Chapter 40: Chapter 40 - Second Chance
"Your Majesty, the estimated enemy forces amount to 80,000 troops," one of the soldiers reported to King Alex.
King Alex clenched his teeth upon hearing the news. He was shocked by the Demon army's numbers, which were twice as many as their own. Not only that, but most of the Demon soldiers were powerful monsters such as Trolls, Minotaurs, and many more. An ordinary Unity soldier couldn't kill one of those monsters alone. They needed at least 5 people to take down a single monster. It was a dire situation for the Unity army.
"Our situation is worst!" King Alex exclaimed.
"Allow us to assist!" a voice from behind approached.
"Huh?" King Alex turned around. All the Heroes were ready to enter the battlefield.
"What are you trying to do? This is not what we planned," King Alex said.
"Our plans have changed, Your Majesty. Besides, our previous plans only estimated no more than 60,000 Demon troops. Now there are more than 80,000. Our troops can't defeat them. Moreover, almost half of the enemy forces are high-level monsters. Let us help, let us deal with the additional 20,000," Ray persuasively said to King Alex.
"Your enemy is not them. Remember, you all have to face the Demon King, the most dangerous enemy of all. If you encounter the Demon King in a weakened state, do you think you can defeat him?" King Alex warned.
"Your Majesty, we need to go to the battlefield, or we won't be able to face the Demon King. It's better to face the Demon King in a weakened state than not face him at all!" Jilk spoke up.
"We've been given a second chance to correct our previous planning mistake, Your Majesty! This time we cannot make a mistake again," Sofia added.
King Alex began to struggle with the decision. This decision would determine their future.
"Father!" Princess Alia tried to encourage her father.
Then, King Alex glanced at the confident faces of the Heroes.
"Alright."
"Thank you, Your Majesty!" all the Heroes bowed in respect before leaving.
After the Heroes left, King Alex almost collapsed to the ground but was caught by Princess Alia.
"Is Father okay?"
"Alia, is my decision correct?"
"Don't worry, Father. I'm sure the Heroes can defeat the Demon King. Trust them!"

"Shara! Where is Shara?" King Nolan shouted, looking for his daughter.
Then a soldier approached him with information.
"Your Majesty, I saw Princess Shara going to the battlefield with your father."
"WHAT! SHARA ON THE BATTLEFIELD!" King Nolan was shocked to hear the news.
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
"QUICK, GO FIND SHARA! MAKE SURE SHE'S SAFE!"
"YES, YOUR MAJESTY!"
*What is Father thinking, bringing Shara to the battlefield?* King Nolan thought to himself.

On the battlefield...
"FAT!" Kiel shouted.
"Good! Ultra Parry!" Fat quickly parried the attacks of a dozen Minotaurs in front of them.
"Doom!" all the Minotaurs attempting to attack Fat were launched into the air.
At that moment, Kiel and Doug moved forward to kill all the Minotaurs.
"Twin Blade Combo!" Their combined effort resulted in a powerful skill. Both of them were skilled swordsmen, known as 'The Twin,' meaning they were formidable when together.
'Slaaaasshhh'
"Argghh!" The Minotaur could only scream in pain.
"Heal!" Nancy, positioned behind them, served as the healer.
Over the past year, the four of them had undergone significant changes and become much stronger. Their combined strength formed a formidable group, easily defeating any monsters in the Demon army.
At the same time, on another corner of the battlefield, Wells agilely shot down one monster after another with his arrows. Each monster fell with just one arrow. Meanwhile, Shara was equally formidable, having increased her strength significantly over the year. The two of them alone were enough to defeat more than a thousand monsters.
"Garghhh!" a large troll stood before Shara.
"SHARA!" Wells shouted.
Without hesitation, Shara ran toward the troll, dodging its axe swings. 'BOOM!' Shara leaped off the troll's foot, moved across its body, and then jumped onto its head.
"Heavy Shot!"
'Zhooosh' the arrow pierced the troll's skull.
"Wow, impressive!" Wells shook his head, watching his granddaughter in action.
"How amazing Princess Shara is!" many soldiers admired Shara.

On top of a hill...
"Ahhh!"
After nearly four hours, Raqnid began to regain consciousness. His head and body ached from the moon arrow's impact. Fortunately, his body was strong enough to withstand the impact, avoiding fatal injuries.
"Raqnid, are you okay?" someone was beside Raqnid.
"Huh?... Anne!"
After Raqnid fainted, Anne, who was next to him, had been watching over him.
"How... did you manage to be here? Weren't you with Razor?" Raqnid, still finding it hard to speak.
"Razor told me to come here and check on you... Are you okay?"
"Uhmm... I'm... I'm okay!"
"You're not okay! Here, drink this!"
Anne handed a 'Super Potion' to Raqnid to heal his injuries.
'Gulp' Raqnid drank it.
"Ahhh... What is this? The taste is so bad!"
"Don't make too much noise, Drink!"
Anne insisted, making Raqnid finish the medicine.
"Uweerghh!"
In the blink of an eye, all the pain Raqnid felt disappeared.
"Wow! No more pain. What was this medicine you gave me?"
"Super Potion."
"WHAT! SUPER POTION... Are you crazy, giving me a super potion for this kind of pain! Do you know how expensive this medicine is?"
"I know, but you should become useful after this because you've taken expensive medicine."
"Hurmmm!"
Raqnid quickly got up from his sitting position.
"Where are you going?"
"Didn't you tell me to become useful?"
"Don't say you're going straight to the battlefield!"
"Heh (smirking)"
'Shoooshhh' Raqnid swiftly moved toward the battlefield.
"He just recovered!... Haha, Razor was right, he is indeed amazing." Anne was stunned and amazed.
