Chapter 3: Second Class Human

All the advancements of the world seemed to pale in comparison to the brief moment he had witnessed. It was hard to imagine that a world would be perfect, no matter how far technology had come, but to be born in a world that was run by women, when he had been gifted as a man seemed like a cruel change in fate. In his past life, he had always wondered what it would have been like to be a man and to live as a man. To be strong and powerful, and the breadwinner of the family. Maybe that was some silly notion he had had. Being a man was not so easy in the world past as well. There was always inequality between males and females, and while that seemed to be the case now, he still couldn't stand for the idea that one scale had to be forever tipped for there to be peace.

His newfound awareness and the fact that his nanny was finally beginning to 'present' him to society had allowed him to learn more about the world. Men were seen as homemakers. Their role was clearly defined as needing to be handsome, and skillful with taking care of children for any busy woman to take an interest in them. Women were given the jobs as leaders, founders, and innovators where men were few and far in between from that 'higher' world. For some time, he truly did not understand why there was such a drastic change from how the world had been before. It wasn't like children could comb through history books, and any information he did receive was more geared towards his age than his burning questions.

He hadn't seen his betrothed for a while either, and between learning how to walk again, and understanding the world around him, he was too busy for a pouting companion. Instead, as he was sitting in the garden area, which was much more in-depth than the small part he had seen with his picnic with the prince, he could relax in the hidden world. Though that was short-lived as new pairs of footsteps came closer, and this time, it was very strong and capable-looking female guards again. He might have choked on the very cake he had been shoving into his mouth if the guards hadn't spoken first. "The crowned consort wishes to see the Princess," they announced as his nanny smiled a little tensely. "Of course, I will just need to prepare her Majesty-"

"Now," they said firmly, leaving no room to argue as Prim licked her lips nervously and nodded. She carefully cleaned Allie off with wet wipes and made sure that he was presentable before getting up now. "Ready.." she hummed as the guards paid no mind to her now, moving forward, and into the sleek hallways once more, but just as Allie thought that he might be getting a basic layout of the place in his mind, they made a few turns that made his jaw drop. The futuristic building gave away to a large area that held a ceiling too high to touch, and the artwork over it seemed to have been something painstakingly made by hand. The rest of the room below had the same feeling of clean, futuristic and nothing out of place as they walked by what was a large throne room.

The chair, that was for the king, was much smaller than the queen's chair, with the elegant display of golden swords decorating it. Precious jewels and rubies that were no doubt royal property, and if it was him, he would probably have someone count each jewel overnight to make sure none were missing. They went beyond that now and entered hallways that were less decorated than the ones he was used to. There were some paintings around, and various looking priceless items, but it didn't have any of that technology locked away behind glass cases that had piqued his interest before. If anything, one could almost say that it wasn't as lavish as the area he was staying in, and he was a baby of all things.

He hoped this wasn't like a reversed harem or something, but the moment he was guided through another set of largely adorned doors, he could smell something fruity in the air. The entire atmosphere here was different from the rest of the building. The floors were padded, yet firm enough to walk on. He could see a couple of shirtless men, laying around with jewelry around their necks, and their tone bodies nearly all the way nude with some of the suggestive outfits they wore. Was it possible for babies to get a nosebleed? Allie could feel one coming on as they entered yet another door- what was with all the doors, didn't they invent teleporting already?- and into a room that seemed more personal. There he could see a few beautiful women, and men around one sole man, who was freely smoking out that fruity air he had first encountered the others smoking.

His strikingly beautiful blue eyes, his pale blond hair, and toned body in full view as there was only a bit of bedsheet to keep anything to the imagination. He smiled with perfectly white teeth that soon turned into a smirk. "So this is the future queen. What a shame.. I thought she might be mine.." he hummed as he looked at pink hues of Allie's hair and eyes. "I can't remember the last time her majesty had a pink-haired consort... she banished all of them once she became pregnant." he chuckled as there was some giggling around the room. They all seemed very amused by something, and he felt Prim hold him tighter. Her head up a little more, fearless. He was the crowned consort, but she was the only one the queen had decreed could take care of Allie.

"Crowned Consort, no one is allowed to question the father of a child. Especially not if the mother did not want it known." She said now firmly as she said: "The King would find it incredibly rude if you were to-"

"The king? Please, what could that man do to me?" He laughed out now harshly, the mere look on his face mocking her. "Everyone knows her majesty never visited his bed. Who knows how many bodies have laid in it other than the Queen's?" He said snidely as Prim looked uncomfortable.

"Just face it, that Princess is worth nothing until it's proven that she carries her mother's royal magic. Otherwise, that man finding a new wife will decide the future of this world. She could become a nice high official or another royal airhead with nothing to do-"

"You watch your words!" Prim snapped at the man, making the room tense again as Allie began to fuss. Maybe it was just better they left, but Prim looked like she might just kill someone if he continued.

There was a moment of shock and silence before the Crowned Consort let out a laugh of amusement. "You must be tired of living, huh?" he said, face darkening as Prim narrowed her eyes back at him. Even if he had been her Majesty's frequent bed partner, there was nothing he could do to Allie. Herself, however-

The sound of the slap filled the room as the women in his bed looked horrified at a woman being struck as the men in there only smirked. Prim didn't flinch though as she looked at him coldly. "I think the Queen would not have been pleased with you, especially considering where she took you from, and how well you were loved," she said in the dead silence as that stung more than any slap could have. There was rage in his eyes as he said, "There must be some reason why you haven't had the Princess tested for magical abilities, care to explain?" he said now, changing the subject as he looked irked beyond belief.

"That's not information that you need, Crowned Consort," she said indifferently as he looked down at her darkly. If this had been any other era, he could have easily sent her flying through a wall, but Crowned consort or not, he couldn't harm too badly the future queen's only personal caretaker.

"You must think yourself so important." he tsked before narrowing his eyes. "I may not be able to see any results of past tests, but I can organize my own."

Prim's eyes went wide before she narrowed them again, resisting the urge to lay a few choice words onto the man. " You wouldn't dare-" she said lowly as he smirked at her now coldly.

A testing device, with a few physicians, came through the door they had entered in. "So this was your plan," Prim said in disdain as she held Allie closer. Truthfully, he had no idea if Allie even possessed magic, but any wandering hands between the legs would have a scandal quicker than any words could leave her mouth. She might just be killed for hiding the truth. Her mind raced through the possibilities of trying to run away but the guards at the door meant they had planned this all carefully. She wouldn't even be surprised if the King wasn't even in the building at all for how well they had schemed.

"Well?" The consort demanded now, looking at her with a face that seemed to be singing his own victories already. The table waiting for a babe to be placed within it, and the electrodes to be able to gauge Allie's magical capacity. If Allie had no magic, it would settle deeper unrest within the royal family, the palace- no the entire world. If the Queen was watching from above, Prim closed her eyes and prayed for her to bless her son. Her trembling hands moving over to gently ease an unhappy Allie down to the table as he honestly felt that he was about to be experimented on, or worse-

"It's ready, " the grey-haired old man told the consort who chuckled at the sight.

"...Turn it on."
