Chapter 3: Afterlife

In the realm beyond life, where tales of heaven, hell, and reincarnation abound, I find myself. It's a curious situation—I don't recall much of dying; I just know that I am dead.

In this peculiar place, I lie, or at least I think I do. As time drifts by, a realization crystallizes: whether it's heaven or hell, it's all the same here. Don't misunderstand; what you conceive in your mind becomes as real as reality can be in this enigmatic realm.

The moment of my death was painless, but in this world, there's no escaping the shock. You observe it as a bystander, yet you're intricately connected to that memory. It took me several attempts not to dwell on the details of my demise. Every time I urged myself not to think about it, thoughts flooded in. The fear, an overwhelming force, gradually enveloped my form, freezing me in place. "Run!" I screamed at my own projection, but there was no response. A dull pain initiated as the car's front collided with my legs, propelling me backward until another dull pain emanated from behind as my body struck the solid brick fence behind me

The pain compounded as the car's mass shattered my bones into fragments, tearing muscles and mashing tendons. Every fiber of my being felt the damage, and a loud cracking echoed as my spine snapped in different places against the wall. It might have seemed comical, a ragdoll spectacle, if not for the excruciating pain. My eyes widened at the sight of the driver, much too close for comfort given there should have been a car. The rear windshield shattered, sending glass toward me, leaving bruises on my skin. Fresh cuts emerged, taking some time until a pinching sensation followed. When my face resembled a canvas of an evil surgeon's experiment, I lost my sight. Blood covered my face, rendering everything opaque. I tried to wipe it away, but my hands remained motionless. The realization struck—I no longer controlled my body, and all I could do was await the next cycle of death.

I know my eyes are wide open, but sight eludes me. I feel my lungs collapsing, my brain slowly shutting off all vital functions, desperately attempting to keep me alive. Blood courses through countless cuts and open wounds until there is nothing, just darkness from which I awaken after every haunting memory.

I find myself back in this dark room, unsure if I'm sitting, standing, or merely existing.
