Chapter 4: Imprint
I roll around trying to get myself together when my door opens. I quickly sit up(reflex), "hey Mom" my mom walks in with a tray of food. She sits it on the counter then sits on the bed next to me. "So is there anything you'd like to tell me?", mom says with a look of anger behind her smile. I don't know what to say, I knew she'd find out about the imprint. I guess I don't have a choice but to tell her. So I breathe trying to cool down because my body's still hot. "Mom I'm sorry I should have told you right away when he imprinted on me", the words roll off so fast. I think they were to fast because my mom is in shock. "Mom?", she takes another minute then gets closer. "You got imprinted?", her words full of shock surprise me wasn't that why she was mad?
"I thought you knew","No I was talking about you not going to your classes". Me and mom sit and talk about what happened (leaving out the touching part). I told her how this was the first time my wolf took control over my body and spoke to me. How it felt like instinct to walk beside him, to follow his lead.It was so weird yet like second nature. We set for hours, mom said that our families will soon have to meet. And that we'll have to go through the imprinting ceremony. Little does she know we already broke a rule. Rule number 3:no sexually contact until after the ceremony. But I guess she doesn't have to know. The next day I go to school feeling so inpowered i it was ridiculous. I walked through the hall's with so much confidence I was amazed. I got and find De she looks at me smirking " what?" I ask laughing. "You know what, you did it didn't u?", uhh she is just to much but you gotta lovea. "No we didn't but my mom trynna get us to go through the ceremony". De starts laughing and from there we talk all the way to class. I was in a daze of confidence and pride. I felt no wrong in whatever I did. Then Jason walks in class late and sits next to me. It was like the feeling before was nothing compared to this. It's amazing I'm warm and safe wrapped up in a blanket of love and comfort. I wanna talk to him, to hug him ,to be close to him. But I can't there's no way I'll give in to this. I have to focus, brain remember you have to ask him why he did what he did. The whole class was to much I must admit I was restless.
After my other classes I go to lunch with De and there he was, sitting at our table. I wisper in De's ear and ask to sit with him alone. And of course she smirks teasing me. I go sit down but put distance between us, I may be strong but I'm also weak. When I sit down he looks up at me and ask"why so far away?". As if he doesn't know why,uhh it's irritating. No don't get mad Icarus, focus"why did you do that yesterday?". I ask and he smirks as if remembering it and I start to blush. I can feel it spread from my freckles on my olive skin to my neck. With that he giggles," to be honest I wasn't planning on doing that. It just kinda happened, it was like my wolf took over", it was kinda the same for me. I take a minute to take that in then say,"so you know that we have to go through the ceremony right".He looks at me confused, does he not now, I thought all alpha's new. "You really don't know do you?", he shakes his head no. Well dang, I sit and explain everything to him and tell him, how his gardians(special protectors) should have told him. It's very important for an alpha to know these things. Although alpha's are higher in power we still hold responsibility for our mate. Usually an alpha imprints on an Omega and because of that they have to be careful. Omegas are strong yes but delicate and precious. They have to be handled with care, not only them but receiving alpha's such as myself. The ceremony is a way of internally promising loyalty and protection. This process is very important. I'm surprised he didn't know this.
After school I go home tired and worn out. Only to be welcomed by my parents telling me to get out a proper dress. And that we'll be meeting Jason's parents tomorrow.
