Chapter 43: Withdrawal symptoms
"Lord Gold, we have returned from Kyoto... Are you alright?" Lydia asked as she noticed Gold looking a bit odd as he was seated on his bean bag.
Most people wouldn't notice, however Lydia had served Gold long enough to pick up the small clues. Restless legs, scratching his neck lightly, twitching pupils and a few other minor symptoms.
While it looked like he was just chilling as usual on the bean bag with the T.V. on, he was actually not feeling well at all.
"Hm? Oh welcome back." Gold blinked as he didn't notice her coming in. "How was Kyoto?" He asked nonchalantly, not noticing the rest of his unconscious body movements.
"Lord Gold, you do not look well." She stated, ignoring his question.
"What do you mean? I feel fine." he really wasn't sure what she was talking about.
At a surprisingly quick speed, a thermometer was somehow placed inside his mouth. "Your temperature is a little high, but it's not enough for a fever yet." Lydia pondered in thought.
"Pfft what the hell, I'm fine!" Gold spat out the thermometer in surprise.
"I don't believe so Lord Gold. I have served you long enough to notice these oddities. The differences from when you are sober and inebriated. Right now you are completely sober and are displaying multiple out of place symptoms." She professionally stated as she tried to hypothesize the reason for his current state.
Gold raised a brow for a second and looked at himself closely for a moment as he magically scanned himself. "Hm... I get it. This is concerning but you don't have to worry about it, I'm just displaying some withdrawal symptoms." he narrowed his eyes as he realized what was wrong.
"Withdrawal symptoms?"
"Yeah, recently due to some unforseen circumstances. I'm currently incapable of getting drunk or high. If I were a normal man, then I would have lost it by now. I'm unsure of how bad this will get though." He stated unsure of how bad he'll get.
"Should I take emergency precautions?"
"Possibly, however I don't think you'll need to go that far. At most, it'd be best if I were to be shut down here until the symptoms subside. If anything, I may need to just distract myself with other things. Amenities and pleasures such as games, food, sugary crap, maybe even sex to take my mind off it. Unfortunately Serafall is still busy catching up with her work." he sighed as he hadn't indulged himself in any carnal pleasure lately.
"Shall I disrobe?"
"No, I need you to be ready to keep me detained from the outside. Where is Koneko and her sister?" he asked, two cat girls might be enough to keep him occupied for awhile.
"I believe they had left for the underworld recently. Supposedly Koneko desires to clear her sister's name with the help of Miss Gremory." Lydia informed him as she was unsure of when they would return.
"Damn, in that case the next best thing would be jacking off. Make sure no one else in the house hogs the bandwidth while I'm down here." Gold clicked his tongue. Looks like he's just going to have to do it the old fashion way.
"I believe I should inform you that our modem has been destroyed."
"What!? Since when!?!?"
In response, she pointed to the ground where a broken Modem lay there. It seems Gold's body is lashing out in random bursts of violence.
"Screw it, just put your full focus on the formation when I lose my reasoning. I'll place a lock on my Gate for a few days and tell Rong not to assist me until my head is clear again." He sighed as he was beginning to lose control of his body. Years of hardcore drugs and alcohol had finally caught up to him.
"Have Jack and Jade assist you in powering the ward stones so that there are at least 2 of you at all times powering the ward." If Lydia received assistance from either of them, it should be more than enough to keep Gold detained incase he goes berserk.
"Is that truly necessary Lord Gold?" Lydia asked a little doubtfully. It's not that she looked down on Gold or anything. It's just that it was common knowledge that without his Gate or Rhongomyniad assisting him, he was the weakest as far as raw power was concerned.
"Hopefully not, but if my hypothesis is correct then it might not be enough. Plus the quality of those stones aren't high enough to withstand their full power anyway. So we will be working with quantity rather than quality." Gold stated seriously
"Understood, I'll begin the arrangements now."

THREE DAYS LATER
Akemi was strolling around town with nothing to do in boredom. Rias had gone to the underworld with Koneko for some legal reasons she didn't understand. Akeno and Yumi were off doing their own thing and she hadn't had much interractions with anyone besides Asia at school.
"There's really nothing to do..." Akemi groaned out loud. Even self training would eventually become monotonous.
"Akemi-san!" A familiar worried voice called out to her.
"Asia?" she turned to the blonde nun who looked a bit tired out for some reason. Asia had actually decided to join her when she decided to become a devil. Luckily Gold still allowed her a free room in his house.
"What's up?"
"It's terrible Akemi-san! Gold has gone crazy!" Asia yelled frantically.
"Isn't that normal for him?" Gold and crazy usually went hand in hand.
"I mean the bad kind!"
"There's a bad kind of crazy?" Obviously Gold had been a terrible influence on her.
"There's no time, Lydia-san asked me to get you!" Asia started to drag her by the arm.
"Alright, lead the way." Akemi decided she didn't have much else to do anyway. Due to her idolizing Gold, she didn't think anything could be a problem when it came to him. However she was slightly worried if it was Lydia requesting help.

