Chapter 127: Yahiko Arrives
General POV
"You should be dead," stated Obito with a frown, but then he saw the eyes.
"Edo Tensei? Has Kabuto betrayed me?"
Yahiko slowly moved toward Konan while his eyes didn't leave Obito, waiting for the latter to make a move so he could respond. The orange-haired man had many things going on through his head by the information that was forced into his brain by the man that resurrected him with his strange jutsu, but all of that had to wait.
Yahiko couldn't help but clutch his fists at the anger building up inside his body. What happened to the Akatsuki? The Akatsuki were created to bring peace in a world filled with war where orphans such as them didn't have to starve on the streets.
When this man came and proclaimed to be Madara, Yahiko knew he was bad news. It was just something in his gut that told him this man was not to be trusted.
When he died, Yahiko put his trust in Nagato to continue their dream, but for Madara to corrupt his best friend.
"Wrong, Madara. The one who gave me life was somebody who wants you to lose."
"Yamamoto," hissed Obito, moving away from Yahiko.
"Hmm, so he came to stop me from getting the Rinnegan?" spoke Obito with a neutral voice, but inwards he was cursing.
Using the Izanagi has drained him quite a bit. If he fought against an undead now, he would lose not only his goal but his life.
To his surprise, Yahiko moved toward Konan.
"So that's it. He sent you to protect her from me. Well, try to save her, but the Rinnegan is mine."
Obito teleported away.
Yahiko sighed before tending to Konan's wound. Although he wanted nothing else than to punch Madara, he had to save Konan, because the wound she received was serious. Taking out the seal his benefactor gave him, Yahiko placed it on the wound to see how the healing chakra came out and stopped the wound from bleeding.
Having the time, the reanimated man searched his memories. He remembered dying to protect his friends before everything went dark. Yahiko sighed before sitting next to Kanon and closing his eyes. He wanted to see what had happened after his death.
Yahiko's eyes widened as memories rushed into his mind and he clutched his head in pain.
His death and Nagato's rage. Madara's manipulation. A version of Akatsuki he never wanted with S-ranks under Nagato in search for the Bijuu.
A man named Naruto Uzumaki who brought Nagato to the rightful path. Nagato dying while reviving Konoha shinobi. Those he hated for killing his parents. And then he heard his mission.
To save Konan.
Whoever this Yamamoto, Yahiko was thankful since he gave him a chance to save his friend.
While Yahiko was treating Konan, Obito found the place with Nagato's and Yahiko's original bodies. Not taking much time, Obito used Kamui to take Nagato's body inside where he will put the Rinnegan inside his body.
Taking out the useless eye he used for the Izanagi, Obito took Nagato's left Rinnegan and called for a Zetsu who placed it inside his orbit.
A shock of electricity ran down his body. He could feel the power of the Rinnegan and knew that he could only use one. This, however, wouldn't matter because his Kamui was an ability he relied on, too.
"This war will soon be over, anyway."
Mount Myōbokou
The Toad Elders, Ma, and Pa, were delighted to see Jiraiya coming back. With war coming, Naruto and the rest of the Jinchūriki were going to the Island Turtle, which resided in the Land of Lightning to complete their training in harnessing their Bijuu.
With Jiraiya alive, he could transfer the key of the Nine-Tails on Gerotora to Naruto. With the key, Naruto could open the seal for the cage.
At the same time, the Kages discussed with each other over the power 'Madara' had. Kisame provided a bit of information, which Mei gave the rest about his power to control the previous Mizukage.
The name Madara Uchiha sent shivers down the spines of Tsunade, knowing he was the rival of her grandfather. It wasn't a name one could take lightly.
This, together with the Bijuus, was a formidable force to fight the shinobi alliance. They, however, had also problems.
Some shinobi from Iva weren't so happy to fight together with Konoha, since some still hold a grudge against the village since their Yondaime Hokage killed many shinobi.
Not only that, but many weren't fond of fighting a war for the Jinchūriki. Many saw them as weapons rather than humans, so fighting for somebody like this created doubt.
Iwa's shinobi had no real interactions with their ones, so they also didn't care for the ones from other villages.
Even if Gaara was the Kazekage, people still feared the child that killed adults shinobi.
