and costume fitting for the upcoming drama.
"Ms. Jiang Ai Yue, it's nice to meet you." A voice sounded behind her. She was sipping tea in the waiting room when the door opened and a gorgeous guy entered. Turning her head, she saw Han Di Xi entering with his manager and assistant.
"Don't call me Miss. Just Jiang Ai Yue is fine. Nice to meet you too, Mr. Han." She stood up to greet one of the most popular eligible actors in the industry.
"Then just call me without honorifics. We'll be working together very soon, after all." Han Di Xi said as they shook hands and he sat opposite her. "I've always been a fan of your works, Jiang Ai Yue." He flashed her a blinding smile that if seen by his fans, will surely make them fall in love with his charms.
"I also admire your works too. And congratulations for winning the Best Male Lead award this year." Jiang Ai Yue politely responded to him.
The drama she picked as the antagonist is a reincarnation story that will place in the past and the present. Her role at the past would be the strict empress and a spoiled rich heiress in the present time. Han Di Xi on the other hand is the male lead for the drama. He'll be acting as the emperor and the business tycoon for the present time.
This time, her role as the antagonist have almost the same amount of screen time with the male and female lead. Different sides would be shown and the drama would portray a different type of antagonist. It would not only show how she bullies the female lead but her reasons and actions would be revealed to the audience to story tell her side. Jiang Ai Yue knew how challenging the role would be but she wanted to take this opportunity to grow and expand her experience in different areas.
As an A-list actor, she's been in countless dramas and films acting as the female lead but this time, she wanted to try being the villain onscreen. It's not only the drama story that she'll be looking forward to but rather, she fell in love with the antagonist role this time.
The two of them finished their measurements and fitting at the same time so Han Di Xi politely asked Jiang Ai Yue for a friendly meal afterwards. Since it was already past lunchtime, she accepted his offer and they went to a private restaurant not that far away from the station.
