Chapter 48: 48. The Team Finds out
"It's true I did those things," Grant said as he remembered all the people killed by his hands. All the people he killed for SHIELD and Hydra. But the difference was other people were making the decision, not him. 'But I was manipulated by you and our parents and then by Garrett. So I yes I am accountable' thought Grant and said "I let you all hollow me out and control me"
Christian snorted and waved a dismissive hand. "Spare me the non-apology I am a Senator"
"I take responsibility for my actions Christian now it's your turn" Grant waved to the chair behind the desk.
Christian sat looking apprehensive. "What is that suppose to mean?"
"What it means is you are going to do exactly what I tell you or you will find out just how far SHIELD is willing to go to make you accept responsibility. That you are going to see t up a family meeting." Grant stood up walked towards the door and them as he opened it, turned, and smiled. "The prodigal son has returned."
Few blocks from Christian's office. A black SUV was standing there, Grant opened the door and entered the SUV.
"Well that went better than I expected," Coulson said sitting on the driver's seat beside Grant.
"Huh! What were you expecting boss?" asked Grant
"Well one of the better scenarios was you getting so angry that you lost control of yourself and best Christian to the pulp" replied Coulson
"If that's the better scenario then what about the bad ones?" asked Grant
"You kill him" replied Coulson directly
"Come on sir, you know me even if I kill him, I will make sure to make it looks like a suicide then murder to not raise any suspicion," Grant said with a smirk.
"I know but let's not do that, he can be useful in the future," said Coulson
"I know sir," Grant said nodding his head in acceptance.
"So you are really not coming back to the Playground with me," asked Coulson
"No, I am going to deal with the problem that Christian has created first," Grant replied as he turned back to pick up his bag from the back seat of the SUV.
"You are just scared that Skye and Fitz will tear you a new one if they find out about it," Coulson said
"True, but I am the patient here. You will be the one who is going to get torn by them" Grant said as he checked the essentials in his bag.
"Cough cough... let's forget about that for now. While meeting your parents make sure to send a signal so that I can send someone to pick up" Coulson said
"Sir there is something I would like to talk to you about that," Grant said
"What is it?" asked Coulson raising his eyebrow.
"Well, you see.....

At the Playground.
While Grant and Coulson went to visit Christian, Fitz was going mad.
"Fitz what happened why are you looking so troubled," asked Skye when she saw Fitz running around the hall.
"Skye have you seen Ward?" asked Fitz
"No, I just came back from the gym and was training with May but shouldn't he be with you right now for his therapy," Skye asked
"Yes but I can't find him anywhere" replied Fitz.
"Did you check the cameras? Maybe he is hiding somewhere because he doesn't want the therapy now" Skye said
"I thought so too but I didn't see him in any surveillance camera not even in the past few hours," said Fitz.
"He is an Agent, Fitz did you really think it would be easy to catch him if he wants to hide?" asked Skye
"Then what do I do?" asked Fitz
"Well, didn't we installed the hidden cameras for this purpose," Skye said with a smirk as she took the tablet from Fitz and after few minutes she found what she was looking for.
"Here see, Ward was captured in this camera at 5:30 in the morning. He went to the hangar and didn't come back" Skye said but was frowning at the last part.
"You mean he left the Playground?" asked Fitz
"Who left the playground?" came Simmons's voice from behind them making the two jump in surprise and hide the tablet at their back as they turned to face Simmons who was standing beside Bobbi.
"Simmons when did you come?" Skye said "I didn't even hear you! Are you sure you don't want to be a field agent because I think you can be"
"Don't change the subject Skye, who left the playground?" asked Simmons
"Who else? It's Director Coulson" said Fitz
"Yes, AC left the Playground on his own...." as if thinking of something Skye turned back to check something on the tab and found out that she was right, Ward didn't leave the Playground on his own but went to meet his brother with him.
"Fitz!" called Skye causing Fitz to turn his head as he saw Ward leaving the playground with Coulson.
"No! No No No!!! Ward did not follow Coulson to meet Christian Ward" Fitz said without lowering his tone.
""What!?"" Simmons and Bobbi asked at once as the two walked forward and watched the video of Ward and Coulson leaving the Playground at once.
"Why? Why did Coulson take Ward with him?" Fitz asked but no one could reply to him.
"What are you all doing here?" asked May as she saw the four of them huddled together in the hallway.
"May, Coulson took Ward with him to meet his brother," Skye said at once, "Did you knew about this?"
"No," said May succinctly, "Most likely it was the plan of the two of them as Ward will know Christian's most dirty secrets that may help get us the upper hand"
"Grant is his most dirty secret May. You don't know what he did to Grant when he was a child. Other than Garrett, he affected Grant the most if he meets him I don't know what will happen" Skye said
"Coulson knew that but he still took Ward with him, I just hope he doesn't make him face Ward. He is been improving but something like this can take him in the backward direction" Fitz said while shaking his head.
"Is that true?"
