Chapter 4: The kitten and the Unique Summon
Imagining what he looked like right now while glaring at a kitten, Damian didn't know what to feel.
After calming himself down, he then looked at the kitten again.
He wants to know what kind of black kitten it is for it came from the premium wheel.
There should be something impressive about it.
No matter what, he didn't think that it was a normal kitten.
'Inspect'
A window appeared in front of him as he used the command to inspect the cat.

Damian carefully put the information in his mind.
It was just like status in a game.
But unlike from games, he can't see any Hp or Mp whatsoever, there are only that Vitality B and Magic C which probably corresponds to the kitten's increase in health and mana if it were a game.
There were no numbers representing the stats, there are only letters.
Looking at the highest stat 'agility', it was currently BB. After B, it would be obvious that it would be followed by A, but the question then is what follows?
If he used most games and fantasy books he read as a guideline, then it would be S. Sometimes it was the strongest, but there are times that there would be more grades stronger than it.
Either way, B could be considered above average in those games, so it should be pretty impressive considering it had the words Heroic stamped on it.

Just like how a shiny monster is better than a normal monster in a certain game, it probably works that way too, he thought with a nod.
Now looking at the skills, there are two active skills which are Shadow Arts and Water Art, then there are three passive skills with two of it being Heroic.
The Heroic Skill: 9 Lives speaks for itself, it probably corresponds to having nine lives or something.
If it really is, then it would be a really useful skill and it was better if he had it himself.
He didn't know what the skills are about but there is a way to know what the skill's mean.
He closed the window and called the menu again.
This time it was to use the 'Catalogue'
As he opened the Catalogue, he could see Items, Monsters, Skills, and etc.
He chose the skills category and filtered it to only the unlocked ones.
There he saw the skills.
[Shadow Arts (Active)] - Can use shadow magic
[Water Arts (Active)] - Can use water magic
[Aquamarine (Passive)] - Do not need to breathe underwater.
[Heroic Skill: Body of Shadow(Passive)] - Body becomes a shadow, any physical damage suffered from a predicted attack would consume mana instead.
[Heroic Skill: Nine Lives(Passive)] - Revive in your shadow until all the lives are depleted. Takes 1 year of cooldown to gain 1 life, maximum of 9.
As he read the description of the skills, he was getting more and more impressed with the kitten. The two heroic skills are pretty much overpowered.
And as to give honor to their overpowered might their fonts were even colored silver.
'A kitten is stronger than me'
He then moved to the Monster section in the catalog and selected the heroic shadow cat.
Looking at its description, now he knows how much is one kitten worth.

Thinking so while looking at the kitten, he could see the ears of it twitching for a moment.
From the information that he received from the crystal ball, he could control or order the summons to do anything he wants.
Looking at the kitten which was still sleeping peacefully, he decided to leave it alone for a while.
He dismissed the Catalogue and then proceeded to open the gift menu.
As he did so, he could see an image of a gift box with a message.

'What is this generic online game carrot'
Confirming the gift, he could see a rainbow coupon on his hand slowly appearing from a small rainbow magic circle.
He calmed himself after inspecting the coupon, the earlier magic circle somehow reminded him on the 'dream' that brought him here.

Confirming the use of the summon, the coupon began disintegrating from his hands as a magic circle slowly appeared in front.
There were no colors this time, it was like it was just pure magic or so.
As the magic circle appeared it began to grow brighter and brighter.
Thick white smoke then appeared from the circle slowly.
"Mew!"
A cry suddenly sounded from his right side as he saw a shadow run in front of him.
Looking at the shadow, he realized that it was the kitten.
Despite being surprised at the kitten's awakening, he puts his attention more of what's in front.
*Hiss!
The kitten is currently hissing in front of him appearing on guard.
As the thick smoke spread, he thought that it somehow smelled like medicine, or like the smell of a hospital's air.
After the magic circle gives a bright flash of light, it then fades away.
The smoke then slowly dissipates to show what's inside.
Then looking carefully, he couldn't help but be dumbfounded...
A pile of meat is currently in front of him.
With parts of a human body showing here and there.
He could see a slender arm right on the side, and two slender legs behind.
It's like when a human being was mashed turning into something like corned beef.
What's only left distinguishable was only the legs and one remaining arm.
Looking carefully at the corned meat in front, he could see something that looks like a marble...
But then something weird happened.
The marble suddenly turned around on its own.
And then now he knows, that it wasn't a marble all along...
It was an eye...
And it just turned around to look at him...
