Chapter 2: Chapter 1
After finishing my reports, I head off to my apartment. Entering my apartment, I take off my shoes and notice a note from my roommate, Momoko, saying:
"Had some friends over and made some food. I accidentally made extra so have some if you like, I hope my cooking isn't bad
- Momoko"
I smile. Momoko is a sweet girl and she helps me out with my tough times. I check the refrigerator and see that there is some onigiri on a plate with a sticky note saying
"Reserved for Kaoru :)"
I giggle and take the plate of onigiri. I take a bite and smile, the onigiri was delicious. The fish was a little spicy, not a fan. I head to the living room with the plate and turned on the TV. I switched it over to the news and continued to eat while watching TV.
Sooner or later, Momoko comes in.
"Kaoru! Kaoru! Look! Look!" Momoko shouts."Hm? What is it?" I ask while turning to Momoko." Guess! Guess!" she replies. I ponder. Quickly, I noticed that her hair is shorter, up to her neck. She also dyed her tips magenta, a very pretty color in my opinion."You cut your hair short and dyed your tips." I say, "You look good!" I give her a thumbs up. "You think so? My boyfriend said I would look good but I was hesitant at first, but now I feel so much better that you agree too!" She said with a smile."Wait what? You have a boyfriend?!" I was quite shocked, I never knew about this."Oh yeah! I have a boyfriend now! His name is Kyoya!"
"Like from Ouran Highschool Host Club?"
"Yup! And he looks just like him, except with blonde hair."
"You're such a weeb."
"You too." She giggles,"Hey! When is your day off?"
"Tomorrow, why?"
"Because I think, no, I KNOW you'll look good with short hair! So maybe we can get you a haircut!"
I nod in agreement,"Ok! Tomorrow it is!" We both high five.
I look at myself in the mirror, staring at my short, brown hair."You look so good Kaoru! You might be even better than me!" Momoko compliments, clapping as well. I bow to the employees and we leave.
That was the last time I had a fun, happy memory with Momoko. She changed, a lot. Momoko spends all her time with Kyoya and leaves me is the dust. She started to smoke and spend all her time with Kyoya at clubs that I don't even call her my roommate anymore. I miss the old her: Loving, kind, and most of all, a friend. Why can't I relive the past? Why can't things be the same? Somebody tell me!
Now I'm alone...
