Chapter 7: Better is Better
Mark and Lydia were both excited and scared, if they had understood this man correctly their child was extremely special. "Are we understanding this correctly, our child literally has no limitations to his growth; unlimited potential if you will?" Mark couldn't entirely wrap his head around it even as he spoke the words himself.
"Yes Mr. Gin that is correct. As long as he is nurtured in the correct way and does not damage himself during training or during a fight, he can continue to grow and evolve with no limitations. As for how far he can go that is up to him, even we do not know the full extent these individuals are capable of. It is no exaggeration to claim that each of these children are more capable of destruction than a fusion bomb. Their ability to create is only limited by their own knowledge and imagination. That is part of the reason we are here. One way or the other we will have to keep tabs on him to make sure that he doesn't stray down an incorrect path." Agent had seen these people many times, some of them put Mother Teresa of the past to shame, others were basically the worst villains ever imagined. All in all they were just like other people; they loved, and hated all the same, the only difference being they actually had the power to follow through with whatever they set their minds to.
"That's fairly scary, if I'm being honest. You said one way or the other. What does that exactly entail?" Lydia was the most scared. As a newborn mother, her protective instincts were abnormally strong, and to boot she was scared for a wide variety of reasons not even she herself could expound upon.
"We will get to that in a little bit." Agent wasn't so much worried with their choice in the future. It wasn't as if they would kidnap Eisen, sure they may have a larger picture to look at. But, at the end of the day they had made plenty of unbreakable vows to be the 'good guys' and those vows were quite unquestionably unbreakable. If they so much as thought of violating their oaths their souls would be struck with so much pain they could become little more than vegetables. Let alone if they actually did something, even a minor offense like taking a bribe to look the other way would result in their bodies collapsing at the molecular level leaving nothing but ash and elements.
"If you can remember I said Eisen is special in more than one way? We have reason to believe Eisen is part of a project that has been running in the background of Earth since before Humans made villages. Very, very few people are actually aware of this project. You could call it God's fail safe. A backup plan if you will. As for which God or if it even is A God or multiple God's, we have no idea. In fact even the handful of people who know about it, know very little. The only concrete thing we do know is that at any given time there are a few people among the human race that have Ascended, or even Rebirthed. There is a very big difference, as for how big only those individual people know."
"Wait, are you telling me that our child is not our child? That he is in fact some kid of human who has been jumping body to body since before Christ and the record-able history?" Mark was extremely livid. He knew that the Private Government would want his child, after everything that had been said in the last hour or so; he wasn't even sure he trusted himself raising Eisen. Which only made his desire to keep the Governments paws off of his son.
"Yes, and no. Eisen is without a doubt 100% your child. 50-50 you and her, so to speak. However he has some advantages that normal people do not. For instance he can remember his past lives, and he knows more about the way the Laws of our reality work than just about everyone else that is alive. He is most likely capable of miracles and there are other things that we have been made aware exist that we do not have the privilege of knowing" Agent himself knew very little. Just enough to allow the parents to make an informed decision. At the end of the day his job was to protect Eisen until a suitable Permanent Protector was chosen to replace him. Even that person would have almost a similar amount of knowledge. The only way Agent could learn more, would be if he was assigned to be Eisen's protector himself. Obviously staying in Eisen's shadow would allow him to see first hand how these individuals progressed.
"If I'm not incorrect you experienced a rare phenomenon during child birth? An influx of electromagnetic energies, possibly including a near death experience for your child? The energies are what alerted us of Eisen's possible existence, as for the tests ordered by the doctor. Well those just helped confirm that there is in fact a high probability that Eisen has ascended or rebirthed. In fact there is a great deal that he may be possible of understanding at this very moment. But, until he chooses to communicate there is nothing we can do to force him. He has a very strange protection, I'm ashamed to admit when we first learned of these individuals we 'kidnapped' a few to protect both themselves and the world. However, the 'bad luck' that followed was on such a scale it cost us nearly an entire decade in budgets just to repair everything. If we had continued, well I shudder to think. It has been made perfectly clear to us that these individuals can be persuaded, however if they are coerced into doing something… bad things happen. The rate of escalation for these events, well put simply. The first day you trip on a rolling can, the next day the electrical grid overloads setting your house on fire, the third day your friends houses are found to be infested in rare and deadly termites. By day four… you might get hit by a meteorite." Agent himself shuddered. Of course these events had happened long before he was born and inducted into the Private Government, however there were still videos around.
The first military base one of these children were kept at burned down around the child on the third day. The weird thing about it, besides the child and his entire room being completely unharmed; was the fact that everything in direct contact with any surveillance equipment was unharmed as well.
Wires, cameras, computers, servers. Everything within inches was untouched and around was nothing but ash and ruble. It was as if something wanted to make sure people understood the consequences of offending these people.
"So not only does our child have unlimited potential, he is some kind of Guardian of what; the Universe?" Lydia was starting to become confused, 'isn't this a bit too much, not only is he one of hundreds of children born naturally in a year, he is some kind of guardian that probably doesn't exceed 10 people' She felt like she needed a drink, or something a tad bit stronger if she was honest.
Agent himself was thoroughly impressed, these people were taking it fairly well. Almost everyone freaked, it was pretty much par for the course actually. The last family he had talked to actually tried to shoot him, and their child only had unlimited potential… He couldn't imagine the ridiculousness these people must be feeling towards himself. "That is an apt explanation, as for Guardian, well we're not so sure. It would be better to explain it as a balance keeper maybe. We are not truly privy to the knowledge or powers included. In fact it isn't entirely incorrect to say Eisen is outside of the laws made by humans. Rather he is subject to the laws of nature, that is all we have been made aware of. It won't stop someone from arresting him or putting him in jail. But, it most likely won't take long before he is freed in one way or the other."
'Mos, what is this bald headed chicken talking about?'
*Eisen wants Mos to keep it simple, correct*

*Eisen can earn ascension points in his life to spend on ascending his current limits, every ascension grants points for rebirth, which is a tier higher than ascension and grants world shaking buffs. I believe one of the first users of the system made many video games revolving around the concept. While not entirely correct, it would be understandable to use those games as a working theory*
'So I get points for what, missions, actions, certain items or knowledge? Then use those points to ascend, or reset to what? A certain point in time? After ascending I would get Rebirth points, which would allow for some God like buffs or skills?'
*It would not be incorrect to think of it in those terms*
'So, using the Mosaic System, I'm supposed to step from Human, to Demi-God, to God? Mos, I'm supposed to become a God?!? You're getting ridiculous. And if I've reincarnated so many damn times why don't I remember. You're just being petty again.'

*Mos is a self learning A.I. Mos recommends Eisen not being so stupid if Eisen wishes for Mos to sound more normal*

'Great a smart ass, but that's still super vague Mos. Are you telling me if I do anything to make myself, someone, or something, better I'll get rewards? That's OP.'
*Incorrect, Eisen must accomplish becoming better, not trying to be better.*
'Still pretty OP, what constitutes, being better Mos, what if I can do 5 pushups, but tomorrow do 6 pushups. I became better, do I get rewarded?'
*Probably, however it would not be by much. And if you went from 500 pushups to 501 pushups it would be even less*
