Chapter 5: Graduation
A year passed by quietly. Lei and Naruto hung out like usual throughout and Lei managed to save Naruto from a few incidents that was probably as the result of the 'Mist of Misfortune'. Often it would be dangerous but most the time it would be trivial things like falling over some books.
"I'm sorry Naruto..." Lei muttered ruefully. Yet he couldn't help but laugh childishly as the misfortune often lead to hilarious situations. One being the destined kiss between Naruto and Sasuke.
As for the graduation this year, it was nothing unusual. All the relevant characters passed. Naruto also managed to learn the Shadow Clone Jutsu so there wasn't much difference with the show.
For Lei, due to his extraordinary performance, he was allowed to graduate from the academy early. But before the day he graduated, the 3rd Hokage himself requested Lei to his office.
At that time, the pressure Hiruzen released on him caused him to stop breathing for a second. He asked a few questions that seemed like a round-about way of asking if he was loyal to Konoha before going back to an unassuming elderly. Lei wasn't shocked by the harsh behavior. The old man has been through a bit with people like Itachi and most especially Orochimaru, so a bit of caution after that was to be expected, even if it seemed over the top for a child.
Lei thought back to the encounter
"Say Lei-kun, I heard you and Naruto have been getting along. How is Naruto doing these days?" The old man asked with a warm smile but Lei wasn't fooled. That sharp glint in his eye seemed anything but warm.
Hiruzen was definitely dangerous. But Lei wouldn't show he that he was a little afraid, that could be taken as a sign that he was guilty of something.
But it wasn't like he had anything to hide in regards to his relationship with Naruto so Lei smiled playfully and recounted the days he's been spending with Naruto.
The most troublesome things were the abilities he had. Over the couple of days since Lei had met with Naruto, he was aware that he'd catch the attention of Hiruzen and the Anbu's that were under him. So with the points he had earned from slaughtering zombies, Lei brought a small skill called 'Awareness'. The skill was only worth 1000 shop points and offered exactly what he had needed. The skill description was:
[Awareness: A simple skill that lets the user feel if he is being watched discreetly]
Sadly that was all it did, it didn't detect where someone was watching from or how powerful the person was, only the distance from the user. It was still worth it for a thousand points though. Personally, he liked to jokingly call it Pedo alert since he was a child. He always liked to mutter 'There's a pedophile nearby...' with disgust when an Anbu got too close and laugh to himself when they back off or disappear afterwards.
Thanks to the skill, Lei was sure Hiruzen didn't know much about his more sensitive abilities despite his spying orb. Well, aside from him having an unnatural sense of awareness.
Anyway, the most important talk with the Hokage was his decision to become an Anbu. Hiruzen was taken by surprised at that and had to think about it. Lei was capable that much was true, but Hiruzen didn't know him enough to determine if his personality was fit for the job.
After some thinking he eventually decided to first enlist Lei in for a few months and watch if he was suitable for the roll.
For now, Lei would start with D-rank like the other genins. Of course he would go in solo as other Anbu's had more important things to do.
Unlike many others, Lei wouldn't have a teacher but he personally thought he didn't need it. At this point he could take on a Jounin with equal grounds without relying on any of his trump cards. Not to mention that due to how his stats worked, his health and chakra was way higher than any Jounin. His chakra alone surpassed that of a Hokage.
Now that he thought about it, Lei hasn't checked his status for a while...
"Status" Lei puffed his chest at the changes to his stats after one year

- [Weapon Mastery: +500 affinity to all weapons. Basic handling of any weapon in user's hand is integrated into mind and body.]

- [Pick-pocketing: Proficiency in stealing another's possession with getting caught. Lvl 5/ Lvl 10]
- [Chakra Control: Efficiency in manipulating chakra. Lvl 10/ Lvl 10]
- [Chakra Enhancement: Gathers chakra into the body to increase ATK, AGI and END. Lvl 10/ Lvl 10]
- [ID Create: Allows the user to create a replicate dimension out of 10 floors. Time is 1:1. Lvl 5/ Lvl 10]
- [Fuinjutsu: The user is able to seal objects, living beings, chakra and other things within an object. Lvl 5/ Lvl 10]
- [Weapon Handling: The user is able to handle all sorts of weapons proficiently]
- [Lightning release: The ability to manipulate lightning with chakra. Lvl 4/ Lvl 10]
- [Awareness: A simple skill that lets the user feel if he is being watched discreetly]

Lei increased over 100 points in total across his attributes. That meant that his stats were 8x than that of an average adult, and this was without the aid of chakra.
Despite how much points Lei accumulated, he hasn't brought any other ability so that tab stayed the same.
For the last tab, Lei gained three additional skills.
Fuinjutsu was at the level where Lei could create any basic seals that ninjas often used like the storage seal. He actually gained calligraphy before this but it fused with Fuinjutsu. The same could be said with Weapon Handling as it was first separated by sword, kunai and other weapons before combining to make Weapon Handling.
For Lightning Release, Lei had actually brought a few scrolls on it after finding that it was the only element he was compatible with. Of course, there weren't any powerful jutsu's as that would require a ninja rank but he was able to learn how lightning release worked. It wasn't hard to make a few jutsus with the help of modern knowledge.
Lei smiled at his progress, It was finally time to apply it to actual missions