While Kirigakure had stopped the Kekkei Genkai hunt, people still had no real reason to help their Jinchūriki, while their Sanbi Jinchūriki was the one who was the leader of the hunters.
Even in Konoha, where Naruto saved the village by defeating Pain, there were still people grieving for losing against the Nine-Tails and hearing they were going to fight in a war against the legendary Madara Uchiha where the survival was slim... Some were not so happy.
"We have to do something about this," muttered Gaara, seeing the state the forces were in.
"And how do you expect us to do it?" grunted Onoki.
"By telling them the truth about what will happen if they won't fight," stated Tsunade, "We don't need people deserting in the middle of battle, leaving their comrades behind. We in Konoha teach our Genin what teamwork is. Those that don't want to fight will be placed into jail with their chakra network closed, and when we win, we will hold them on trial."
"None of mine will do so. They all love Yugito and B," spoke A in a loud voice before turning around.
"But if there are some, then nothing will stop me from killing them personally."
"I have a question?" asked the voice of the Third Tsuchikage.
"Since we are going to war, there is one person I haven't seen yet. You," the old man pointed at Tsunade, "There is one shinobi that exhales in situations when they are outmatched. Situations that need an excellent strategy for problems such as this. Where is that paranoid boy of Konoha, Ishizu Sasaki?"
Tsunade and Mei shifted slightly in discomfort. They knew they made Ishizu an S-rank thanks to his Fuinjutsu and paranoia to prepare for everything, yet they didn't disclose it to other nations. They didn't expect someone from another village to ask for him specifically, and it was Onoki of all.
"Ishizu Sasaki deserted the village due to a reason we are trying to figure out. We are unaware of where he currently is, but he will be treated like any other shinobi. If he doesn't contribute to the alliance, then he will be viewed as a nuke-nin and a kill on sight," Tsunade spoke the truth since lying was pointless at this state.
"A shame," the Raikage said while shaking his head, "Him being the student of the Yondaime Hokage and a Fuinjutsu expert would be a wonderful asset to the alliance."
"It matters not if Ishizu Sasaki isn't here what matter is the stability of the alliance," commented Gaara, "We, as the Kage, have to show the rest that we mean it with the alliance."
While the two sides were amassing their forces, the hidden their party was too.
"Jeez, talking about preparation," muttered Yin Yin as she watched her Sage tinkering.
"Why do you need so many barrier seals?"
Ishizu gave her a glare before continuing to stack up his stash of Fuinjutsu seals.
"Even if my plan seems good, I am still human and I could have made a mistake somewhere. There is nothing bad about being too careful with people like Obito and Edo Madara running around. Especially Edo Madara. If that guy finds out I have the Rinnegan, I will have to fight Full Body Susanoo Wood Clones at the same time.
Noooo, thank you. I value my current mortal life and I wouldn't be able to look into Kaguya's eyes after failing at this point. Only, and only after I placed the barriers will I look into Madara Uchiha's Rinnegan and tell him: Bitch, I did it first and what can you do? Right, nothing."
"I am not happy that you have to get help from those cats. You are the Panda Sage, not the Cat Sage," complained Yin Yin, and Ishizu rolled his eyes.
"I made a deal with Tamara. I will only use their cat contact to summon her so we both can perform the Gemstone Barrier. Unfortunately, this Jutsu here has over a dozen of seals and we have to perform them simultaneously without a single mistake. Not only that, but we have to go over the conditions you proposed. Some of them are ridiculous."
"Yeah, yeah. Also, you will have to do it in the middle of a war. Seems impossible to be," yawned Yin Yin, playing with a bamboo stick.
"Urgh. Of course, I know that. What do you think you will be doing in that time?" Ishizu raised an eyebrow while Yin Yin dropped the bamboo.
"Ah, man. Why do I have to do something? I am not so strong."
"You are not the only one, so don't complain! I need backup. The best time to start my plan is when Madara is fighting the 5 Kage. While it wouldn't be called a fight, as in both anime and manga, Madara never went all out. It would take his thoughts away from the rest of the war," explained Ishizu.

Broxhitman1998 I love saving those I think don't deserve to die. I really wanted Konan to have more of an impact in Naruto but sadly she died. Here I can be happy to have saved her.
