Chapter 63: Broken
"Dada, don't laugh! You spoiled my surprise!"
I heard Ari whine as Miraj continued laughing. His entire body was shaking with laughter and honestly, I couldn't remember last time he laughed so hard.
"Okay. Sorry bub! But what are you doing here?" Miraj asked Ari who was playing with top button on Miraj's shirt. Oh how I wanted to be the one doing that and maybe open some of them while I was at it.
"Mama brought me here," Ari mumbled.
"Eli, what's going on? Why are you both here?"
I heard Miraj but he just looked so.. delicious. I just want to lick him top to bottom like an ice cream cone. If only I wasn't in a room full of balloons.
Wait.. the balloons! Fuck! I could feel my soul astral projecting itself into another dimension. Become a mother.. they said. It will be fun.. they said.
Eliana de La Cruz. The feared leader of the Cross family. A deadly assassin.. blowing pink balloons because her son asked her to.
"What does it look like Miraj? We were preparing for a surprise party. That's why we were hiding from you and Ari.. asked for all this," I said the last part while pointing my hands around the room. I didn't want to tell him why I was in London.
"I meant.. " Miraj stopped mid sentence and shook his head. "Anyway, have you both eaten yet?"
"No, Dada. I am hungry."
And that was how it all went to vain. I blew four fucking balloons for them to not even be used because his dumbass caught us!

After dinner, Miraj was the one to put Ari to bed since they had missed each other the last couple days. I was in my room going through papers for tomorrow's meeting when there was a knock on my door.
I sighed as I got up from the couch to open the door to him. I knew he was gonna show up and ask me what this trip was about but I still wasn't sure what to say to him. I was just going to have to wing it.
I opened the door to a gorgeous Male in plain navy T-shirt and grey sweatpants. How did he look hot in nightwear?
"What?"
So we were going with attitude first.
"Atleast let me come in, woman!"
I moved aside to let him in and crossed my arms on my chest like I couldn't wait for this to be over. I really just wanted to kiss him silly honestly. Fuck him and fuck his hotness! I should be working.
"What are you doing here?"
Miraj went straight to the point. I guess he didn't have time for niceties either.
"What do you care? Are you not happy to meet your son? Or did you want to be away from us? Hiding something are we, Miraj? Hmm?"
I didn't even know what I was saying at this point. It just all came out once I opened my mouth. I guess I wanted him to be happy? about us being here? I don't know. I was figuring out my own feelings as I spoke to him.
"What- No, Eli! Stop with your ridiculous questions! I am asking because I didn't know you were coming here! Why wasn't I told? This isn't the time to be doing these things. I should know where my family is at all times, Eli!"
His voice had gotten progressively loud and he was yelling by the end. Why were we always so fucking angry at each other? It was always like this. Emotions running too high when it was just the two of us behind closed doors.
Except.. except when we were in bed. Then we were just always in tandem, knowing exactly what the other wants. It was perplexing to say the least.
He let out a tired sigh.
"Times are dangerous for us, Bee. Please. Please be careful. I can't- I can't lose you two!"
I had never seen Miraj like this. Never. He almost sounded broken.
