Chapter 3: Love at First Fight
"Whatcha doing nerd? Sitting by yourself again?" Their leader, Amy says. "Why do you even bother coming to lunch when you know you have some business of ours to be handling that you didn't get done?" Patricia, one of the other girls says. "I'll do it and give it to you guys after I finish eating. I promise" Emily says quietly.
"Did you just tell me what you're going to do?" Amy says before putting her hand up to slap Emily. An odd noise whips through the air and Amy flies into the wall. Emily look around and see a blue blur, just like the one she had seen this morning, whip around the lunch room and hold Amy against the wall, clinging on to her throat.
"Y-You're a robot!" Emily exclaims. The robot doesn't break eye contact with Amy as he grips tighter. Patricia and Sarah back away slowly as Amy struggles. "G-get... the... h-hell... off... of.. me!" She says through short breaths. The robot let's go and Amy falls to the floor. She runs away at a pace Emily had never seen her run before.
"Hello friend!" The robot says. "I saw you were in trouble and came to help." a smiley face appears on his facial screen. "It was nothing. But thank you." Emily says in a shy voice. "No problem. My name is Kaine, and you're quite welcome!" He says before he sits down.
"I'm new here, but I've already been accelerated to Junior because of my high scores in the academic tests." Kaine says happily. "That's pretty cool. My name is Emily." She says as she holds her hand out. Kaine shakes it and says: "I can tell we're going to be best friends." And just like that, Emily fell in love
