Chapter 17: Raynare's true self

Inside the abandoned church a golden haired girl was seen praying on one of the many benches inside, "Amen" said the girl as she slowly stood up. She looked around and saw another person watching her with her arms crossed, "Asia are you done?" The girl now identified as Asia nodded and neared the black haired girl, "Raynare-sama I am finished," She said, Raynare sighed and whispered to her, "You know you don't need to call me that, remember even though I'm a fallen angel doesn't mean I'm superior than you"
She said to Asia who only smiled at her, "I know Raynare-sama but you took care of me since I arrived here so I can't just address you casually" Asia said, Raynare smiled a bit and pat her head, "I know that but can you really be sure that you will be fine I mean you are also aware that I killed innocent people right?" Raynare asked genuinely worried for her
"But you feel guilty about it right? You even made graves for every person you killed underground" Asia said proving her point that she is a nice person. Raynare looked away hiding her blush from Asia, "A-anyways I have to go report this to Azazel-sama" She speed walked to the door before she went out Asia said, "Promise me you will stay safe"
Raynare hearing this smiled a bit before saying, "I promise" Spreading her raven black wings and flew off towards a secluded area to contact Azazel. She found a forest not too far away from the church and decided to make the call here. Grabbing what seems to be an orb out of her sack she contacted her boss. Before it could connect a spear of light broke it to pieces.
Alarmed her head turned to find two of the fallen angels became acquainted with when she was young, "Mittelt, Kalawarner why are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to guard Azazel-sama back at base?" Suspicion was what she felt right now her comrades came here without her knowing, "Why else would we be here? It's to kill you ofcourse!" Mittelt said, her face twisted insanity visible to Raynare to see. Though angered she had to ask one more time just to prove her suspicions, "I didn't receive any news of other fallens being sent here in Kouh" Raynare said as her guard was up
"Ahahaha! Of course you wouldn't recieve news we already switched sides!" Kalawarner said, her laugh devoid of any emotion. Raynare grit her teeth as she glared at her former comrades with hate. Mittelt noticed her glare and smirked, "That's right why would we stay with that pathetic leader of yours when we can join the Khaos Brigade and cause havoc in the world"
Hearing Mittelt, Raynare looked at them in shock she didn't think that they were part of Khaos Brigade. Her glare worsened, Fists clenched enough that it drew blood on her palms, "I'LL KILL YOU" She screamed, She summoned 4 spears of light towards the two but they evaded the attack quickly. Kalawarner rushed towards Raynare with a sword made out of her magic in hand. She swung her sword at Raynare making shallow cuts on her arms. While Raynare was distracted with Kalawarner, Mittelt snuck up behind her and shot a spear at Raynare making it peirce her stomach. Losing her balance she fell on the ground her vision going blurry
"AHAHAHAHAHA!!! PATHETIC YOU WHAT A WEAKLING YOU ARE!!! YOU CAN'T EVEN FIGHT US FOR 5 MINUTES!!!" Mittelt bursted into a laughing fit while Kalwarner stared at Raynare as if she was trash. The bleeding Raynare looked at the two though not clearly she uttered with great difficulty, "Y-you w-won't get a-way wi-with this..."
Scoffing Kalwarner kicked Raynare into a tree making her release a breath. Looking at the pitiful display they decided that they had enough, "Come on Mittelt we have to go!" She then flew off with Mittelt closely behind, 'Ahh this is it huh? I'm going to die now... Asia I'm so sorry it seems I can't keep my promise' She thought her vision getting blurrier but before she could succumb to the darkness of death she saw 2 pairs of feet on her view.
A few minutes later Izumi who had stayed back to complete her daily quota of jobs and Emiyo who tagged along were walking around the church obliviously, "You know when I was changing my clothes in the locker room yesterday I saw the perverted duo peeping on me I punched them in the face when our eyes met" Said Izumi, Emiyo listened with sparkling eyes. Izumi was about to finish her story when they saw Kalawarner and Mittelt fly by them.
Acting quick they hid in the bushes avoiding the sights of the fallen angels. Releasing the breath they unknowingly held they got out of the bushes, 'Why were fallens coming out of the forest?' This was what they both questioned, needing answers they entered the forest only to see a dieing Raynare leaning on a tree.
Emiyo gasped as she ran towards Raynare and started healing her. Izumi hesistated to come near her as she remembers that the woman infront of her is her killer, "Izumi-senpai help me carry her" Snapping out of it she reluctantly carried the now healed Raynare towards the orc. She knew that she will get a scolding when she arrives.
On their way there Emiyo asked, "Izumi-senpai why did you hesitant to help her?" Questioned Izumi replied, "It's because she is the same person who killed me the first time" Realizing that she might have asked a sensitive topic she bowed her head and asked for forgiveness towards Izumi, "It's fine you only asked no harm done although I do dislike her for killing me I am also thankful" Emiyo looked confusely on Izumi, "How so?" Izumi stopped and looked at Emiyo grinning from ear to ear, "Because if I wasn't killed I wouldn't have met any of you"
Emiyo felt warm hearing Izumi's reason and so she decided to treasure this friendship until the end, "Now let's get going we wasted much of our time here and I would like to quickly finish the scolding I will receive later" Izumi walked faster with Emiyo who was smiling brightly in tow.