"You've arrived, perfect timing." Lydia noticed the two entering the front door.
Lydia, Jack, Jade and Viser were standing around the entrance of the basement with ward stones in front of them. Their eyes closed in concentration as magical runes filled the walls and doors in front of them. They were each outputting a frightening amount of power. Even Viser was helping out as she had received some enhancements from being a roommate in Gold's house.
"Yeah, what's goi-" She started, only to be cut off.
"AAAAAARRRRRHHHHHHHH!" A defeaning shout shook the foundation of the house like an earthquake. Magical runes beneath their feet lit up in response to control the damage.
"What the hell is happening down there!?" Akemi was finally worried as the sound of Gold's voice was still recognizable.
"Lord Gold is currently experiencing withdrawal symptoms." Lydia stated
"Shouldn't we get him one of those blunts he smokes then?"
*BOOM* an explosive force shook the ground again as the damage was once again controlled.
"Unfortunately due to unknown reasons, he is incapable of inebriating himself anymore. He has been locked down there for three days. At first it started out with only random controlled outbursts, however it has escelated since the start of the third day. Originally I believed that I would be enough to contain him, however Lord Gold seems to be growing more powerful due to unknown reasons." It was incredibly strange. It started out simple and easy.
However more and more power was expended to fuel the ward stones as time passed by. Once Gold had begun desiring to escape on the third day, it started to become much more difficult.
First she had called Jack to assist with powering the wards, and at first it worked. Until Gold kept getting gradually stronger in power to overwhelm the amount the ward stone was outputting. Then the same happened when they added Jade and subsequently Viser to help. It was as if Gold kept getting more power the more effort they put into sealing him down there.
It was unfortunate that the ward stones were unable to efficiently handle all of their power. Getting ward stones with enough quality to take on the power of ultimate class beings was incredibly difficult.
"Unfortunately Serafall is still currently busy with work and Koneko is in the underworld with Miss Rias. So we don't have anyone to distract him with carnal pleasure." Lydia frowned as another explosive force rocked the ground. "However with your sacred gear, you should be able to boost the ward stones enough times to withstand more of our power."
Akemi was silent at the explanation, her brown bangs covered her eyes as she didn't respond. Then she raised her boosted gear up [BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST!]
"Excellent, just transfer it to any one of the stones!" Lydia let out a sigh of relief.
However to her surprise and confusion, instead of transfering the power. Akemi started moving towards the door. "Akemi? What are you..."
"MY TIME HAS COME!" Akemi shouted out with stars in her eyes as the gauntlet continued to vocalize it's boosts.
Under Lydia and Asia's confused gaze, she ripped off her top and jumped through the basement entrance as it was only for keeping things in.
"ASIA, WATCH MY CLOTHES! I'M GOING IN!" was her last words before throwing the remnants of her clothing towards the blushing ex-nun.
HOURS LATER
"What happened?" The trio finally opened their eyes as the wards hadn't been assaulted that badly in the last few hours.
"Miss Akemi seems to be handling it quite well down there. I believe you can leave for now." Lydia informed, much to their confusion.
"Aueughhh~!" A sexual moan sounded out from the basement entrance as the ground shook with it.
"Gross, I don't wanna hear dad getting it on with someone." Jade scrunched up her face before leaving.
"Neigh." Jack nodded as he took Viser back to their rooms.
"Um...." Asia started with a completely red face as Lydia turned to her.
"You may also leave, good work Miss Asia." Lydia thanked her sincerely.
"It's not that but... may I also join in?"
Lydia blinked oddly as she looked at the former nun now turned Devil. "If you wish." She didn't see any reason to deny her.

Cracking open my eyes, I was greeted to the sight of the dank ceiling. Huh, I really should clean that ceiling sometimes. I was about to get up, but I was stopped by the feeling of something heavy on my arms.
"Nnngh" I heard a couple of feminine groans from both sides. Now that I'm more awake, I noticed the sound of breathing that isn't coming from me.
Did Koneko and Kuroka come back to help distract me from my withdrawal symptoms? Oh god, why can't I remember what happened!? I wonder if they'll be up for another round.
I turned to my left and froze. Wait... neither of them have blonde hair.
I turned to my right... Neither of them have brown hair either....
"Oh fuck, I'm a terrible teacher." I muttered out in horror as the situation dawned on me.
I was nude, sharing a bed with Akemi and Asia.
