Chapter 3: Introduction
But how could Shastri outrun the cops? He was soon caught and pinned to the ground. Just when he was about to get hit there came an authoritative voice...
"Stop"
Hearing the voice,all the sticks and fists which went up stopped abruptly.
"Why did you want to hit him?", the authoritative voice continued. Soon the owner of the authoritative voice came into view.
He was a average fat person with medium height. The mustache was curved up, inclining he was the fan of films. He looked as though he was saving a beauty from the hands of thugs.One of the cops hurriedly explained,"Sir, we heard your voice and immediately saw him running,so we thought that he was an suspect."
"SUSPECT. Do you who are you considering SUSPECT as?" as the fat person continued the cops who apprehended shastri began to look at him in puzzled expression. Some even came close enough to study his face, trying to remember whether his face was in the suspect list of police station.
"Vaidyanatha Shastri....", the fat man said to the surrounding cops "is his name, but he is also known by other name....",he almost whispered ,"Garudaaa".
Suddenly one of the cops whispered excitedly," Do you mean THE Garuda? The one who solved the Bagenhalli hostel Murder Cases?".Suddenly there was murmur between the cops and they all looked at shastri with reverance.
"Yeah, he is the one. But that was not the only case he has solved. He has solved many other cases", the fat man began whispering as though he was introducing the chief guest during the school day.
"Ok, Viraj....while you are at it just give them my mothers name, fathers name, date of birth,my ambitions, my goals and any other information also" shastri said. Seeing that Shastri was annoyed Viraj, the fat police officer stopped his ranting and told the cops to go on with their investigation.
"Hey bro, I was just telling them about your greatness. Then, how come you are here? Are you in a vacation or investigation?", Viraj began to pester him continuously.
Shastri stared at him seriously. Infact he wanted to leave the place without any noise but was pushed into limelight by this man. But eventhough shastri felt annoyed he could not scold viraj as he was a annoyingly friendly man. More than that he was a fan of Shastri. So even though feeling annoyed Shastri answered him.
" I was feeling bored with the work there. Because of that I came here to take a vacation", Shastri said.
" Ok then. Meanwhile, as you are here can you help me with this case?"
"No. As I am on vacation I will not be involved in this case." Shastri declared.
"Then.... can you please help me if something comes up in this case?" asked viraj pitifully.
"Ok. But you have to investigate it thoroughly and only come to me as the last resort." said Shastri.Then without waiting for his reply he began walking toward his home.
"I will come if I have any doubt", Viraj shouted. When he turned around he saw that the assistant cops were staring at him. Feeling flustered, Viraj yelled "Has the investigation been completed? Why are you all staring at me. I require all the results of investigation today in my table."
The constables suddenly turned around and began investigating. Feeling pleased with himself Viraj walked to the place of accident while humming a tune. But his face changed as soon as he came to the place of accident.
Meanwhile, Shastri began to think how he should go home and face his mother.
