Chapter 1: Until We Meet part 1
Roars echo all around the island from the artificially constructed trees to the liquid reflecting the moon in this day and age was the moon always there or did man put that up as well, Stephanie questioned herself. These creatures that might haunt your dreams keep everyone in place, keep the children off the streets and the people away from crime. After all, they were here to protect us, because we did build them. The loud whispers of the monsters were common in this day and age. Well in the year 2070 almost every whisper had a materialized body. Ghosts, demons, ghouls are all from the past. Every sound you hear, everything you see moving, everything you feel has a scientific explanation.
Humans we were at the brink of extinction, because of the selfish mistakes of our fore fathers in the 18th century. The ozone layer had almost broken through, exposing us to the dangers of the suns UV light, so our oh so heroic scientists rebuilt it, well are rebuilding it. It's quite confusing you see, since every 10 years or so 200 people from almost every 1st and 2nd world island are sent out to rebuild it. No-one quite knows what it's made of it's a secret that only the scientists know of. But apparently, humanity doesn't learn once.
We had cleaned the oceans, repaired the land, learnt new ways to dispose of our filth, and lost loved ones, but eventually everyone fell back to the era they had evolved from it truly was a pity. After all, so many had given up, it was only to fall back to the one place we felt safe, why? Well isn't it obvious, demons feel safest in the dark and cower from the light. And we are those demons, we hiss and crawl away from a new way a new beginning, we want that suffering, that pain. Oh God, we just beg for it don't we. However, I'm afraid that I cannot continue watching us kill ourselves. Thus, I write a goodbye note as I journey to a true new beginning, a new planet. Venus here I come.
