Chapter 44: Waiting for her
The principal was sitting on his chair on the one side of the table, on the other end parents of five students were sitting with different expressions on their faces. Samuel was sitting with full anger on his face, beside him jasmine was sitting with a pale and worried face thinking about her daughter. Vivi was admitted in the college health care center and Inir is with her, watching her condition not ready to leave her alone until she get consciousness. Jasmine said she can watch over but Inir insisted staying with her, so as parents they went to meet the college management and get the issue solved.
Stephen's parents were sitting at the other end from Samuel, between them parents of the other three boys were sitting. Stephen's parents didn't looked like they cared about this incident at all, rather they were annoyed for wasting their time. But the other three parents were both disappointed with their boys as well as anxious due to Samuel's angry.
Even though Samuel is only a government employee, he has another identity of a real estate king. As he was putting all his time and energy on his career development after the incident years back, he has grown a lot over the years and holds a very prominent position in the society. He is one of the important faces in the town. It is not easy to become important person without any power behind him. The parents of the three boys know this very well. They are from humble family background, but Stephen's parents are from other city and they didn't have any idea about the Samuel's identity. They also don't know that the person they are searching for to solve the problem for their ancestral land was Samuel.
Stephen's father started, "What is the biggest issues here?, it is just normal at this age for students to get attracted towards their opposite sex. They are still learning. When they grow up they will learn what is right and what is wrong. Isn't that why we are sending them to study. Why make a biggie out of nothing"
The mother continued, "It's not like my son didn't get affected. Did you see his condition? His face is fully damaged. Who will take care of him? If that girl did not like him, she should have said so, why would she get a thug to hit him like that? My poor son" But she did not even feel sorry for her son.
Samuel's patience reached its peak, he got up and was ready to punch the boy's father. But the other people in the controlled him, more like tried to control him. But the he is not ready to stop.
Samuel was very angered not only with their words but rather with their attitude. He pointed at the boy's mother and shouted " I will send my boys to you. You will lie in a position worse than my daughter, then I will see what your family have to say for that".
Stephen's mother's face paled at his words, she understood, this girl's parents are not their usual victim's family. This is not the first time for Stephen. But this is the first time he got attacked back and the issue escalated this much. Even the other boys parents and college management looked like they did not want to make enemy with this man. 'Who could it be?' she was alarmed a little.
Samuel was more disappointed than angry. He was first disappointed on himself, since Vivi was a child, he loved her more than anything in this world, but he was never there for her whenever she needed him. As a father he felt it is his responsibility to protect his daughters from any harm and give them their own safe haven. But he could not do it for either of his daughters. Next he was disappointed on the people sitting in the same room. No one was concerned about the girl who was a victim here. The ignorant ones were full of themselves like Stephen's parents. Others were only afraid of him because of his position. What if he was not in his position? There will be other girls who doesn't have a father or a family like them, who could be an easy prey for people like these animals. Even the principal sitting here was only afraid because of Samuel not concerned about a student. He really wanted to teach these people a lesson. He immediately called for the cops. The management wanted to settle this matter between themselves so that their college reputation will not go bad. But he will not let this people free. The principal did not what to do. He tried calling the upper management, after he is only an employee. But what he heard from the other side was shocking him. The management is ready to file the police complaint against the boys themselves. They will also file complaint against the parents of the students for hiding the students' previous criminal records and giving fake papers while admission.
The process of very fast and Stephen's parents did not understand anything until the cops came to arrest them along with Stephen. They were horrified to know that their son has offended a wrong person this time. Still they did not find it them to understand what his son did was wrong and it was their responsibility to teach their son about his wrong doings and set him right, but they have failed themselves as parents.
When cops arrested Stephen and his friends at the health care center of the college, the boys were already awake and were forced inside the police vehicle. They tried to plead with everything to get away from it but with no other choice were sent to the police station.
At the other room of the health care center, Vivi was still asleep, as the medicine Stephen gave her was quite strong. Inir was helpless, as she was lying there motionless. Samuel and Jasmin came to visit Vivi after police took everyone away. Samuel came to bring Inir and his friends along with him to the police station to record their statement. Jasmin will stay with Vivi and take care of her. Inir did not want to leave her, even when the doctor assured him that she is only sleeping and nothing is wrong with her.
Samuel and Inir both wanted to take her to the hospital, but Doctor rejected saying," It is not required, she is absolutely normal. Nothing to worry. She can directly go home once she wakes up. Let her take rest at home if she feels afraid because the incident. Consult with psychiatrist tomorrow for assurance. But physically she is fine".
They also felt it is better if she goes home with them. Also it is better if Jasmin stays with her when Vivi wakes up, as she is more comfortable with her mother.
Inir left with Samuel to the police station to give his statement along with his boys. The police also warned them that it is dangerous to do this kind of activities and it is better to complaint to the elders or management to take action rather than involving themselves with these kind of problems. As Inir was not a student of the college or anyway related to the college and the students he was prohibited from entering the college again. Both Inir and Samuel were not ready to accept this.
Samuel interjected the cops saying, " But Inir was the one who saved my daughter, if not for him, my daughter would not be.." he can't even finish his words and stopped half way. It was the truth. If Inir didn't come on time or if Inir was did not keep an eye on Vivi, no one can say what would have happened. No one was there to rescue her.
But police can not do anything as it is not in their hands to decide. The college authority even though has accepted the students' mistakes, they also cannot accept a stranger coming inside the college and keeping an eye on a student more like stalking her. Even the Girl, Vivi, was not aware of his presence around her.
So without any choice Inir was strictly prohibited from entering the college premises. Also his village boys who helped them were strictly told not to watch over Vivi anymore. Because this will hinder Vivi's privacy. Inir or Samuel was also accepted it. So Vivi has to be on her own from then on.
Inir decided to wait for as per his words. He will wait for her to come to him. He will wait for her to learn, mature and see the world on her own.
