Chapter 18: Pretty Boy
With Kara
"Kara if you like this boy why are you ignoring his calls." Alex crossed her arms staring at her adopted sister.
"I broke his nose." Kara said in a low tone just loud enough for Alex to hear.
"How."
"He kissed me and for a second I forgot everything, but the moment i returned the kiss-" Kara frowned remembering the sound. "I lost control and luckily it was only a broken nose."
"So what you broke his nose, he obviously doesn't mind he's still calling."
"It doesn't matter if he's still calling I can't go on another date with him." Kara looked at the phone as it ring again.
"You're afraid?" Kara frowned hearing Alex.
"Of course I'm afraid he's the first guy I've liked but in the end he's human I don't want to be the reason he gets hurt or worse dies." Kara huffed sitting down in her chair.
"Then you have to tell him."
"Tell him what?" Kara asked.
"Anything as long as it gets him to stay away, Sometimes we have to lie to the people we love to protect them." Alex wasn't sure if that piece of advice was for Kara or herself. "Well I'm headed back to the lab, See ya Kara love you." Alex made her way outside soon reaching a black truck.
"Are you sure you're ready?" A male voice asked as Alex entered the vehicle.
"As ready as I'll ever be Director Henshaw." Alex's stared into his eyes showing her resolve.
"Well then your training begins first thing tomorrow, Agent Danvers."
Next Day
"This is Kara Danvers, I'm not home right now feel free to leave a message."
Eddie frowned as his call once again went to voice mail. He figured Kara was just to embarrassed to talk to him but now he wasn't so sure.
His thoughts were cut short as he heard his phone ringing. Quickly answering the Phone Eddie smiled when he heard her voice. "Hello,"
"Eddie it's Kara I was wondering if you could meet me at Pop's Diner it isn't far from National city college."
"Right now?"
"Yeah I'm going on break soon and it's as good a place to meet as any."
"I'm on my way." Eddie said hanging up the phone he quickly grabbed a Jacket before walking out the door.
"Pop's Diner." Eddie said to the man standing in front of the backseat door. "Asap." The man nodded opening the door allowing Eddie to enter before walking around to the driver's side.
Eddie hired this man for a reason he was said to know National City like the back of his hand, and he didn't disappoint they quickly reached Pop's Diner a quaint place with a retro vibe.
Eddie smiled as he could see Kara through the window she was smiling as she delivered milkshakes to a table of four.
Eddie quickly walked up the stairs opeming the door the bell chimed and Kara smiled turning to him.
"Have a seat I'll be done in a couple of minutes." Eddie nodded walking to a table in the bsck of the Diner.
Kara soon arrived still wearing her work uniform she smiled taking a seat across from Eddie. For a couple of minutes there was just silence until finally Kara strengthened her resolve.
"Eddie I really like you," Kara paused as she looked at Eddie. "I mean you're like the first guy I've ever like But," Kara paused again.
"But you're not ready for a serious relationship." Eddie finished her sentence.
"How'd you know?." Kara asked surprised.
"Kara I've been calling you for days getting no response. I thought it was because my nose started to bleed and you thought it was your fault. But that couldn't have been your fault at all so it had to be something else."
Kara was relieved hearing that "Yep that's why I'm just not ready for a serious relationship. With college and work , and even once i finish college I'll be busy."
"It's fine Kara, I won't be in National City for Mitch longer anyway, I'm leaving for Starling city Tomorrow that's why I've been calling so much."
"You're leaving," Kara frowned.
"Yeah I'm joining the academy there. This is probably the last time we'll see each other for a while. Let's exchange emails so we can keep in touch next time we meet I'll buy you dinner."
Kara nodded with a sad smile she was starting to regret listening to Alex she wasted so much time, time she could have spent with Eddie before he left. They talked for a little longer before Kara had to get back to work.
Eddie wasn't surprised with the way things went The EL family was known for giving up there happiness to protect others. Eddie couldn't change her mind even if he tried this only made him realize how weak he was without all of his powers. He could only do his best to get them back as quickly as possible.
2 Days Later
Eddie was standing in Line amongst at most 20 other people.
"Welcome to the Starling City Police Academy, I know there aren't many of you but chances of all of you becoming police officers are slim. Well I'll be the one getting each and everyone of you into shape. That includes you fatty," The sergeant said eyeing the fat guy with blonde hair standing next to Eddie.
"What's your name big boy."
"My name is Joe Ferlin Sir." He yelled causing the Segent to chuckle.
"From now on you will be known as Fat Joe. What about you, we get a couple female recruits every couple years."
"McKenna Hall, Sir," Eddie was surprised hearing not only did he know her from his past life he had run into her a couple times back in his partying days.
"Well Mrs.Hall I think you have a better chance at making it than some of the people here. I mean look at them especially this one he's nothing but a Pretty Boy."
Eddie sighed knowing he was being singled out, even the previous Eddie was known as Pretty Boy in the police department before he became a detective.
"What's your name pretty boy?"
"Eddie Thawne, Sir." Eddie spoke in a monotone voice.
"Well Eddie I think we have a fun couple of months ahead of us." The sergeant chuckled "Be up bright and early tomorrow morning I wanna see how many of you last the week."
AN: 1 Question Lemons or Nah. Everyone knows in season 1 of the flash Eddie is a cop but he originally started in Keystone I've changed that because Starling City is where all the interesting things happen. So once again Lemons or Nah??
