Chapter 13: Entrance Exam Part 3
Leaping through the battle center towards the shaking, I was planning on taking out the Zero Pointer. During the exam I had already confirmed that my Shadow Imitation would work on robots.
I wasn't sure at first due to how the technique worked, according to the scroll I read shadows actually contain a portion of a persons soul. And the Shadow Imitation Technique works by controlling the part of the users soul that's in the shadow and connecting it to your opponents shadow and by extension their soul.
So by that logic I wouldn't be able to control robots but, to my surprise I actually could! Maybe their A.I. was actually a primitive form of a soul? Whatever, I decided not to question it and just be happy that it worked.
As I approached the robot I saw that everyone was fleeing from it and no one was in any danger unlike in the story. Since everyone was clear of the robot it seemed like a good time to take it down. I sat down on the edge of a roof and observed it for a moment to think about the best way to do this.
If I was using my full abilities taking the robot out would be cake but, since I was holding back it would be a bit more difficult.
Coming up with a plan I leapt down from the building and appeared next to it's feet. Connecting our shadows the robot halted and struggled to move, it's huge size alone making it far more difficult to control compared to the other robots. Though it still wasn't enough to escape from my technique.
Slowly turning the side I watched as the giant robot copied me.
Once it was in place I bowed my head back and forth, I probably would have looked stupid if anyone was paying attention to me. But, everyone who was nearby was stunned by the sight of the giant robot repeatedly bashing it's head into a building. By the tenth time it's face was mashed to pieces and nearly unrecognizable.
I released my technique and it lifelessly fell backwards onto the street.
Everything was silent for a moment before an airhorn sounded in the distance and Present Mic shouted out that the exam was over.
I walked away from the giant robot as everyone who saw what happened got out of my way.

"So what do we think of this years batch" Nezu asked with his fingers crossed and a slight smirk on his face?
"There seems to be a few kids with interesting Quirks" Vlad answered.
"Yes, not to mention that I saw quite a few acts of heroism during the exam more than normal anyway" No.13 added.
"Yeah, there were definitely some future rockstars out there" Present Mic screamed!
"I didn't see anything of note" Eraser Head scoffed.
"Really not even the kid who took out the zero pointer" Nezu wondered?
"Humpf, he may have power but, I can tell a showboat when I see one."
"What do you mean" Ectoplasm asked?
"You can see it in his eyes he never took any of this seriously."
"I was more interested in his cute ears" Midnight licked her lips.
"But, he got the highest score didn't he" No.13 questioned?
"Not if you count Rescue Points" Power Loader pointed out "he may have gotten the most Combat Points but, he never helped anyone during the entire exam. Even when he stopped halfway through and just watched the other applicants."
"See he's cocky" Eraser Head stated.
"Maybe but, you have to abmit he has potential" Vlad countered "Its not that uncommon for people with powerful Quirks to be a bit full of themselves that doesn't mean he's a bad person."
"Still I have to wonder how high a score he could have gotten if he didn't quit halfway through" Hound Dog wondered?
"He might have even have gotten close to All Might's old record" Snipe added.
"Even then a score of 85 isn't anything to scoff at" Vlad said.
"Excuse me" Nezu felt the need to interupted with a mad grin on his face making everyone nervous because that was never good "but, it seems to me that you haven't been paying as much attention to exams as you should have."
"What are you implying" Eraser Head glared at him?
Nezu's grin became even wider "Mr.Iga didn't score zero rescue points."
"Impossible" Eraser Head smacked the table "I had my eye on him the entire time!"
"Yeah" MIdnight agreed "he was a cutie so I watched him alot too and didn't see him save anyone."
Nezu started silently giggling which slowly turned into a monstrous cackle "that's what makes it so amazing! He did all of that without any of you realizing!"
"Explain rat" Eraser Head snarled angry at the fact that he might have missed something.
Nezu giggled again "Eraser Head while you may have been carefully observing him the entire time that is also the exact reason why you didn't see him saving anyone."
Eraser Head narrowed his eyes as Nezu rewound the footage it showed Isao dodging a robots missiles by roling out of the way.
"I don't see anything" Hound Dog scratched his head with everyone else agreeing.
Nezu cackled and changed the footage to show another applicant fighting a one pointer he was backed into a corner and the robot was about to hit him with a devistating punch, the kids eyes were wide with fear not knowing what to do. But, suddenly he dodge under the punch before using his Quirk to take it out.
Eraser Head's eye widened in shock.
"So you saw it did you Aizawa" Nezu grinned.
"Saw what" No.13 wondered?"
"Look carefully at how he dodged that punch" Nezu replayed the footage.
Realization dawned on a few of the more observant teachers faces.
"Still havent noticed then how about this" Nezu switched to a different camera angle.
The video showed both Isao and the student fighting their robots in the same street when suddenly both dodged at the exact same time.
"T-that's crazy" Midnight exclamed!
"Their dance moves are exacty the same" Present Mic was shocked!
"How did he even know that person was in trouble he's facing the complete opposite direction" No. 13 wondered?
Nezu started shaking "look at the building he's facing."
The camera angle changed again and showed the other kid's reflection in the buildings window right in Isao's line of sight.
"We might have a monster on our hands" Power Loader grumbled.
"Not just might, we 'definitely' have a monster on our hands" Nezu changed the screen a final time. "You all know Rumi Usagiyama right?"
"Miruko, huh" Midnight said "she's a bit rough but, is definitely skilled."
"She recently broke into the top 10 too didn't she" Vlad wondered "but, what does she have to do with anything?"
"This is footage from 5 years ago when Rumi was still a student here" Nezu pointed to the screen.
Everyone watched as Nezu explained the circumstances of the exercise and how Rumi had gone off on her own and launched to the top of the building.
"Isn't that" Midnight's eyes widened as a familiar blue haired cat showed up as the hostage.
"Keep watching" Nezu silenced her.
They watched in awe as the 11 year old boy went toe to toe with the younger version of one of the greatest Heroes in japan. And there were audible gasps as Isao jumped from the window with his makeshift grappling hook. As the video ended the conferance room was silent.
