Chapter 7: Son of Slaughter
"It would seem the time has come, my son."
"Who..."
Zero sat confused before what looked like a man covered in his mid 40's, however he was covered in jet black scales with blood red stripes crisscrossing like large red X's all over his body, but what confused Zero was not the mans appearance but the conflict of sensations, he smelt blood and death, but he felt safe and loved, the man opened his eyes and smiled helplessly at Zero.
"Zero, not a bad name, you have awakened your bloodline and as such this... little fragment of my soul... is here to guide you on what comes next... consider it as a message to help you, you can't protect anyone yet... however there is a way to protect the people you love until you are ready, you must leave the village my son, leave and flea into the woods, head towards the capital city of the empire, in the forest nearby it you will find something I have left for you, something only you can use, I know you have questions and I know you want answers but all I can say is this, You are MY son, The Son of Slaughter, you are destined for great things, you will bring Disaster to evil and hope to the Just, You must go... now... farewell my son... and Wake up!"

4 Years Later
Sitting on a pile of corpses a short young boy, whose Black hair that went red at the tips was flowing majestically in the breeze, watched as a silver haired woman, wearing an eye patch with a prosthetic right arm, approached from behind a patch of trees accompanied by a young girl who appeared around his age with long black hair and blood red eyes similar to his.
Zero sat silently as they approached, a pair of one handed long swords strapped to his back and a gun he felt drawn to resting in his lap (A/N: obviously his Desert eagle from his past life), his eyes trained on the Katana the girl had as his instincts screamed danger from its mere presence, however, he understood that should he move, not only that blade, but the weapons of the unseen individuals around him would quickly find their way to his neck.
When he was sure they were in his effective reactionary range he spoke
"Assassins of the revolutionary army, why have you come seeking me out, and with imperial dog's doing the sniffing no less"
Hearing his words Three more people came out from behind tree's, a tall Blond haired well endowed woman who looked both playful and fierce from the get go, a large man in a suit of silvery armor wielding a large red arrow shaped Spear and a purple haired woman wearing glasses and wielding a large pair of scissors, each of these figures were in one of the cardinal positions around him, after a glance at the assassins he looked back to the man and asked
"Hundred Man Slayer, Bulat, how's the arm? still got any bullets in it"
"All good now little Dragon, but remind me not to fight you, okay"
"Ex General Najenda and the Demon blade Akame, I ask again, why have you come"
Looking to the silver haired woman, he got his answer
"We would like to offer you a position in our organization, if you join your task would be to aid in the assassination of various imperial figure's from politicians to military officer's alongside the other members"
"I See, so your offering the chance to strike where it hurts... I have Three conditions at least two of which must be agreed to before I accept this invitation"
They all relaxed slightly when they heard him with the only exceptions being Akame and Bulat, both of which encountered Zero before and new his unpredictability first hand
"What are your conditions?"
Smiling slightly at Najendas reply Zero stood and holstered his Deagle before jumping down in front of her and Akame
"My conditions are simple, first off, if we encounter my knuckle headed twin brother, he is not to be fatally or seriously injured, Second, Prime minister Honest, I at least want to see him die with my own two eyes, and finally, I wish to battle the Demoness who not only tried to hunt me down but also ordered the men, who killed my mother, to track me down in the first place, besides, I can tell she was the one who took your arm and your eye"
Najenda grimaced and remained silent for a few tense minutes before looking over to the blond who shook her head, looking back to Zero she knelt down and put her good arm out for a handshake saying
"I don't know about your second and third conditions as that will be a matter of circumstance, as for your brother that one is easy, all we need is a description of his character and appearance, other than that I'd say we have a deal"
Zero shook her hand before stepping in closer and pulling out a knife only to feel a slash against his side causing him to smile at the pair of red orbs watching his movements as he flipped the handle towards Najenda and ran his thumb down the blade
"Amusing how you still think slashing me there will do anything Akame, others might not notice it but I know that blade is Murasame, Najenda drink a drop of my blood and I'll do the same with yours, this way our little deal will be official to the point where if I do turn on you it'll only be if my brother is seriously harmed and vice versa for the members of your group" 'I need to know if I can trust you after all'
Everyone just stared at Zero in shock as minutes passed by and he was still alive while Najenda did as Zero asked sealing their agreement, after retrieving the knife Zero took a step back and bowed before officially introduced himself.
"My Name is Zero, please take care of me from hear on out"
"how did you survive Murasame"
Looking at Akame he lifted his shirt, answering her question by showing her the scales that covered his torso and the back of his neck as he simply stated
"I am the Son of Slaughter"
