Chapter 4: Are You Pregnant?

Mollie shuddered. She was so scared. Her body froze and she could feel all the hairs on her body stand on end. How could this be? They used a condom, right? Unless it happened to split... Oh no, what will her parents say? How was she supposed to tell them? What about Kyle? How will he react? Will he be there for her by all means? Is he willing to be a father at this young age? Or should she just not tell him? With all these thoughts flashing through her mind, she gets insanely worried and has no idea what to do.

She wasn't sure whether she wasn't ready to be a parent or if she was just too worried about how her child would be brought up if Kyle wasn't going to be there to help. Hopefully he would be. But first she would need to talk to him about it.

Interrupting Mollie from her thoughts, the same doctor said, 'excuse me miss, but will you need someone to pick you up from the hospital? '

Kyle! This was how she was going to tell him. Without thinking, she nodded to the doctor, then took her phone out and dialled Kyle's number.

'Ring ring, Ring ring!' Kyle looks at his phone, smiles thinking that Mollie should be out of the hospital by now and is probably calling him to tell him what is wrong with her.

Yes, he was right. She was going to tell him what is wrong with her, though similarly to Mollie, he didn't expect that what was wrong with her wasn't an illness but just something he had given to her. Now he had to take responsibility.

'Hello, how was your check-up? Did you find out what is wrong with you?' Kyle asked.

'I've found out what is wrong with me, but I need you to pick me up from the hospital.' she said, trying to keep her calm, 'I'll tell you when you get here... but come quickly.'

'Are you alright?' Kyle was starting to get anxious because she would only tell him when he got there.

'I'm better now, just come quickly!' Mollie started to get Impatient.

'Alright.' Kyle replied.

'Get to the hospital, I'm hanging up now.' with that, she hung up the phone, then took a deep breath. The last thing she needed right now was for Kyle to get worried because she was worried enough herself. She needed him to be stable so that he could be there for her.

Ten minutes later, he arrived outside of the hospital. Got out of his car, and walked into the hospital doors. He then walked up to the receptionist and asked, 'excuse me, I'm looking for my girlfriend, Mollie Harrison. I'm here to pick her up.'

'Ah, yes... One minute. Let me take a look,' she smiled at him, then turned to her computer to check. Moments later, she replied saying, 'Mollie Harrison is on the 5th floor, the first hallway to the left of the elevator, room 27.'

'Thank you, miss,' he smiled back at her, then walked off in the direction she had just explained.

When he got to the room, he knocked then waited for a response. The door knob turned and the door opened slowly. Once he saw the face of the person behind the door, his face expressions became gentle.

'Oh, Kyle, its you,' Mollie smiled.

'Yes, are you ready to go?' he asked.

'Mmhm...' she nodded.

Kyle then took her arm and they walked all the way out of the hospital side by side. When they got to the car, Kyle opened the passenger door open for Mollie, and Mollie got in the car. Kyle did afterwards.

Now that they were in the car, Kyle was ready to start asking about how she was feeling, 'So, how did it go? What did they say was wrong?'

Mollie looked up at him and smiled, 'promise me that you will not leave me?'

Kyle was startled but didn't question her, 'I will never leave you, even if you were dumb. As long as I love you, I will never leave your side.'

Mollie felt more relaxed and confident now that she had heard his words. She cleared her throat and said, 'alright, don't panic...' she smiled again, 'I'm pregnant.'

Kyle opened his eyes wide, at first he thought that he was hearing things until he heard Mollie speak again, 'I'm actually pregnant, and that would mean that you are the father...'

'I... I mean, I didn't expect anything like this at all,' he narrowed his eyes, 'not that I don't want a child with you, I just, don't think your parents will allow it.'

'They will have to,' she said as she furrowed her brows, 'as I am definitely not aborting this child. They have no choice!'

Kyle was please that she didn't want to get rid of their child as he would have been upset and most probably heartbroken if she had said otherwise.

'So, you're not going to leave me with all the responsibility of this child?' Mollie sounded rather suprised but happy.

Kyle frowned, 'of course not! How could you think that I would leave you all alone to bring up a child of ours. I would be so ashamed of myself if I ever did such a thing.'

'That's good then, thank you,' Mollie held up his hand and squeezed it.

'No need for thanks,' he then leaned down and gently kissed her nose then booped it cutely but softly.

