Chapter 3: Perfection
Rosalie knew that the aura was different as soon as she opened her eyes. The ceiling was ivory in color which indicated that it obviously wasn't hers. She remembered the doctor's words when he was checking her- "She is bonded."
She was annoyed and curious at the same time. Annoyed, because she didn't want to be depended on someone for her energy. Curious, because she wanted to know who her soulmate was. Her trail of questions were taking her to some another world so, she shook her head coming back to her senses. And then, she realized that she was touching something cold- ice cold. She even noticed a golden spark in her heart. The dread came to her mind. Was she laying there with her soulmate? She clearly had no idea.
She turned to her left side with caution. Her mind was blowing with questions which were unanswered. Then, she exhaled deeply. The person she was staring at was inhuman. He was pale, had bronze tousled hair that perfectly matched with his face. He had dark eyebrows. He was prefect. This couldn't surely be her soulmate, could it? She questioned herself several times. His eyes were closed and he was frowning. Was he in pain? She questioned herself again.
The golden glow made her feel warm and comfortable even if she was lying beside a stranger whom she didn't know at all. She didn't even realize how cold his skin was- all due to the warmth. Although she didn't want to give in to the weakness and sleep, she did after reasoning for what seemed a long time with her subconscious brain.
The person who woke up this time was Robert Tennyson. He was actually awake all the while- his eyes were just shut as the pain and now the warmth made him annoyed.
He stared at the now sleeping girl beside him. The girl with chestnut colored hair, pink lips and a pale complexion. Robert had thought that his soulmate would be ordinary- a human. He was a little annoyed when he found that she was an enchantress but it was excused by the fact that she was beautiful and in fact chosen for him by the universe. He stared at her for a while, judging her looks quietly. He hadn't bothered to move at all- in case it woke her up?
Robert had never bothered to care for anyone. He was quiet and cold to almost everyone. But this was different. He knew that the bond was making him crazy. The scent coming from her body made him crave for her and that made him bothered about the girl beside her- the girl he barely knew.
When Rosalie opened her eyes and turned slowly towards her soulmate, she was quite surprised. This time he was awake- surfing his phone quietly. She quickly looked over to the other side. Then, it stroke her- his skin was as cold as ice. The dread came to her mind once again. He couldn't be what she thought he was, right? He couldn't be a vampire, could he? No, her luck wouldn't be so annoying.
"Hello" he spoke after a moment of silence. Rosalie turned towards him removing her hand in the process. "Ugh.." she exclaimed as the pain in her head reminded her about the bonding.
Robert quietly eyed her, waiting for a response. She looked annoyed but exhausted at the same time.
"H-hi" Rosalie stuttered staring at him. The brilliant force of his stare made her cheeks red. She dropped her gaze and fiddled with her fingers.
Robert hadn't said anything more. He was watching her cautiously, watching her movements, following her stares throughout the room. She had also stayed quiet- the silence affecting none of them.
"Why are your hands cold?" Rosalie asked out of the blue.
This made Robert smirk and she frowned in response.
"You don't really know who I am, do you?" He asked, his eyes amused.
"No" she answered sternly.
"I'm Robert Tennyson." He shrugged replying confidently.
Rosalie froze in her place- her worst nightmare had come true.
