Chapter 5: PLEASE........GOD SAVE OUR BABY GIRL
"Mr and Mrs Brown I will like you two to please step into my office for some minute?" requested the doctor. They both followed doctor Williams into his office and sat down
"I will give you both a quick and brief description of your daughters condition"said doctor Williams. Making the couple to sit upright.
"Your daughter sustained some mild external injuries and also has a severe concussion, the impact of the collision injured some part of the brain,causing her brain to lose its function which if she's not operated on will lead to amnesia or death" the doctor informed the couple.
Mrs Brown was already on the verge of breaking down and stream of tears were flowing from her eyes,she clench her chest as she mutter "Please God.....don't let anything happen to my little darling angel,please....God save our baby girl".Mr Brown held her hand and squeeze it softly as he gave her an assuring look
The doctor continued his report because there wasn't too much time to waste on Elena's condition,the longer the delay,the more critical her condition becomes. "An operations has to be perform on your daughter now,her case is urgent".he paused for a while before he continue talking "My team are ready to perform the operation as I speak but we need you to know the likely challenges she might face after or during the operation then you can sign the necessary paperwork"said the doctor as he watched their reactions carefully.
She has 45% chances of coming out alive without any side effects while she has 35% chance of having amnesia and also 20% chances of death which is kind of not a problem,So Mr and Mrs Brown I will like to hear your decision on your daughter case.
They both looked at each other's eyes with a mix of fear and worry in silence .
"You have less than ten minutes to make up your mind" doctor Williams said before getting up from his seat to leave the room.
He knows that this is really a tough decision for the couple to make so he has to give them time to think it through but what made him sad was that the time left for him to safe their daughter is limited , they really have to be pretty fast with their decision. "Wait.....doctor Williams "Mrs Brown called out causing doctor Williams to halt,he turned to face them and asked "any problems Mrs Brown?"she glance at her husband who nodded in confirmation before she replied
"Please can we sign the necessary paperwork now?"she asked with a smile on her face. it took all the courage and energy left in her to give that smile,she knows that she has no other choice than to take the risk to save her daughter life and she's also glad that her husband agrees with her decision
"Oh yes,you can sign it now" he answered giving them the paperwork to sign. They handed the paperwork back to him once they were done signing.
"Doctor Williams please made sure you and your team do the best you can to save our little angel"Mr Brown who has been quiet all this while said
"We will do our best sir" doctor Williams said then walked out of the room to prepare for the operation.
