Chapter 3: Nyx
*Boom*
Loud explosions shook the entire island as rocks flew in all directions, trees constantly being uprooted as the massive force ravage the center of the island, while all kinds of Magical Beasts trying to escape with their lives fleeing in all directions to the outermost part of the island.
*Boom*
Another explosion sounded as two silhouettes can be seen fighting each other ravaging the entire surrounding area while they're at it.
"Night Dragon's Roar!!!"
"Night Dragon's Roar!!!"
*Booooooom*
As the two attacks collided creating a large and deadly explosion, both Alex and Nyx finally retreated. Alex could not hide the grin on his face as he looked at the exhausted figure in front of him. Sensing Alex's gaze Nyx could not help but feel annoyed
"What are you looking at?"
"A dragon... more precisely a dragon that just lost... again.."
"You!!... Hmph"
Frustrated, Nyx could only snort while turning her head sideways, looking incredibly cute...?
"So what is it?"
"What... what?"
"the thing you've been trying to say since this morning?"
Hearing what Nyx just said, Alex hesitated for a while before saying
"I... I want to leave..."
"ha... figures.."
Even though she knew that this day would come starting from day 1 when he found her in her cave, still, Nyx could not help but feel sad.
'three years...huh...'
Looking at the sad Nyx, Alex said
"Why don't you come with me?"
"I-"
"I know what you wanted to say... 'I am a dragon... I might inconvenience you with my size... just the look of me will cause fear... I could not go out without fear of being slain or slaughter by people or by Acnologia'...." just hearing Acnologia's name made Nyx trembled... 'just how bloody and brutal the war was 300 years ago?' thought Alex as he looked straight into her eyes before continuing "Nyx... I found a way... a way to make you transform into a human..."
Hearing Alex's claim, Nyx could not help but tremble but this time from excitement, disbelief, more so from expectation. Nyx knew that the chance of this being real is small, but she is willing to grasp that small chance in order for her to return to civilization... to see the world again, and not be trap in this small cave of hers until she dies of old age or being found by Acnologia.
"As you've said in the past even though time had healed all your physical injuries, it could never regrow the missing piece of your soul devoured by Acnologia. As such I have theorized that... if I could somehow patch that missing piece on your soul making it harmonize with the rest as if it was yours, then teach you the newly made magic I made... then mayb- no.. it will definitely work... trust me Nyx... besides, don't you want to marry me? have kids together, then grow old-"
*Bang*
Alex has yet to finish what he wanted to say when Nyx smack him with her giant claws sending him flying through the mountain then splashing to the sea.
'So violent... the moment you transform into a human I will discipline you... as a man...'
Using Space Magic to teleport in front of Nyx while drying his clothes Alex did not bother scolding Nyx as if he was already used to this kind of thing, acting as if nothing happened he continued
"Anyway as I was saying, I will remove a piece of my soul then patch it into yours. That way I could use my soul within you as a bridge in order for my soul energy to flow in between us effectively melding my soul and your soul together. After that, I will teach you the newly created magic in order for you to transform into a human... just like you always want to be."
"But.... tearing your own soul.. isn't that a bit too much? isn't there really no other way? the pain is not something that an ordinary person could withstand you know..."
Nyx's response is not unfounded since she had experienced that soul-tearing pain when she had fought against Acnologia in the past, even Alex knew the soul-tearing pain he'll experience since he asked the system about it half a year ago when he decided to leave the island in hopes of seeing the world he had idolized on his past world.
"Come on Nyx... we have been together for 3 years, you should know that I would never take a risk without knowing the consequences... besides, do you really want to stay in that little cave of yours forever? alone?... without someone to talk to and just wait until time will kill you?... also, if you're worried about the backlash it'll cost me for removing a piece of my soul, then don't worry.. both my soul and body had been cleansed by Ethernano, except for the soul-tearing pain nothing will happen to me...
On the bright side... since a piece of my soul is within you, you could probably have an unlimited Mana/Ethernano; but your mana output would be limited since your soul and physical body might not withstand a large amount of Mana constantly being unleashed.
And since a piece of my soul is within you, the two of us will be connected. We could speak to each other using our thoughts, know each other's location, I could also detect if something dangerous happened to you or to those 100 meters around you... except for reading each other's thoughts (that's a lie... I could read her's since my soul is powerful enough to do so) we could effectively be called husband and wife..."
