Several months have gone by since Evan and his friends found themselves in the town called Selina.
As it turns out Lyran and Angel have become sort of celebrities in town. Everyone seems to love them.
Each day that passes holds a new story. But for the most part it contains the same things for Evan. He has finally honed his new abilities.
Evan can now cast magic that creates Earth pillars, shoot small rocks at high velocity. He can create a flood of water if he wants. He can manipulate the wind to create a tidal wave.
His new powers are almost stronger than he can imagine, limited only by his own imagination. He has to focus himself and visualize the flow of his magic to take shape and form. Evan used to be fascinated with art and painting in his past life, therefore he's already got a knack for visualizing landscapes and whatnot. As it turns out this power was perfect for Evan. He feels unstoppable at this moment.
Cera and Evan are practicing in the wasteland as per usual.
"Alright bro, we're gonna see what you're really made of today."
Cera stood in the distance about twenty meters away. A gust of wind blew several tumbleweeds between them. Their gaze burned into each other.
For a second everything went silent like the calm before the storm.
Cera lunged forward upwards into the air. Evan countered by throwing pellets of sand into the sky. This act blinded her for a mere second allowing him to prepare his next move.
From his left side he used his magic to fling gigantic boulders at her. None the less, Cera turned her body upward. Touching off of one of those rocks she used her momentum to flip backwards like an acrobat.
Gracefully, Cera landed on her feet prepared to propel herself forward. Unfortunately, Evan had already prepared a trap for her landing. She was sinking into the ground. Evan had drenched that area with water turning it into a deadly pit of quicksand.
Evan began walking towards her believing he had won. But, in the next moment Cera teleported herself out of the muck. She appeared above Evan's head with lightning coming out of her eyes and fingertips. On reflex Evan immediately trapped her in a massive whirling sphere of water.
The roaring currents spiraled her out of control. She used her spacial powers to free herself once more. This time she ended up directly behind Evan. She charged just enough electricity into her fingertips to blast into his side. A dull thud as he collapsed on the cold sand while unconscious. Breathing raggedly, Cera looked down at him.
"congrats lil bro, you actually made me pull out all the stops on that one. Even then, I barely managed to get ya in the end. Something tells me you're gonna be a real monster one day."
