Chapter 11: 11 Reunion
As john exited the portal the familiar sight of the aquarium room soon met his eyes. The room seemed empty, compared to the liveliness that was present when he entered. Only a bored looking young man stood there, seemingly lost in thought. He did not notice as John made his way over to him, jumping as john's voice echoed through the room. "Hello! Can you tell me where the new marksmanship class is? They seem to have left me behind."
The man took a moment to decompose himself as he glared at John. "You're John Enders I'm assuming? It's about time you showed up, I've been waiting here for an hour for you to show up. Lady Alli sent me here to fetch you. I am to bring you to the magic academy. You will be attending our illustrious Academy every afternoon as a part time student. Everything has been taken care of. Follow me."
"Who is Lady Alli? And why do I have to go with you? I'm a member of the marksmanship college."
"You literally just left from meeting her, how can you not remember? A genius girl with green hair. She had a banging body. The living incarnation of the wood element. She pulled some strings and got you admitted into the college as a part time student. She claimed it was a waste to let a half way trained partial mage to train you."
John lit up a cigarette as he was listening, blowing the sulfur smoke into the kids face as he exhaled. "I am a marksman. Don't talk down on my college." His red and black pistol appeared in his hand, the barrel under the chin of the man. The smell of burning flesh filling the small room.
"What the fuck man!" The kid yelled as he jumped back. "I get it, you're a bad ass incarnation of fire. Great! You're proof that every dog has his day. Now get your fucking ass ready to travel, you don't want to know the things Alli can do with that wood of hers. " the kid shivered as he turned towards the door.
John nodded to himself as he walked behind the kid. "What's your name?"
"Kyle Anderson the third"
"Ok Kyle, how did this happen? I'm a marksman, why do I have an elemental body or whatever."
"How the fuck would I know? Only those who are incredibly gifted with magic awaken a elemental body. You're not even an official student of magic, the only way it could happen is if you were so naturally gifted with magic that your sprite suppressed your gift, making it own appear in your choices."
"It did appear in my choices. It was number one for me, but not on the list for my armament."
Kyle nodded "if your natural gift with magic far surpassed the ability of your sprite it would still appear on your list. The fact that it was number one on your list just goes to show how terrifying your gift is"
The portal that John had arrived by was also used by the young man to transport them to the Magic Academy.
The magic academy looked far different from the marksmanship academy. It was like comparing the ghetto to Beverly Hills. Bright magic balls lit the darkening streets, which were lined with luxurious looking duplexes. Each house had a rather large yard, and a balcony overlooking the street. In the distance a rather large castle like structure dominated the horizon. Beautiful lights began to line the streets, making it appear almost day as the sun set behind them.
Kyle smiled as he saw the awe in John's face. "Welcome to the magic academy. We are lucky to be the top school of the five, and receive generous resources from the various sects around the world. Unfortunately you will not be staying here, as you are a student of the marksmanship university, however the resources that are allocated to students. This will be discussed with the teacher that has been assigned as your tutor."
John lit a smoke as they walked down the boulevard, listening as Kyle spoke. "We are headed to the academy that you see in the distance. My duty will end once you arrive at the administrative office. From there they will get you registered as a part time student as set you up with a tutor. Your tutor will be responsible for teaching you a technique that will become half of your cultivation method, combined with your marksmanship training. "
As he spoke, the two slowly made their way down the street, arriving before the giant castle like building. They traveled up the stairs, and the administration was on the right. Kyle left as they arrived, leaving John alone with a middle aged woman behind the counter. The lady's scratchy voice seemed like nails on a chalk board as she spoke. "Can I help you young man?"
"I'm here to register as a part time student, my name is..."
"You must be the Enders boy Alli was talking about, she as already made sure you're registered. If you will just wait here a moment your tutor will arrive shortly."
John did not wait long when an elderly man came into the room, followed by a familiar looking cat girl. He looked at me as a sigh escaped his lips. "You must be John, the fire body marksman. I am professor Daniel's, and I will be your tutor. You will be taking classes with my other student, Miss Hera here. I do hope that you will get along."
Hera blushed as she ran into John's arms. "I hadn't heard from you in a week! My sister said that you hadn't came out yet, and I was so worried." Blushing as she realized her actions Hera quickly backed away. The teacher chucked "excellent it seems that you know each other, that will makes things easier. Alli told me you would arrive today, so I summoned Hera here as well. After all it is not often that those blessed with elemental bodies appear, it is even stranger when they appear in other academies."
The teacher took us to a nearby classroom, where complicated runes and a chart of elements lined the walls. "As part time students you will receive most of the benefits of regular students, minus meals and lodging of course. You will each receive a partial cultivation method that will merge with your universities cultivation method giving you a full method to advance. However the cultivation methods available for elemental body students are different from regular magic students."
He let out a soft cough as John lit another cigarette. He only gave him a strange look before continuing. "Most magic students receive a cultivation method that gives a minor boost to all of their elemental spells, as well as raises their mana and mana regeneration. However for elemental body students certain changes to the method had to be made. The cultivation method you will receive is tailor fit to your particular element, cultivation methods, as well as your Mana Armament. For this to happen we need to run you through a test. Don't worry, it is not like the last one you went through. "
The man summoned a small pentagram formation, with each point of the star representing a different element. Outside of the star were two sets of 5 circles, each set had an image of one of the 5 schools. The inner set of circles was larger, while the outer was smaller. Below the pentagram was a full set of runes that lined the walls.
"To begin I will need a drop of blood from each of you. The blood will leak into the formation, highlighting you element, your dominate class and your subservient class. The runes below will then light up in order of the cultivation components to make a suitable cultivation method for you. The process is rather quick, and is essential for finding the proper path for your magic to take."
A small prick appears on his finger as the blood flowed into the formation. "Without further ado let us begin."
