Chapter 13: No. 1
Everyone was silent. They still had to digest the information they had just heard. For them, it was just mind-blowing that such a deep background story for All Might's power existed.
Naturally, I was already aware of the story, but hearing it directly from All Might's mouth rather than reading it in a manga or watching it in the anime was also somehow different. It did manage to silence the room for a good few minutes.
Of course, I was also partly acting stunned. It would be weird, if I wouldn't show this kind of reaction as if I already knew it all.
A few minutes later, I finally took the lead and replied to his question, "I refuse."
Just right after All Might spoke out these mind-blowing information which took my family so long to digest, my answer, again, sent them into a state of silence and bewilderment.
Not only them but All Might and Gran Torino were also stunned and frozen on the spot after hearing my words. They clearly didn't expect me to decline his proposition.
"You refuse? What do you mean, Jin-shounen? Why?" All Might was the first to regain his composure and asked me in clear confusion.
The others also perked their ears up, curious as to why I would refuse such a seemingly fantastic offer. It clearly didn't happen every day that the Number One Hero comes to your house and offers you one of the strongest, if not THE strongest Quirk in the world.
"Because I don't think it is necessary."
Apparent from their expressions, they were still clearly confused about what I meant, so I quickly elaborated further, "What I mean is, I don't think it is necessary for you to give me your Quirk. I don't mean to sound arrogant or look down on your Quirk or something, but I'm pretty confident that my Quirk and its potential isn't any weaker than One For All. And I seriously believe that I don't need external power given to me to reach the top.."
Of course, with 'external power' I didn't mean my Saiyan powers..
All Might was clearly taken aback by my answer and evidently didn't expect it at all.
"Are you really sure about that, brat? With One For All and your power combined, you could easily become the next and strongest Symbol of Peace." Gran Torino couldn't help but interject in the conversation.
I looked both of them in their eyes and confidently and determinedly said, "Yes, I'm 100% sure."
My parents and grandparents only sat there silently without muttering a single word, but you could still clearly see the proud expression on their faces.
Although they were at first disappointed by my refusal, but after they heard my reason for that, they nodded approvingly and agreed to the claim that I could reach the top with my own power.
They obviously knew how strong, as well as how high my potential was, so they had nothing to worry about and were simply, proudly watching from the sidelines and letting me do my thing.
*Sigh*
"Haa~, and here I thought I finally found the perfect successor. Not only do you have a strong Quirk, you yourself are strong, brave and have all the other necessary qualities to become a wonderful hero. Not to mention that I can also trust you since you're the child of my old friends, Jason and Saya." sighed All Might regretfully.
"I'm very honored that you want me to be your successor, but as I said before, I don't really need it. I also think that it would be way better to give your Quirk to someone else. It might sound good to have one super strong Symbol of Peace, but imagine this; what if there are two? I might be extremely strong in the future, but I'm still only one person, you know. I can't rescue them all and I think you might be the one who knows this the best. So in the end, wouldn't it be way better to have two extremely strong heroes instead of one?"
Considering the possibility that I might visit other worlds someday, it would be bad if the new Symbol of Peace suddenly vanished without a trace, leaving the people without one behind right after I had accomplished my goal.
With someone else at the pinnacle of this world, I would be more reassured, should I ever decide to leave.
At least someone would still be there to hold the peace together, even without me around.
'I also kinda want to have someone who could bring me a good challenge and who could keep up with me along my journey to the top..' I silently thought to myself but didn't say it aloud.
Everyone in the room, especially All Might, were stunned at my reasoning. It sounded absolutely reasonable, but All Might hadn't even thought of it that way until now.
After a long period of silence, All Might transformed back into his muscle form and happily laughed out loud. Gran Torino and the others also had a smile on their faces.
"TRULY AMAZING, JIN-SHOUNEN! HAHAHA! You're right, you will become a splendid hero, even without One For All. Jason, Saya, you truly raised a good kid, hahahaha."
"Hmm~, of course, hehe." my mom was clearly proud and happy about All Might's praise.
"Now that I have said what I wanted to say, it's time to leave. I'm really sorry that we can't stay any longer here and celebrate our reunion, but we still have something important to do. I promise, I'll make it up to you at a later time.." All Might apologetically said.
"Don't worry, we still have lots of time to catch up." my dad just smiled and shrugged it off.
All Might nodded and he and Gran Torino slowly stood up from their seats, preparing to say their goodbyes and leave. But before they could take one more step towards the exit, I stopped them from doing so.
They were confused as to why I was stopping them, but I didn't say anything and only formed a small ball of energy in my hand and pushed it towards All Might.
He didn't evade nor stop it.
Although he didn't know what the ball of light was, he nonetheless trusted me that I wouldn't harm him, which I appreciated.
The ball of energy came into contact with All Might and slowly submerged into his body.
Five seconds..
Ten seconds..
Twenty seconds passed before All Might suddenly shouted out in surprise.
"HOW??" All Might was incredibly bewildered by what had happened to him.
"What is it, Toshinori? What did that brat do and what was that ball of light?" Gran Torino immediately asked All Might after seeing his bizarre reaction.
"M-My injury h-healed a little bit.." answered All Might in disbelief.
"WHAT?! HOW?" Gran Torino shouted out in an equally disbelieving tone.
Gran Torino knew full well how grave this injury was. Not even 'Recovery Girl' could've healed his body further at this point, but this small ball of light did?
Both were speechless and couldn't come up with an answer, so they could only turn towards me to enlighten them.
My family simply watched by the side, seemingly in amusement because they could more or less guess what I had done.
Yes, this was my ability, Ki Transfer. I was constantly trying to improve this technique for years, mostly because of this moment.
At the beginning, I could only transfer my own energy into another person to restore some of their energy, but now I was able to combine my own energy with the natural energy from the environment to further strengthen the technique and to treat/heal injuries, albeit only a little bit at the moment.
This will obviously change in the future, where people would even start to think that I might have a healing Quirk due to this ability.
When I told them about my ability, they were absolutely stunned speechless and amazed at the same time. They even thought that I had multiple Quirks at first, but I assured them that this was not the case and that this was just a skill from my 'Quirk'.
"Y-You're really amazing, Jin-shounen. What a versatile Quirk.." All Might stutteringly praised while still being stunned by my abilities.
Gran Torino only dumbly nodded in agreement with All Might's statement.
"Haha.. Well, it is still not perfect, though. I'm pretty sure, in the near future, I'll even be able to heal your wound completely, All Might." I feigned embarrassment and just laughed at his words.
All Might smiled broadly at me and thanked me sincerely that I had slightly alleviated his injury, even if it was only by a little bit.
Now that everything was done, it was now really time for them to leave. They made their way to the front door, followed behind by our family.
"Thank you for your hospitality and especially thank you for your help, Jin-shounen. I heard you're going to enroll at U.A. High School. I look forward to it! GOODBYE! HAHAHA!"
And this marked the end of the first meeting between the current and the future Symbol of Peace..

JAsura I briefly wanted to address something concerning some comments.
First of all, those who literally tell me to do something or else they are going to drop it, just drop it.
I don't actually even understand why some people are threatening with dropping this fanfic, should the decision I made not be the same as what they wanted, and, without trying to sound offensive, I honestly don't even care. It's not like I make any money out of this, or know and follow who and how many people are actually reading this fanfic.
And second, just as a reminder, I have already many chapters saved up which means that the already written story of mine won't or can't really change that much.
For example, even if the majority voted for 'taking One For All', I wouldn't change the chapter since doing so would completely change the following story and chapters that are already based on the premise that the MC didn't take it.
Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. Thanks for all of your support and have a good read, I guess!
