Chapter 3: The Foreseeable Future

After a decent sleep, Johann woke up to Satan's little marching band parade, that, as he found out later, tended to come by every morning making obnoxiously loud screeching sounds at the butt crack of dawn. Of course, being in hell, there wasn't any way to tell what time it was or where the sun was positioned, so who knew if it was dawn or dusk? The band consisted of a buck tooth one eyed pirate wearing mostly black and the stereotypical tights of white and black stripes, whom which was playing the accordion albeit, very badly, A little drummer girl with black hair, red eyes, and sharp jagged teeth pitter pattering piercing paradiddles, and finally a lanky guy sporting a bushy black beard blasting a harmonica. This was all to the tune of chopsticks, which they failed miserably at getting the harmony and melody together. Johann wanted to shove that accordian down a toilet stomping it with his foot, and see the pirate play it when it was water logged. He was sure that it would sound the same. It MUST of been some kind of torture for the musicians (if they could even call themselves that) and the occupants of the red and blue hall to hear this little marching band play.

Not long after the little annoying marching band passed Johann's room, the same minion that he had met the previous day (or night) rapped on his door.

"Hello, Mr. Johann?"

"Ah, yes?"

"I've got a letter from Lord Satan himself addressed to you."

"Oh, alright, let me open up."

The room had many locks on the inside of the door. About ten, one with a combination (he had memorized the previous day), and a vocal command one (for some reason they had technology in hell). It took fifteen minutes to unlock everything. By the time Johann was done the demon was frustrated.

"Why put so many locks on one door, Mr. Johann?" The demon was gritting his teeth.

"I don't know, they were just there so I felt maybe it'd be safer to lock them all."

"Very true, I suppose in hell you could expect anything, huh?" He smiled wide, his teeth sharper than anything Johann had seen so far. "Anyways, here you are."

He handed him a crimson envelope with three scrapes in a horizontal direction, as if Satan himself scratched it with his incredibly long and serrated nails. All in which was very bizarre but maybe it was to be expected from the King.

Johann opened it up.

The message merely said:

- Meet me in the twentieth room in the red hall. We shall train. Shred the letter as soon as you get it, and come to the room right away.

Satan.

It had become time for Johann to learn more about his past, or just his true powers, again, apparently.

Johann had no idea how to get back to the red hall, he had walked through another portal to get to his living quarters, and didn't have minion he met to guide him to there. So he had to improvise. He went around knocking on several doors, which was dangerous, considering where he was, but he didn't seem to have a problem with taking a risk.

Most doors weren't opened and some of the demons/paying human souls answer with "GO AWAY IT ISN'T TIME FOR TORTURE." He wasn't sure if it meant that they were the ones being tortured or doing the torture, but it didn't seem like something he wanted to even be a part of, so he crossed his fingers that the next door he came to would have a guide for him within.

He had walked a long while down the hallway of the living quarters, and eventually found a door labeled "You need help right? Knock here." It had a place for a silly little picture of a fist on the upper end of the door.

Johann did what it said. Knocking. He knocked three times just like any ordinary person would. He waited several minutes. He knocked three times again and again. Eventually a person from the other side of the door responded.

"Please knock four times, we only can accept your entrance and to help you by you doing as we say." A little squeaky voice talks.

Johann wondered why four? He guessed maybe they were all Obsessive and compulsive. He did as they wanted.

The door creaked. Johann went in, and it shut behind him. A midget man of only three feet high with big feet, a large crooked nose, emerald eyes, and a spectacle looked up at him.

"Yes? What do you need?" He asked in a curious tone.

"Oh right." Johann was too busy staring at the odd little man's puff of hair the shade of the pacific ocean. It was twirled in a beehive way. Johann wasn't sure why a man that lived in hell was wearing a woman's sixties hair style, but he guessed that anything went there.

"Yes?"

"I need to find out where the red hall is? I can't seem to figure where anything is here, and no one has been helping me or giving me a chance."

"Oh yes. Well you came to the right place. I can show you where it is. I'll even come with you. If you can do as I say." The little man took Johann by the hand. Which was kind of creepy for him.

"I can take you there." The little man lead Johann into another room hidden behind a small door. Johann had to squat and walk like a crab through the door. They walked into the little room and eventually arrived at an elevator.

"Alright. We're to THE elevator that takes us to THE red hall THAT you wanted to go to."

"Yes."

"Yes, now the instructions." The little man nodded. "You have to jump four times, and spin around four times, saying your name four times for me to open the elevator, it's my greatest pleasure and my payment to help you get to your destination." Embarrassingly enough, Johann did what the guy asked of him.

He jumped up and down four times. He spinned in a clockwise fashion four times. He yelled his name four times.

"Fantastic." The midget smiled, his teeth wide and sharp as Satan's minion's teeth.

He pressed the black and red button, one of ten, all different combinations of colors, all probably for all the different 'hallways' of the realm.

He ended up in the red Hall. The little man bowed, and said:

"If you need anymore help you know where to find me, in my help room." He smiled, and the elevator closed.

-----

Johann finally arrived to his destination after all the kerfuffle of trying to find it. The twentieth door. The room consisted of many tables, and a throne. The tables mostly were round, and oak, with a big crystal ball near each and every chair.

Johann walked up to what appeared to be Satan and his woman, Lilith. Who were both sitting on their throne. Lilith sitting on Satan's lap.

"Jesus what took you so long? I've waited two hours since my message came out."

"Oh honey, why are saying that man's name? I thought you sent him to eternal damnation." Lilith slivers.

"Right, I guess I forgot, maybe that brief period of time I spent on earth a little while back caused me to pick up some of the curse words they tend to spew." Johann stared at the demon king.

"Ehem. Anyways, what did take you so long?"

"Well, no one sent me any instructions on how to get to the red hall. So, I basically knocked on twenty doors, and eventually found the help door. The person on the other side HAD to have four knocks, and led me around to doing things in precise fashions making me incredibly late to this meeting of ours."

"The demon that delivered my message, my servant, my minion, was supposed to bring you here. Did you do something to piss him off? I guess you must of."

Johann face palmed.

"He did look pretty aggravated after I spent the time to unlock ALL my locks."

"That's very interesting that you'd put all ten locks into place. The old you wouldn't lock more than the combination lock that would of been easily knocked down had someone wanted in. You're really different than before. But, I know you have to be our Amon."

"Yes he has to be." Lilith joined in again.

"Yeah... Anyways, what did you want to teach me?" Johann had a rough day so far and wasn't interested in learning anything, but he was going to at least try for the sake of the king.

"How to see into the future again, and tell me what I need to know." Satan stared hard at his son.

"Right... I guess i'll just need to go with the flow?"

"Very much so, the mind is a river, and the future is foreseeable." Satan looked into Johann's eyes searching for something. Only Satan knew what.

Author's note: Chopsticks is very easy to learn for any instrument, and Paradiddle is a word for a way of drumming, like hitting RLRR.
