Chapter 2: Three brothers
"How dare you steal from me! Get out of here!"
Bam!
An old man kicked me out a shop after he saw me took a piece of bread. But at least he didn't take the bread. He he he...
That hurt though.
"Ted! Paul! Let's go!"
I urged two boys, whose as filthy as me and we ran out of the old man's sight before he even changes his mind.
After running for a while, we finally arrived at a back alley and stopped for a breather.
"B-brother A-alex, what have you gotten?"
Ted, my fellow friend who's a bit on the shy side asked. I smiled and showed him the long bread I got.
"Woah! Amazing! Let's eat it now brother!"
Paul, the one who seems to be amazed by everything, added.
"Okay, okay, before that, we should split it evenly so we can have food for the night."
I smiled at them and cut half the bread. After putting away the half, I split the other half evenly into three portions.
"Okay, now that that' done, let's enjoy it"
"S-sure"
"Yeah!"
...
Burp!
Only a few moments later did we finish our meal and patted our stomach.
We looked at each other's dirty appearances and laughed. Although we don't have any place to call home, at least we have each other.
"Now that we've eaten, let's move on with our training!"
"Okay!"
We then stood up and removed the three sticks that we placed in our lone dirty white bag.
Although no one really taught us anything, everybody still knows the existence of the system. And knowing that, although we weren't taught, we can still watch the children who go to school train sometimes.
So after mimicking their training, although only with sticks, for five years already, this is what we got.

After we got this sword rookie skill, all three of our strengths went up so that's why we train even though we can barely eat. And we only train when after eating so we won't die because of starvation and having no energy.
"Okay! Let's start!"
After that we swung our sticks forward over and over again like we did for 5 years already.
...
"Stop!"
A few hours later, we stopped and sat down to catch our breath.
"Let's sleep so we can regain our energy to find food the next time again"
We huddled together in one spot and lie down. After one glance at the blue sky filled with clouds, we drifted into our dreams...
...
"Help!"
Huh? I rose awake as I heard a woman's voice, I looked at my two brothers and that they are groggily waking up.
I walked silently to the source of the voice that's behind the wall alley. There, I saw a woman crying as she was being threatened by a black clothed man with a knife.
"Give me all your money!"
Oh damn, there's a robbery! I hurriedly went back to my brothers and woke them up from their stupor.
I leaned to their ears and spoke quietly.
"Brothers, there's a woman being harmed by a man behind there, the man got a knife. What should we do?"
Both his brothers we're shocked for a moment but afterwards, they looked at each other and said with determination.
"We know what you're about to do brother, we'll still follow you though"
"Pa-paul's right, we'll follow you, brother"
I smiled wryly at their words. These guys surely know my personality well. I stood up and told them.
"Let's go then"
We picked up our sticks and stealthily went towards where the crime is happening.
We all saw the robber wearing a black face mask so we can't identify who it is.
We all looked at each other then nodded. Afterwards, we ran towards the robber while holding our sticks and before the robber can react to us, we struck his back.
"Ack!"
The robber froze for a moment after being pushed and got mad after he processed the whole situation.
"Why you damn kids!"
He then went to us as he threw away his knife.
"This should be where our trained skills will do its work brothers! I don't know why he threw his knife, but, let's beat him up!"
I said to my brothers as we charged at the robber.
I was in the front so I dashed and slashed at him. I grinned. He's so close, there's no way I can't miss.
Huh? But just as I was about to hit him, he suddenly dodged so fast that I hit mid air.
Bam!
"Kah!"
Without realizing it, he went to my side and suddenly hit my solar plexus. I dropped my stick and held my stomach as I knelt down.
It hurts... Why is he so strong?
With a blurry eyesight, I saw him beat my brothers senselessly, seeing this, I clenched my teeth and ignored the pain as I charged towards him.
"Leave them alone!"
Although I knew what the result would be, I still can't stand to see my brothers get hurt.
Without any resistance left, we we're being kicked and punched by the robber.
*Police sirens*
"Oh crap!"
After a few minutes of being beaten, we finally hear the sirens. Naturally, the robber took off as soon as he heard it.
Feeling that the beating stopped, I looked at my brothers first and saw that we all look the same, and that is being full of bruises.
We all smile sadly as we carry each other's hands on our shoulders and went towards one of the places where we call our "base".
Not too long after, we reached our destination.
But what I saw there finally triggered me. I saw a kid eating our dumpster food! Food that should have been for my brothers! I think the kid said a few words but I ignored it and only looked at the food held within his hand with red eyes.
Paul also said something but I couldn't hear it since my mind was mostly filled with anger. Anger that's pent up from the beating we got earlier and the life we're leading up until now.
Without thinking, we threw the kid to the ground and proceeded to beat him up.
