Chapter 53: Declined

Locking the restaurant, Wang Ming then hurried to the meat shop to get more pork belly. On the way Wang Ming kept smiling when he thought about how well the restaurant did, on the opening day. He didn't think that the restaurant would do this great, he honestly thought that he would only sell half of his pork belly at max.

Since few restaurants did well on their opening days with no advertisements. Wang Ming figured it down to two factors, the first was the food, the great smell and taste. The second which isn't any less important than the first, which is the restaurant location.

Wang Ming was sure that if his restaurant only sold mediocre food, he would have still gotten a good number of customers today. Though there wouldn't be many of them who would return if he had.

But seeing how many people that enjoyed his food today, Wang Ming felt certain that there would be many of the customers that would come back, maybe not tomorrow but some day. One significant thing, about having so many happy customers today, is that they would recommend his restaurant to their friends and family.

Arriving at the meat shop, Wang Ming saw that there was a delivery car in front of Uncle Weng's shop. Which he found odd, as people deliver goods in the morning or at night, but these guys delivered in the middle of the day. Peeking at the boxes the delivery men were delivering, Wang Ming saw they were delivering different meats, but 8 out of 10 boxes was pork belly.

This made him excited because it meant that Wang Ming didn't need to worry about Uncle Weng not having enough meat for him, at least for a few days, unless he had another big customer which also needed pork belly. There were at least 30 boxes of pork belly, each weighing about 44 pounds each (20kgs).

Seeing the deliverymen working so hard, Wang Ming waited for them to get done before entering the shop. But right before he could enter the shop, Wang Ming saw that the door of the shop fly open and Uncle Weng running out of the to give him a bear hug.

"Congratulations Wang Ming, I heard about your success. And I'm sorry."

Hearing Weng Ping congratulate him, then say sorry the second after. Wang Ming couldn't understand what was happening and why he would apologize to him.

"Don't apologize to me, Uncle Weng. You haven't done me any wrong, the meat last time was great."

"No, no, I'm not apologizing about that. One of my customers told me about your restaurant. They first told me about how great it was doing already on the first day. But they also told me about the complications that happened during the opening. That filthy nephew of mine, he brought his rotten friend to trouble you. If you didn't have a powerful friend, then I think you rot in prison."

"I can't tell you how relieved I am to see you well with no injuries. This is also why I put in a haste order for a lot of pork belly just for you. Think of it as my compensation to you. You don't have to worry about the meat supply anymore. I will supply you with all the meat you need."

Wang Ming didn't blame Weng Ping at all for what Weng Ting did. It wasn't his fault that Weng Ting was like that. So he didn't accept Weng Ping's apology, but he appreciated Weng Ping's intention. Especially the fact that he wouldn't need to think about his meat source anymore.

"Thank you, Uncle Weng. But don't apologize to me, it isn't your fault."

Seeing Weng Ping wanting to refute him, Wang Ming followed up with.

"It isn't your fault! Many people get influenced a lot by their friends. Weng Ting was childhood friends with Bo Hou Zhang that degenerate, he probably got all his bad habits from him. Let's not talk about this anymore and let me inspect the meat, I need 200 pounds of pork belly today."

Weng Ping had nothing more to say. He felt thankful for how forgiving Wang Ming is. There's nothing he could do for Weng Ting anymore. Weng Ting didn't even see him as an uncle anymore. It was time to let go of him.

Nodding at Wang Ming, Weng Ping then went into the restaurant to ready the meat for Wang Ming.

Wang Ming could have bought a sizeable amount of meat, enough to last him multiple days. Especially since he had the card, he got from Bo Hou Zhang with 1 million yuan and the 88888 yuan he got from Peng Tong. But the cooler and freezer were much better and bigger at Weng Ping's place than at Wang Ming's restaurant. He could just buy whenever he needed, and Weng Ping would just stack the rest here.

Buying daily from Weng Ping's shop also ensured that Wang Ming could check the quality each time he bought, and would make it easy for him to replace the inferior quality meat.

While waiting for Weng Ping to finish, Wang Ming thought about what new dish he could introduce to the restaurant. Though he wouldn't introduce a new recipe, at least 1-2 more months further down depending on how the restaurant's doing.

Wang Ming wanted to ride out the hype of his braised pork dish, before introducing a new one. If the restaurant also did well, he would have to buy more seats and tables and hire more workers.

Wang Ming had calculated it as he could at most do 200-300 pounds of meat a day. Which would earn him 500-800 thousand yuan a month and 6-9 million yuan a year.

Which is more than anything he had ever dreamt of. But that would mean he would, on average, maybe get 2-3 hours of sleep every day. Since it would take him roughly 10 hours to make all the food.

Then he would have to be awake and manage the restaurant until closing, which could be anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. If it was 8, then that would be 18 hours of the day after this he would need to buy all the ingredients, and finish all other business he had before sleeping a few hours before making food again.

Wang Ming didn't think that this was a suitable solution at all, but he didn't want to hire a new chef either. Since he didn't want to share all his secrets to an outsider, so until Wang Ming found a solution for it, he would need to sacrifice his sleep.

Hearing Weng Ping call for him from inside the food shop, Wang Ming stopped his thoughts for now and went inside the shop. Coming inside, he saw 5 boxes stacked up next to the counter. Wang Ming felt impressed by Weng Ping's strength since he had carried all the boxes. He had to be at least 50 years old.

"Uncle Weng, I have a card here just charge 50 thousands yuan from it. Then you can supply me a fixed amount of 200 pounds daily unless I specify anything different. But you should always have enough meat in case I need more."

Wang Ming gave Weng Ping the card he had gotten from Bo Hou Zhang. But what Wang Ming didn't expect was that the card got declined. Wang Ming felt embarrassed for being naïve, being fooled so easily by Bo Hou Zhang. Wang Ming even cockily said to Weng Ping to charge 50 thousand yuan from the card. He couldn't help but get red in his face.

Coughing to calm himself down, Wang Ming then took out 50 thousand yuan from the red packet he had gotten from Peng Tong. He didn't want to use the money, but Wang Ming didn't want to tell Weng Ping that Bo Hou Zhang had scammed him and he didn't have any money. Taking out 50 thousand, he then reluctantly gave the money to Weng Ping.

"Sorry Uncle Weng I took the wrong card, but here's cash instead I hope you don't mind!"

After talking for a few more minutes, Wang Ming then walked to the other shops in the market. But now he felt irritated, and his mood was low. He promised himself to never get scammed so easily again. Wang Ming would get revenge on Bo Hou Zhang someday.
