Chapter 1: Prologue: Pre-destiny

This destiny was nothing like any god would expect. How one feeble human could shift all the dimensions and above.

I was not born when all of this chaotic madness started. On how the god of the sky and heaven, Zen, opened the human's curiosity and caused the moral dimensions defenseless on magic and sorcery. From what I heard, they made this defenseless woman the criminal and Zen the almighty. Trust me, he definitely is, but in this situation, no.

Mortals change gods' looks throughout history. Yes, this disappoint us, but it is not shocking after being born for over a millennia. On how I looked like an old lady to a beautiful young girl in over three centuries.

When I was born, I was raised by a beautiful goddess. Her hair was silky black and her eyes were dark as the night itself. Skin pale as snow and her hanfu dress scarlet as her lips. She was my great godmother, watching over our family for the longest time. Her kindness wasn't the most pleasant thing, but her mercy was.

Every night she dragged me to the realm of the dead, seeing billions of souls wandering to find their own path. The Realm of the Dead was just dark flat land and vibrant souls. She told me the red ones were the demons. The demons who were once innocent people until they became corrupted. On how there was no such thing as 'pure demons.' To hear her gentle voice say it with such spite made me scared to my very core. I've never wanted to talk about demons or spirits around her after that particular night. So, without her consent, I went to Li Wei, the God of Record Keeping and Consciousness, at the realm's palace. The palace was dark and mountainous, but the colorful souls that goes around the palace was incredibly breath-taking.

"Elderly, may I see your history?" I formally asked while he stayed silent. This was casual because of his curse. The curse to never write ahead on the future, thus he shall never talk about the future. My father planted this curse on him and I felt guilty about that. Then again he did rebelled against my father for being superior.

Li Wei probably knwe how I was feeling but stayed silent anyways. Slowly standing up, he shuffled his way toward the endless pile of seem to be textbooks in the darkness, and easily found the 1,000 paged book covered in gold. The gold was shiny enough to be seen even in the dark. The lanterns in the palace halls couldn't come close to its brightness. Li Wei held out six fingers, indicating that I have only six days to read it. I never knew why he gives time limits, but I honestly do not want to know.

The next few days was nothing but reading for me. My eyes glued onto the moving pictures that came with the narrative of the gods. On how mortals came to be and how it developed. But then-- I'd hit that chapter. The chapter where it explained about the first human being.

According to the legend, she was born with many qualities by the Gods. Mei whom blessed the female with undeniable beauty and charm, Chang Sheng for maturity and age, Ai gave her emotions and understanding, and Longwei gave her anger and spite. They called the female the "perfect project, " thus naming her Yuan.

The moving pictures in the book shows her walking through the plum blossoms. Her eyes were closed looking peaceful. As if she was humming or reminiscing about the good and bad things in life. Just like the wind, Yuan's dark hair flew gently with the blossoms. Her hanfu matched with the fully blossomed blossoms, which made her almost harmonious.

I've turned the page to see her extremely calm to serve all the gods, servants, and peasants. She obviously didn't have the physical capacity unlike them but still strived to help everyone out. Jian, God of war and tactics, grew fond of Yuan. Everyday, he come over to her home and have a small talk about anything. Yuan felt extremely uncomfortable hearing bloodshed and war every two seconds, yet she listened with pure respect. The elegant woman and rebellious male talked to each other for years until one day, they got married. No one knew Yuan's intentions.

For all they knew, she'd never shown a hint of true joy for it shows.

They had seven children and live their lives as a big family. A family clan known as the Lee clan watched over her and her family for decades, protecting her from harms way. They are powerful, magical humans, but the Lee family dies under a hundred years for every clan member.

Jian had concubines behind Yuan's back, but she wasn't idiotic or lummox. Yuan knew and yet she never discussed it with anyone. She knew it was normal for high-status. According to the book, he only came home three times a week. Thinking it was okay, she went to a lower-state town and helped everyone in need.

By the strike of the afternoon bliss, she'd met Changming. A less handsome, muscular, and intelligent man than her spouse. He was wearing a regular grey hanfu with a white dragon patterns at the end of his sleeves. His dark hair was all up on a high ponytail and eyes brown as the richest dirt.

They'd connected eyes.

And she fell in love with him.

They had an affair behind Jian's back for almost ten years. Ai knew about this and decided to do something about it. She refused to let them go so scheming and impure. Which resulted in a box.

A box that grants any wish but have a drastic impact. Yuan got this for her 100th birthday from the gods, thinking it would be a good present. When she opened it, she made a wish and a mistake.

"I wish to have freedom." Her voice happily echoed through every time God's ears. Feeling the warmth of her soul before being corrupted. All hell came out, causing her to loose control. Her jet black hair became grey, eyes a light yellow, and the tip of her hands became charcoal black. All the kindness and compassion is gone, leaving only a vengeful soul. The gods only looked bleak at her now pathetic self.

Eyes filled with spite, she said "remember this, you self-centered, conceited souls. One day, you will pay...you will."

Zen banished her to the mortal realm where she placed a box somewhere on Earth. The first human now became a demon spirit. A weepful one who spent all her lifetime fulfilling others needs, was now a cursing her descendants down the same path.
