Chapter 154: Amoung the Flames (2)
Glynda screamed in pain as she was flung out of Ozpin's office. She was bruised, burned, and bloody; plus she was sure that at least two of her ribs were cracked. As she fell, she used her magic to conjure a wind to break her fall and to amplify her voice a few hundred times. Once she was on the ground safely, she shouted at the top of her lungs,

Glynda: "EVERYONE! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! OZPIN AND SALEM ARE BEING CONTROLLED!" Glynda shouted, her voice being carried by the winds surrounding her. "IF YOU SEE THEM, FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE!"
.
Carried by the wind, Glynda's message reached every student and staff member on Beacon grounds. But as soon as she was done with her message, she had to throw herself away from where she landed as Ozpin came down with a stomp. Glynda rolled to her feet just as Salem came floating down from Ozpin's destroyed office.

The three had a star off to see who would move first. It became apparent that none of them would move first without some sort of incentive. However, the person that took the first move wasn't one of the three.

Port, having heard Glynda's announcement, rounded a corner and leveled his [Blowhard] at Salem first. Before Port could fire, he was impaled by an earth spike summoned by Salem. Port didn't stand a chance as his aura barely slowed down the spike as it pierced his abdomen. Port coughed blood as he nearly dropped his weapon, but he held on and fired a shot at Salem. Unfortunately, the shot went wide.

Glynda didn't look. Though her heart ached, she didn't look at the dying Port. She knew that the instant she did, those two would take action.

Logan dipped, ducked, and dodged as he weaved through the Brother Gods' attacks. As he did so, Logan attacked when he could. Dealing little damage since the Brother Gods would regenerate as fast as Logan attacked. He was starting to get aggravated at this all since it was going nowhere.

Nox: "Just fall already!" Nox shouted as Logan dodged another attack from the two of them.
Lux: "This is getting nowhere." Lux growled as he stepped back. "Brother, we need to fight as one if we are to get anywhere with these mortals."
Nox: "Fine..." Nox agreed and pulled back.

Logan took this chance to take a breather as the Brother Gods stared at him. Logan kept his guard up as the two stared. Then without any warning, Nox charged forward with a sword made of darkness while Lux summoned a bow made of light. Lux shot three arrows made of light at Logan who was forced to dodge while defecting a sword slash from Nox. Logan cursed and continued to dodge as Nox gave him no room to fight back and Lux was aiming for when Logan was off balance.

Finally, after leading them around for a while, they both lost their glow.

Magus: "Logan!" Magus shouted as the Homunculus collapsed to the ground. "Their divinity is gone! They can only rely on magic now!"

Logan got what Magus shouted and implied. Magic relied on the mana in the air and one's body. But with the way they've kept Remnant for Karma knows how long, mana was in short supply. For Logan, however, that was a moot point as he didn't need the mana in the air. His body had his [System] to fuel his magic and his abilities didn't require mana; just his will.

Now, it was a whole new game.

Weiss: "Klein, do you know what's wrong with her?" Weiss asked as she watched Klein inject something into Ruby's arm.
Klein: "I'm not sure what it is." Klein answered truthfully. "I'm just glad the sedative knocked her out. And I gave her some morphine on top of that. All that we can do now is to wait it out."
Willow: "Thank you, Klein." Willow spoke up seeing Weiss's worried expression. "If anything changes, call us." She said as she guided Weiss away from Ruby's side.

Once they were out of the room where Ruby slept, Willow stopped Weiss.

Willow: "Weiss, what was the last thing you two were doing together before this started?" Willow asked Weiss, putting both hands on her shoulders.
Weiss: "We were having tea." Weiss answered.
Willow: "Could it have been poison?" Willow asked.
Weiss: "No, we drank from the same pot." Weiss denied. "Plus Ruby said that her eyes were itching before this."
Willow: "Then what could have caused this?" Willow wondered.
Weiss: 'Could it have something to do with her Silver Eyes?' Wiess thought but never voiced it.

Raven: "Tai, how is she?" Raven asked as soon as she heard what happened to Summer.
Tai: "Summer's asleep, for now." Tai said tiredly, and one could see the bags under his eyes.
Raven: "Do you think it might have something to do with the old era? With magic?" Raven asked after making sure they were alone.
Tai: "I think it might be." Tai spoke.
Raven: "Have you tried calling Salem or Ozpin?" Raven asked as she took a seat next to Tai, putting a hand on his knee in comfort.
Tai: "I've tried calling them both since this started." Tai shook his head. "They didn't answer and they haven't called me back."
Raven: "What about Logan?" Raven asked. "He could know what to do."
Tai: "I can't get a hold of him either." Tai sighed. "It's like he dropped off the face of Remnant."
.
Just then, Qrow ran in panting. The two looked at him in surprise as Rave quickly stood up and moved towards him. Qrow looked as if he just escaped death.

Tai: "Qrow, what's wrong?" Tai nearly shouted when he saw the look on his face.
Qrow: "They got to Salem and Oz." Qrow panted.
Raven: "What are you talking about?" Raven asked as she shook him.
Qrow: "The Brother Gods." He spoke. "The Brother Gods have returned and mine-controlled Oz and Salem!"
Tai: "Qrow, are you serious?!" Tai asked
Qrow: "I was on my way here when I got the call." Qrow told them, "Peach was calling all available hunters to combat them. I could hear explosions in the background and them shouting about the Brother Gods' glory."
Tai: "What the hell is going on?!" Tai exclaimed. "Is it the end of the world or something?"
Qrow: "I don't know Tai." Qrow said as he stood straight. "But a few things are for sure, the Brother Gods are back and Salem and Ozpin are being controlled."
Raven: "We need to get to Beacon." Raven said after some thought. "We need to help put Ozpin and Salem out of commission. From there, we figure out where Logan went. He could help shed some light on what's going on. Plus, the people look up to him, they'll listen to his orders and suggestions."
Qrow: "Agreed," Qrow thought the same before looking at Tai. "Tai, you stay here and watch Summer. With her out of commission and the fact that her eyes are out until she gets better, we need someone to watch over her."
Tai: "Okay, be safe out there." Tai said after considering their words. "Glynda should be there still, fighting on the front lines," Tai told them. "She wouldn't leave Dorothy alone."

Raven nodded her head and drew [Omen]. After slashing the sword down, Raven used her semblance to open a portal straight to Glynda. Once it was open, Qrow and Raven bid goodbye to Tai and dove through. What they found on the other side was horrifying.
