Skylar looked around at her surroundings, when suddenly a large black husky appeared and jumped onto her, licking her face. As she tried to stop the dog, she could hear someone laughing.
"That's something you don't see everyday" Karma laughed as he pulled the dog off of her.
She quickly sat up again and looked at the dog as it happily wagging its tale.
"I almost forgot, this is Bear hes our guard dog, though I've never seen him do that before he usually avoids or barks at new people not do that."
Skylar couldn't help but smile as she patted the dogs head. Bear nuzzled her hand asking for more attention as he climbed up onto the sofa. She giggled softly and Karma smiled at her before directing his attention back at his gang.
"Haru put the TV on let's see if we're the news again"
The TV burst to life and a news report was already on the TV.
"The demons have struck again. Reports say that the gang not only took £200,000 but also a young university student who has yet to be identified by police. Witnesses say the girl was badly wounded by a falling chandelier damaging her left calf and shin."
Just then, the front door to the mansion burst open and a boy stormed into the room.
"WERE IS SHE??!!" He shouted at Karma as he grabbed the collar of his shirt.
"Relax the girl is right there and you might be scaring her with all that shouting so mind toning it down."
The boy turned to face Skylar and saw how she had curled herself into a tight ball around Bear as she trembled slightly. The boy then released Karma and turned to face her directly.
"I'm sorry for raising my voice, it's just I was listening to the radio while coming out here and was angry at him for taking you."
"I-it's okay, umm who are you?"
"Oh were are my manners my name is Kai. I'm their eyes inside the police department, I basically make sure they don't get caught."
Skylar nodded in understanding "Oh it's nice to meet you my name is Skylar"
Kai shook her hand and smiled before he looked down at her wounded leg, blood was starting to show on her bandages.
He wacked Karma on the head with an irritated look on his face.
"idiot you didn't even bother to change her bandages when you got back?!"
"Ouch! jeez we just arrived 5 minutes ago!"
"That's no excuse"
Skylar couldn't help but giggle slightly at the exchange between the two of them. They both stopped arguing and looked at her as she continued to giggle.
"S-so cute..." They whispered in unison as they stared at her.
After awhile, Karma changed the bandages on her leg and showed her to her room.
"you'll be sleeping with me until we clear out a room for you."
She nodded in understanding as hopped into the room, however as she moved in front of him Karma quickly scooped her up into his arms and carried her to the bed. He then walked over to his wardrobe and picked out a large shirt and baggy trousers, handing it over to her.
"wear these until we can get you some clothes, is that alright?"
"Y-yeah it's fine..."
"Right I'll leave you to change and I'll have someone get you in abit with some crutches or a wheelchair ok."
She puffed out her cheeks slightly then nodded, when Karma left, Skylar looked around the large room before changing into the shirt and trousers. Once she finished getting dressed, she laid down on the bed and with exhaustion pressing down on her, she soon fell into a deep sleep.
