Chapter 3: Chromer
Sigmund and the twins were walking towards the school and saw numerous students wearing the same uniform pass by. Many of which were flying up in the air, others were riding floating inanimate objects, some were moving so fast that they were just a gust of wind. There were many more examples of students using their supernatural powers to commute to school. Some were like Sigmund and twins simply walking casually, while others were being escorted by car.
All of these students were aspiring hunters or police officers. When Yuuki saw this he was getting excited, Mirai clenched her fist as she was feeling a bit excited as well. Sigmund, on the other hand, had unconsciously smiled for a second and immediately went back to his neutral look.
The school was located at the center of district seven one of the fifty districts in the Dome, this district was governed by Evangeline Samarita one of the two wives of Alexander Samarita the head of the Hunters Organization. Due to the near extinction of humanity and the disproportionate ratio of men to women which was now 1:12, polygamy has been approved by the government. This was to battle the declining population of humanity which was slowly dwindling every year after the Change.

It took Sigmund and the twins twelve minutest to reach the school gates. The school they were attending was called Chromer. It was named after the former school the members of the Mercenary Club attended.
The Mercenary Club was a club created by an extraordinary group of eight people. Each member of this small elite group of people has great influence in the new world.

Among the fifty specialized schools, Chromer was among the top ten. One of the reasons why it was so strong as a school for hunters was because of its principal. The principal of Chromer was Lilitth Samarita, the younger sibling of Alexander Samarita and the youngest Hunter to received an S rank. After gaining the highest rank possible for a hunter Lilitth retired as a hunter at the age of twenty-three and became the principal of Chromer.
With her as the principal of Chromer, the school had prestige like no other.

As Sigmund's group entered through the front gate of the school the surrounding students started staring at them. This was pretty normal since the three were truly good looking. Still, Yuuki and Mirai got most of the attention seeing as their whole family was famous and they have been on T.V shows a bunch of times.
Though Sigmund's family was equally famous he has never been shown in any social media outlets. On the other hand, his mother and late father have been seen in numerous documentaries and shows. Their love story has even been made into a movie that was played by Lyner's disciple Niel. His name was only mentioned one time in a news article as a disgrace to the Resteti family name.
While the group was moving towards the auditorium Sigmund heard the whispering of the students.
"Aren't those the Samarita twins?"
"Yeah, there the younger siblings of the Principal."
"I wonder who's the guy they're talking to?"
"Wow, the three of them look like models."
"Hey don't you think that guy looks oddly familiar?"
"Now that you mention it, he does look very familiar..."
Sigmund could pretty much hear what they were whispering as he and the other two entered the auditorium.

After waiting for a few minutes most of the first-year students have gathered in the auditorium. The opening ceremony started and as the students were chatting with the person beside them, everyone turned quiet when they saw the person standing on the stage.
The person who was on stage was a beautiful woman with flowing long black hair. Her eyes had different colors one shined blue while the other was gold. She was wearing a tight fitted white long sleeve shirt that made the curves on her body more visible. She also wore black pants, grey gloves, and brown combat boots.
Her beauty was otherworldly which attracted everyone's attention. The whole student body was excited when they saw this otherworldly beauty, not only because of her bewitching good looks but also for the fact that she was the famous principal of the school, Lilitth Samarita.
"Good morning students, I'm your principal Lilitth Samarita. I can see that you are all excited and ready to take your first steps into becoming brave hunters or respectable police officers. I'm happy to see that determination in each of you. Well, I guess that is to be expected as you new students are among the best of the best this district has to offer and are the future hope of humanity. So then-"
Lilitth's speech was quite long but unlike normal schools were some students would sleep and would get bored with the principal's speech. No one even looked away while Lilitth was talking. Everyone's attention was on her from start to finish.
"It is my honor to welcome you all to Chromer hunters academy. I hope that one day you would reach greater heights than even my brother Alexander Samarita. I expect great things from all of you." After Lilitth gave her speech the people present applauded and the male students applauded harder.
"Thank you for the rousing speech Principal Lilitth. Now a word from the overall top scorer of the freshmen, Ms. Ria Valeir." The next one to step forward to the podium was another beauty. She had relatively short blond hair that barely reached her shoulders. Though she was no match for Lilitth's otherworldly looks, she was still above average. Also unlike Lilitth, her assets were abundant.
The girl called Ria looked at the stunned student body with a cold glare.
"I tied with another in the written exam. In the practical exam, I was only ranked second. While in the ability testing I was ranked first. In the end, I can not accept being called the top scorer as long as I haven't beaten that person who got first in the practical exam."
After saying her piece Ria stepped down from the podium and the freshmen started chatting with each other in whispers.
"Hey isn't that the infamous Witch of Elyria middle school?"
"There's actually someone among the freshmen here that could actually beat her score in the practical exam... Who could it be?"
"Maybe it's one of the Samarita twins."
"It could be that guy, Roland."
"Oh, that's right he also entered this school, and he's powerful enough that it could truly be him."
While everyone was trying to guess who got a higher score than Ria in the practical exam, Sigmund noticed that Ria was looking at his direction. To be more specific she was looking at the twins who were sitting beside him. It was obvious that like all the other students she thought that it was one of the twins that beat her score. It was at that moment Sigmund felt some killing intent directed at him coming from behind.
He instinctively touched his gun and looked at the direction where he felt the killing intent. He then saw a fellow freshman glaring at him and then immediately looked away.
"Is everything alright?" Yuuki asked looking a bit worried as he saw Sigmund's hand on his gun.
"It's nothing," Sigmund answered while shrugging his shoulders.

lynerparel Okay so from the start I already put it out there, polygamy is alright in this world. So you guys know what that means there is a harem. So if you detest harems then I'm sorry to say that you might not like this novel. Though the harem wouldn't be established quickly since romance in this novel is only secondary.
Also, I know this is already a cliche setting, but it's a setting that I like.
