Chapter 3: The curse of the powerless hero
The tavern was closed , the inside of the Tavern is being light by some candles , the freezing breeze of the cold air slit trough my face.
I am standing in front of the entrance , Nakia is inside the bar , sitting in front of the table with her eyes locked to me.
"why don't you come here and eat with me ?" Said Nakia.
I glances my eyes , scanning every dark corners of the Tavern , after that humiliation I set my senses and thnikung pattern to the max level , I won't make mistakes anymore.
"hey ryuuji why are you standing still ?" said Nakia to me.
"just making sure no one here to make my life harder" I answered as I enter the tavern.
No one is there except me and Nakia , but I still think that this is a set up , even tho, I still accept her offer because I have no where to go , no food , nor an Information about this dangerous world.
I sat beside her resting my back on the chair as I take off my suit.
"okay than lets eat" she said smiling to me.
"before that , you have to eat and drink my food and water too" I said to her
"wait ... what ? , are you a pervert ?" said her to me feeling unsave
"no , It's just me , making sure that I survived , according to my knowledge if people want to poison someone , they will use the poison that will react and kill the victim fast , fast enough for them to take care of the bodies , after you consume my food and water ill wait about 10 minutes , even doing this , I can't assure my safety because I dont know if you have immunity to somekind of poison , so im still putting my life in the line here" I answered to her.
"well then , what do I say , I can do that , I just want to help you" Said her to me , and then she take my food and drinks and eat them a little bit , and then she start to eat her own.
while waiting for any reaction I search my suit for my phone , I found my phone and my wallet.
I immediately turn on my phone , I pushed the button and managed to set the phone on.
I wonder If it could still recieve signal
I immediately look to the top left of the screen , the power Indicator is full , I remembered that I left my phone uncharged on the day I got transfered to this world , I wonder what's happened , why did it charge it self.
then a message appears , I immediately opens it , the message said
"hey this is the light , sorry for transfering you from the powerless stone , but I believe since you really want to go here , you will survive , here some basic info for your usage"
then I opens the attachment
"rules , number one , you will die if you die , no respawn , two since you have no powers you will not able to do any damage to enemies with any weapons that you'll find in this world , but you could still be protected by shield and armours from this world , but unfortunately you will have no power to lift it so It's gonna be useless. number three , you are not immune from spells , wich means another person with supportive power can heal you , but they can't give you power up , number four , you can use tools to make something or to do some gardening so you can survive and maybe search for money , number five , you can make anything from your world before , lile warships , or even nuclear , and they will surely damage your opponents even if you are behind the wheel , weapons also work the same , but the question is , do you have the knowledge to create those things ?"
with that rules being said in the massage I got immediately sad , and also optimistic at the same time .
"hey whats that shining thing on your hand ?" said nakia with her mouth full of food.
"it's called a phone , you can communicate with another person with this , but the other person must have this device too , and this is also a source of Information" I said explaining to her.
"well It's been a while , and you are still cheerful as usual , so im gonna eat this food "
I said to Nakia and then I started to eat the food quickly.
The food really are amaizing , the chiken are so big that i can hardly eat it alone , the warm milk that Nakia gave me also taste good.
"Nakia , this is really good , why did you gave this to me ?" Said
"my dad said that I have to help another person" she answered while smiling at me.
"yeah , that's right , do you mind if I ask some question ?" I said to her while continue to feast on the food.
"yeah , just ask whatever you want to" she answered.
"okay , firsy of all , why did you have a friend like that prince ?, I mean you are different from them , you gave me food and all of this help" I asked to her.
her eyes glance at me whit a sad look , she answers
"actually , the prince and those people are just trying to protect this place , this village , where the so called "powerless hero" is summoned , if you still here , alive , you will attract another kingdom , and another hero to go here and kill you , and if we protect you , we will also be executed , they want you to gi outside the village and then die , so they can seal the stone again"
"why would they , attack a powerless person like me ? what's the advantage of that ?" I asked to her why deeply look into her eyes.
"if you are alive , the other five heroes that are summoned here will not be able to use their 100% power , but however they are still strong , stronger the best knight that every kingdom have" she said replying to me.
"let me guess , the heroes are working for five different kingdom , and all of them want the full power in order to get more advantages of those heroes ?" I said cutting her explanation.
"yes ,Im so sorry ryuuji" she said as she lowered her eyes.
"no don't be sorry , Im the one who choosed to be here at the first place , so I'll deal with it someway" I said answering her.
"I will protect you ryuuji , I swear to my father to sacrifice my life for you" she said to me while holding her sword that is sheathed beside her hips.
" I can see the face of my father because of the powerless hero , he sacrificed his own life to save my father's , and because of him my father lived longer than it should be" she said smiling to me while holding her tears.
"well , I can't hold you nor stop you if you want to follow me or help me , because I don't have any power hahahah" I said smiling kindly to her.
after we ate our meal , she cleans the table and go inside the tavern's staff room to search for something , she told me she have a very light armour that her late father forged for the powerless hero.
Meanwhile I think about some situation , I thought about a situation where the kingdom had finally realize that I had been summoned by the light.
at that time my only thought was going on a long journey to the woods to collect material that I need to make some money and maybe weapons , but I was a little bit concerned about Nakia's power.
And then Nakia came back and give me a chainmail that is made with diamonds , she gave it to me and suprisingly , I can lift it , its a little bit heavy , but I can wear it.
I immediately wear the chainmail , and then I wear my suit on top of it.
"does it feel heavy ?" Nakia ask to me.
"yeah , a little bit , but i will get used to it" I answered.
the night seems to be very cold and maybe deadly for a person with no power like me , I tried to go outside the tavern for some fresh air , but Instead , I got freezing winds
"Hey do you have some liquid that is used for creating fire ?" I asked to her.
"ah can we really make fire with liquids ? we used magic and magic scrolls for that , or some of us that can't use magic will use traditional ways to start a fire" she answered.
"hmmm , they haven't found fuel yet , I guess this might be an opportunity to me" I said to my as I look into the stary skies above me.
"ruuji , if you want to sleep , you can sleep in the tavern , I will be sleeping in my room on the second floor , if you need anything just call me , I'll sleep first okay , see you" said Nakia , and then she enters the tavern and went to the second floor.
I entered the tavern and lied down on the floor , I used the blanket that Nakia gave me while I was sleeping outside.
