Chapter 4: 4. Evening skincare routine

In the previous post I have mentioned the products to be used in the morning, the evening skincare routine is not too different from it(if you're just following CMS then in the evening you can play around with serums/masks/spot treatments) as we'll be layering different products between steps.

It'll look something like this

In the evening you can incorporate serums and essences as they'll work through the night and provide you with refreshed face in the morning. Use serums and essences for your specific skin concerns and on the required areas.

Instead of using just a moisturizer if your skin feels too dry you could use by mixing it with facial oils or you can use a sheet mask before or after moisturizer or you could use a thick moisturizer for the evening.

Exfoliating is also an essential step but it shouldn't be done too frequently....you could do it once or twice a week. You can use either chemical or physical exfoliator if you don't have any bumps or acne on your face. But if you do have acne use only a chemical exfoliator as the beads from physical one can cause the bumps to be torn and makes a mark on your face. If you don't want to use any exfoliator you can just use a turkey towel with warm water( very very gently) and clean it across your face( This applies to only for people with no acne problems). If you do have acne please do not try this.

Notes to consider:

1. If when using a new product always do a patch test.

2. If your skin shows reaction to any product stop using it immediately and seek medical help.

3. Avoid using products containing fragrance/essential oils/problematic ingredients.

4. Don't apply too little or too much product.

5. Change your skin care routine according to the weather and what your skin requires at the moment.

6. When applying products don't forget your neck as it shows how you age.

7. Don't introduce new products all at once to your skin, build a routine( if adding new products atleast wait a month before you start adding another...see that the product you're adding to your routine produce a synergic effect and don't actually clash with each other).

8. Hydrate..... Hydrate...Hydrate.

9. Find healthy ways to manage stress as it can affect your skin.

10. Change your pillow cases regularly and try not to sleep on your face.

11. They don't say it's a beauty sleep for nothing.....get enough sleep.