°°°

Kyle drove Mollie out to the shop to get some healthy food and non-caffeinated drinks for Mollie. They sat down in a cafe and discussed what their plan for their baby would be.

She would have to take care of her body well and eat and drink healthily, also she would have to take non-harmful tablets to stop her from throwing up as much so that she could still go to school. She would not do any highly physical activities that could make her body fatigued quickly. She would have to drink atleast 3L of water everyday to keep herself hydrated and prevent from lousiness and fatigue too. Atleast 10 hours of sleep every night to not stress about everything as the last thing a pregnant mother needs is stress, especially at a young age of 17.

It was very fortunate that they only had 3 months left of school until they could go to college or university but now Mollie wouldn't be going and would stay at home. Kyle would go to college and study a subject for a job that he could get well paid from so that he can do all he can to look after their child.

This was their plan that they had made but, they seemed to have forgotten something. They haven't even told Mollie's parents about any of it so how could they carry any of it out without informing them. Who knows what her parents might do that could ruin their plans.

Mollie seemed to have remembered this as she alerted, 'Oh! We have to tell my parents first before we can carry any of this out.'

'This is the tricky part, your parents wouldn't just let me, a total stranger to them, look after your child. They would most likely get angry at me for taking your innocence before marriage. But this way, as I'm already the father, your parents will hopefully give in and let me look after our child and maybe even let me marry into your family.' Kyle explained happily but doubtfully, 'if only...'

'It does make sense, maybe and hopefully, that will happen eventually. Even so, I will never give up on you.' she expressed.

'As you should know it's the same from I to you,' he grinned.

'Exactly, we are unstoppable! So we will tell my parents tomorrow after I sincerely apologise and then introduce you to them.' Mollie said willfully.

°°°

The next morning, Mollie wakes up and calls Kyle to meet outside her door in an hour. Luckily her sister is at a sleepover so that will prevent her from getting involved.

Mollie goes to have a shower. When she finished her shower, she puts a silk, light blue adorable dress on and does her natural-like makeup.

Kyle should be here soon, just as Mollie thought this, there was a 'ding!' sound coming from her phone.

It was Kyle. He texted her saying, 'I'm outside your house.'

Mollie replied saying, 'alright, wait a while.' She then switched off her phone screen.

After this, she walked downstairs into the living room. In the room was her mother and father...

She hesitantly walked closer to them and cleared her throat, 'hello...'

Her father also cleared his throat and said, 'oh hello darling, you look nice today... Well not that you don't every other day.'

'What's up?' her mother softly interrupted.

'Mum, dad,' all the confidence Mollie had before had now all vanished, 'I have to talk to you about something.'

Her mum nodded. Seeing this, Mollie looked down feeling ashamed of betraying her parents.

'Well, I don't know what came to me but...' she said slowly, worried she would come across rudely, 'I've fallen in love with someone.'

Her mum and dad looked at eachother, and after a few moments, they nodded to eachother and her mother smiled turning her head back to Mollie, 'listen, I know we have taught you to get school over with and then look for love. But darling, it's very hard to do that these days. Young love is very common, you know?'

Mollie felt a slight bit of the weight of guilt lift off of her. Her mother then continued saying, 'we will no longer stop you from doing this as we care about you. Besides, it is a good thing to date when young. So dear, who is this lucky man?'

Mollie said, 'before I reply, I need to tell you something else first.'

'Okay.' her parents both agreed.

Mollie could feel tears falling down her cheeks, 'well... I kinda already made love with him.' her tears started to fall faster and more frequently. She looked down where all she could see was her feet, too scared to look up and see her parents expressions.

Her father got angry and raised his voice, 'how could he? If he forced you into doing this, you must tell us now! I will kill him!'

Mollie looked up, shocked. She thought that they would be angry at her, but instead they were angry at Kyle assuming that he had forced her into it.

Her mother eyed her father meaning for him to shut up and to let her deal with this. 'sweetie, was it forced or did you really want it? I won't get angry with you either way as long as you tell me the truth.'

Mollie shook her head and said, 'no, of course it was not forced. I would have told you ages ago when it had happened if that were the case!'

'Ages ago? Just how long ago was this?' her dad got extremely mad that she had only just told them now.

'Two weeks ago,' Mollie answered, 'but I'm in love with him, I asked for it and he eventually agreed because he knew I was sure. And I do not regret it at all!'

'Mollie, why did you choose to tell us?' Her mother was curious and had also guessed why, 'are you pregnant?'
