Dr. Lenning looked at me. I went for the button, but the power shut off. "FUCK," I yelled pointing the gun at Lenning. "Don't you fucking move. I WILL blow your brains out. Stay. There." I ordered him. I wasn't sure how much of us there were left but it didn't matter. Evac would be here at 0200. Which meant around 5 hours of waiting. Or well, surviving. I heard the door behind me open. Lenning looked behind me with open eyes, he tried to open his mouth but a hole had appeared in his head. His body dropped to the ground, green blood oozing from the gaping hole, skin rotting away to reveal dark gray skin. I turned around. A gun was already pointed to my head and I knew if I said anything wrong. I probably wouldn't have much of one left. "Put your hands where I can see them, Collins." I had recognized the voice. It was one of the older scientists, Dr. Ward if I remember correctly. "Okay, Don't get too trigger happy," I said as I dropped the rifle. "I'm not one of those freaks. So no need to go and blast my head off." I heard the sound of something falling on the cold metal floor of the ship followed by a click. He had been replacing the magazine of his weapon. The gun clicked as the mag was fully locked into the weapon. A small whirring sound filled the brig, it was the gun powering up. "Shit! Ward. Don't do it, y-you can test me. Lenning had a sample tester in his back pocket, I'll, I'll grab it and pass it to you so, so you can test me. Just don't fucking shoot me o-okay?" There was a silent pause. It was soon disrupted by what used to be Lenning's body convulsing on the ground. Wings sprouted out of the creatures, it's legs fused together and curled, a small spike appeared out of the tip. "Fuck. Well, I guess you aren't one of them. However they've mutated again. So currently in deep shit." Ward said slamming the rifle butt on the ground.
