Chapter 29: Where Are You?
As Luna was busy tangling and untangling the gold sun and moon pendant attached to the necklace that the old woman gave her, her mind was wondering off into utter chaos where her mind was filled with Lorenzo. Even though she was now residing in Marco's huge mansion she always felt lonely, even when she didn't want to.
She kept on thinking about Lorenzo, his warm touch, his bright smile, his nonsensical jokes, and his love filled gazes. She pondered if her decision of packing and suddenly just leaving him was right. Should I have listened to his explanation first? Was my pride too big to go to Lorenzo and hug him tightly and say that I missed him to death?
As much as she tried to go strong and deny her blooming feelings for the man she called her husband, the fear of him leaving her for another woman pained her more.
Luna was restless thinking during the warm day and merciless cold night. When she decides to go for it, the scene of watching "Alex" moan and kiss Lorenzo profusely always made her take a step back.
It had already been a week but Luna never came to her office or apartment because of her impending fear that when she would finally see Lorenzo again she wouldn't be able control herself and just immediately jump back into his strong, muscular, and missable arms. But being smart when it comes to love is impossible.
All Luna could do was to think long and hard about her next move. Her life suddenly stood in a annoying and lonely stand-still. Everything was just a mess to her. She had forgotten to contact her private investigator for the files she was asking for, she had let go of a good photoshoot because she couldn't get out of bed, she had missed all her meetings with her new clients.
Luna was helplessly hopeless that even Gabi or Marco couldn't convince her to get up.
On the another point, Luna had gotten a new best friend. Who was no other than Marco himself. The poor guy had been a servant ever since Luna came to live in his house. But even though Luna's condition was getting out of control Gabi and Marco had decided to remove Lorenzo from the picture of possible solutions. That man had "trouble" written all over him.
If Marco was Lorenzo he wouldn't have cheated on Luna with some sl*t named Alex. Looking at Luna's current state, Marco had already wished countless times that Luna could just have been given to him. But fate has funny ways in choosing partners for people and unfortunately, Marco was not chosen for her.
MEANWHILE, IN WALTERS INC.
"Are you sure she's not just hiding there?! It's been a week already where could she possibly be?!" Lorenzo had been constantly coming there everyday. Every morning, lunch break, and even at night. The guards where getting annoyed by the man constantly looking for their boss when their boss hasn't been coming to work for the past week! Even the receptionists were all tired of talking to him. Everybody kept on telling him that they don't know but the man just kept on coming back. Though the man looked respectable and handsome, the guy was just a pain in the @ss! Even though they wanted to help Lorenzo who had grew giant eye bags under his eyes and had unshaved facial hair all over his face, they just really wanted him out of the building premises as he was becoming disruptive to their work.
So with their last string of patience, the guards dragged him out while his assistant kept on trying to remove their grip on his boss but to no avail.
Assisting his boss up, the poor assistant was feeling bad for his boss. The boss was all smiles before his trip but when he came back, he was turned into a zombie like person. Little to no proposals were passed, while all the women in the office were weeping when they came from the Boss' office and while all the men were as terrified to death on even saying his name out loud.
Everyday Lorenzo would leave his office to come here just to patiently wait for his wife, but every single time she was still not present. The people would usually just tell him off but today they even dragged him out. Oh how he wished he had never let Alex in their room. He honestly thought it was Luna but when he opened the door to welcome Luna in, it turned out to be Alex!
At first Alex just said she wanted to catch up again just like the other day because their conversation then was cut short when Lorenzo had to take an important phone call. So when they were talking, Lorenzo was then able to shared about his life and said that he had already married the girl of his dreams. Hearing no reply from Alex, Lorenzo looked up from his laptop and he was shocked to be forcibly pushed on the bed and to be continuously be kissed on the lips.
Being shocked by what was happening, Lorenzo wasn't able to react in time when the door was opened and a gush of outside wind blew in the room. A plate of food fell while a loud gasped was heard.
Looking at the direction of the sound, Lorenzo saw Luna looking at them with visible pain in her eyes. Seeing his wife about to crying made him awaken from his daze and realize what was happening and immediately pushed Alex away, but it was too late.
His wife had already started to run and he could do nothing but feel inraged that he turned to Alex who had fell off the bed when he pushed her off him.
Facing Alex and strutting towards her, he gripped her jaw tightly glaring into her terrified eyes. "What the f*ck did you try to do?! You saw what you did?! If I ever see your face again I swear you'll breathe your last breath! Be thankful that I don't hit girls or you'd be good as dead by now!"
Releasing his grip on her jaw, his hands leaving an imprint on her jaw. He pushed her away as he went out to search for Luna. Argh!!!! Ruffling his hair in annoyance he could not contain his anger any longer and punched the wall so hard that it made a slight dent on the concrete.
He rushed ran to the direction she ran to and asked the locals there if they had seen his wife by showing them a recently stolen picture of her but all of them just glared at him and shooed him away.
Not understanding their cold and unexpected hostility to him, he tried to go to the police but the police said the best thing he could do was to just wait for Luna in their room.
He waited all night long if Luna was going to come back, but she did not. When she finally did she was went straight to pack her bags and leave him. He knew he had messed up but he tried to explain his side before Luna slapped him. The slap itself stung but the words she said after it stung more.
He knew that Luna only had one boyfriend all her life and that their relationship didn't end well. He also knew that the guy schemed and used Luna for his own benefits, which most likely scarred her badly. To be compared to a guy who was as bad as that crushed Lorenzo's heart. He wasn't perfect but he would never intentionally hurt his wife but he ended up doing the one thing she asked him not to do and it pained him to see his wife's pain.
Where are you now my love? Lorenzo was ready to pay for his wrong doings it's just that Luna wasn't around for him to tell her his explanation. He wouldn't mind if she would curse him to the depths of hell but he would have at least been able to ask for forgiveness because he would rather die than be forever hated by his wife.
