Chapter 2: Going Hunting
As I wake up I freak out for a moment trying to figure out where I am. Then as I started to remember all that had happened the day before I calmed down. As I stood up and brushed myself off I looked around again. It was early in the morning the birds were chirping, it was quite peaceful. It was a pretty big valley with only a few trees closer to the mountains. There was an opening on one side with a lake that went as far as the eye can see and the other end, is a forest with a lot of thick trees.
[User is awake we can get started with deciding what were going to be doing]. "Could you stop calling me user and just call me Ryan. We should also think of a name for you so i don't have to keep calling you system". [ What would you like to call me]. "Hmm. How about Sylvia that's a good name and its close to system." [As you wish i will be called Sylvia, now onto what to do about the future.]
"Yes. Yes. I think going to a town would be worth while to gain some knowledge but for now i think ill build a base of operations in this valley cause its so peaceful and i need somewhere to sleep for a while i explore around this forest and mountains. I also want to raise my level before i leave the valley in case i come across some trouble heading to a town." So i walked to the forest to get some materials to build my house. First i needed some tools so i broke some sticks off of a tree and found some stones to make an ax . Sense i had [Basic Item Manipulation] I was able to meld the handle and the stone ax head into a single entity maeking it stronger. I also sharped the stone ax head so that it was quite sharp.
This all took only a couple of minutes but It still took me a little while to get the hang of using my skill. But after i finished that i was starving. "Hey Sylvia is there any animals in this forest. Because you said creatures don't usually come into the valley does that mean they stay in the forest "
[You are correct the only reason no creatures come into the valley is because there is a magic vein that runs through here. Most lower level creatures will die if exposed to such a high density of magic energy.]
"So you keep saying creatures why not just say animals? " [Animals are creatures with low levels. If an animal gets a high enough level it can mutate into a monster. Creature also encompass smarter and stronger life forms such as humans and other sentient creatures.] "So what level do animals become monsters?" [Most animals can mutate around level 10 but most dont gain enough levels to mutate] "So how do they mutate and how do other creatures gain levels?" [Well the way most people level is by absorbing magic energy from killing strong creatures. Or buy eating food that has a decent amount of magic energy.] "So if absorb enough magic energy i can get stronger?" [ Yes you can gain a good amount of magic energy from killing. You could also gain it through magic herbs meat. But magic energy takes time to refine so if you take in to much you will die. That is why most things stay out of this valley. But for you its a bit different sense you have the system. You can gain all the energy from killing a creature with out letting any escape and you can also absorb a larger amount of energy explaining why you can survive in this valley for longer then a few minutes at level one. If you check your info you can see that just from staying in this valley for a night you've already gained and refined a large amount of energy causing you to level]
So i checked my info and sure enough i had gained two levels making me level three. i also had two more skill points so I leveled [Basic Item manipulation] into [Intermediate Item manipulation]. Which should allow me to make items stronger, sharper, and heavier then they should be. Which i used to make my ax extremely sturdy and as sharp as a steel ax. Then for my other skill point i chose to save it for when i needed a skill.
So I headed off into the forest to find something to eat. Its a fairly thick forest with lots of shrubbery and a thick canopy of leaves. Sense there's only enough sunlight for me to see where i'm going its a little hard to navigate at first. The first creature i come across is a deer,but its covered in muscle and has antlers that look like super sharp.
"Sylivia why is that deer super buff." [Ryan that is a level five deer that has mutated its strength and durability so that it strong and durable but not very smart.
"I thought you said most animals mutate around level ten." [Most due but sense this is so close to the valley and theirs such a large amount of magic here the creatures will be stronger and mutate faster.]
So I decided to climbed a tree near it. I use my makeshift ax to chop some of the sticks around me. Then i use [Basic Item Manipulation] to sharpen the tip so its sharp enough to pierce through skin. Using my skill requires a lot of focus and wears me out pretty quick but only sharpening the ends isn't to hard.
So I bring my arm back ready to throw the makeshift spear. As i release the spear it fly's just slightly short of my goal and lands in front of the deer's face. But it did the trick, The deer looks up from eating grass and stairs at me for a moment before charging straight at me. As the deer is running towards the tree i'm in i throw my ax at the charging deer. My ax fly's true and hits the deer right between the eyes digging its way to the hilt. That does the trick as the deer slowly stops moving as its life fades away.
"so Sylvia why was this deer only called a deer when it was mutated." [Because it did'nt change species even if a deer mutates unless it mutation makes it a new species it will just get stronger but will hit a wall that only if it can evolve into a new species can it overcome.]
So I climb down the tree and look at my kill. Its a nice big deer with some pretty big antlers. I take some more sticks from around me and line then up into a square Then change them into a board with my skill. Then i take some sticks and put them on the bottom perpendicular to the others to make it easier to slide through the forest. Then I use my skill to fuse them together to make a sled.
Then i put the deer on the sled and pull it with some plat fiber string which i made out of a bunch of leaves crushed together. Then i head back to the valley. Once i'm back in the valley away from the forest i start dismembering the deer. I put the blood into a hole and cover it. After that i hang the skin to dry on a makeshift rack made out of sticks. I then start a fire by hitting rocks together and letting it spark. Then i have a nice meal of deer meat.Then i start making the rest of the meat into jerky so It doesn't spoil and i have a supply of food on my journey.
After i'm finished with my meal i head to the lake to wash up and get some water. By the time i'm done hunting and cooking its around mid day so its a bit hot but its bearable. So after I've calmed my stomach its time to get to work on my camp.

MatthewR59 I updated and made the first two chapters some what better i will work on the other two later. theres probely still mistakes and stuff that dosent make sense if you could tell me in the comment i will try and fix it.
P.S the other chapters might not make sense if you read them after this cause i changed some stuff but feel free to read anyways but i should change them soon.
