Chapter 18: A tough Battle
The Qi domain was also another ability that came with the breakthrough of the mortal realm and it was located in his glabella, the spot between his eyebrows, it was also called the sea of consciousness. It was like a small expanse of dry land with only a lakes worth of qi.

"Thank you senior", said Xiao wan while turning towards the defensive formation and he ran to it and stood in front it and stretched out his soul power to sense the position of the core of the formation.
He discovered that his soul power was ten times more abundant than before and it could spread out up to a thousand-feet radius around him. But when he concentrated it in one direction he was able to cover a total of one thousand five hundred-feet.
He carefully guided his spirit sense to probe the defensive array. According to information, you have to carefully probe the formation and make sure you're fully concentrated. Beads of sweat were trickling down Xiao Wan's face as he concentrated intensely.
After what seemed like half an hour, he managed to find the right path to the core of the formation and a hint of glee flashed through his eyes.
Then the spirit fountain said, "Good, now focus your soul power on the core and keep striking it with your genuine qi till it disperses."

He laid down on the floor and was panting heavily, thinking, 'this was far harder than I thought but I managed to pull through thanks to the spirit fountain aiding my breakthrough'
Then he noticed that his realm had gone down reduced by a sub-level, his cultivation regressed back to the early stage from the mid stage of the first tier of the mortal realm.
Even though he didn't want this to happen, he wasn't really bothered as this way he'd be much stronger when he reaches the mid stage much later.
After resting for about ten minutes, he sat up and then prepared his mind to face the corpse slaves at the surface of the pond.
"Young man, you have to leave as soon as possible or else you won't be able to leave even if you want to leave later on.." said the Spirit fountain suddenly in a grave tone, in order to rouse Xiao Wan from his meditate state.
Xiao Wan noted the urgency in the tone of the Spirit fountain and stood up instantly.
"Many thanks for your help, senior", Xiao Wan said as he cupped his hand and bowed in the direction of the spirit fountain, then he turned to leave.
But the cave started shaking and rumbling as if something was thrashing around and trying to escape, suddenly an aura that brought terror to Xiao Wan's face swept through the cave.
"Wait, take this with you", said the Spirit fountain as a ball of qi floated towards Xiao Wan and merged with his dantian before he could react but he knew the spirit fountain wouldn't harm him in any way.
"Now run as fast as you can before this cave collapses and remember, tell no one about what happened here or in the secret realm you entered before or else you'd be killed without a place to be buried" said the Spirit fountain in a grave tone.
Xiao Wan circulated most of his genuine qi towards his legs and ran as fast as he could, leaving only trails of dust in his wake but rocks were already falling down and the cave became smaller as he kept jumping from rock to rock.
'Please let me make it in time' Xiao Wan thought. And he continued pumping genuine qi till his meridians started aching.
He ran out of the cave into the water and swam up very quickly but he wasn't bothered by the temperature of the water like before as he could only think of escaping from whatever it was that was sealed in the cave.
He jumped out of the deep pond and still continued running until he was about three hundred meters away from the pond, then he remembered why he was forced to enter the pond and he climbed onto a tree and searched around using his soul power to search for his other team members and he saw them tied up on stakes as if the corpse slaves wanted to show people what happens when they're provoked.
He noticed that most of the corpse slaves and Savage beasts were facing the north and we're all kneeling down as if in awe of their master and the next sight he saw made his face pale with disgust and he nearly puked.
He saw a well that had so much blood in it and then he saw some humans were being slaughtered and their blood was allowed to flow into the well while the Savage beasts were eating their flesh.
It was such a gory sight to behold but Xiao Wan steeled his nerves and continued looking at the well, and a delicate looking man emerged from the bloody well, his face looked like it was carved by the gods but a terrifying scar ran across his face from his right eyebrow to his left cheek and his once handsome face looked disgusting.
The man suddenly looked Xiao Wan's direction and Xiao Wan's face paled as he quickly hid behind the tree while thinking of ways to escape but also free his teammates.
"Go and bring back whoever was watching me" ordered the Scarred man in a menacing tone. And the strongest Corpse slave, the silver colored one, went as ordered.
'Shit, I've been found....', Xiao Wan curses in his mind.
Xiao Wan's heart started beating rapidly as he thought of different ways to escape but he knew that once he made the slightest movement he'd be discovered so he started formulating a plan in his mind after he had calmed down.
He spread out his soul sense to find the nearest place to hide. As soon as, the silver colored corpse slaves came behind the tree, it smashed it's fist into the tree.
_BOOOOMMM!!!_.
_CRASHHHH!!?_
The tree was split in half and splinters of wood were flying about, the excess force from it's fist also kicked up dust and Xiao Wan made use of this opportunity to dash behind another tree while rustling some leaves.

Xiao Wan came out with a flash and a Jade green sword had appeared in his hands. He swung it with every single strength in his body while pouring genuine qi into the sword.
Normally a spirit weapon would light up when genuine qi was poured into it but the sword didn't even budge.

The sword sliced through the silver colored corpse slave like a hot knife cutting through butter but its extended fist still managed to land on Xiao Wan's chest and threw him back, a mouthful of blood was spat out.
