Chapter 2: Martial Mage ch.1
After Alex told the God his wish it, was silent for a moment. It seemed he even surprised the God with this wish. But the God answered shortly „I can fulfill this wish, but are you sure that this is your wish?" Alex didn't even hesitate a second before he answered. „Yes I promised my cat to be always there for him and I will bring this promise into my next life."
The God was shocked, he never expected such a wish. From all the people he reincarnated most would wish for things to make there next life better, but this guy actually wishes to keep his cat in the next life, this was beyond what the God could expect.
The God finally said „very well, I hope you and your cat will be able to have a good life." After hearing those words everything went black for Alex, it felt like he was inside nothingness for ages. But after being in that nothingness for what felt like an eternity, he finally opened his eyes and saw a woman and a man looking at him.
He couldn't understand what they were saying, but from the way they looked at him he could guess those where his new parents. Hours passed and on the same day his new parents found a kitten laying in front of the door. It looked exhausted and hungry and his parents decided to take care of it.
Alex knew of course that this kitten was his old cat Odin. The kitten looked different but he would always recognize those eyes. Years passed and everything went well and at the age of 3 Alex had finally a good grasp of the language in this world. The kitten that was now named „Lucky" quickly became best friends with Alex. At first he wondered that his parents gave him the name Alex, because it was the same as in his last life,but he quickly started to assume that the God was the cause of this.
Another 3 years passed and Alex was 6 years old and was finally able to awaken his spiritual veins or his soul power. In this world Magic existed but only 2 ways to use it existed. One was by being a martial artist and to awaken your spiritual veins, the other was by being a mage and to train to use the power of your soul. But Alex wasn't satisfied with just that, he had a second chance to life so he might as well try to achieve as much as possible.
His aim was to become a martial mage. Most people didn't choose this way because it was way more dangerous and more difficult. To become a martial mage you have to combine your soul force with your spirit veins immediately after they awakened. His parents were first against him becoming a martial mage, because they knew that one of his reasons to choose this way was because his mother was a mage and his father a martial artist. He wanted to make both of them proud, show the world what his family is made out off. After all his family was a commoner family without even the right to have a second name. He hated that people looked down on his family just because they were commoners.
After his parents finally saw how serious he was about becoming a martial mage, they gave in and explained to him everything important. And finally the day of the ceremony came, his parents helped him awaken his spirit veins and his soul power and after 30 minutes of struggle he finally managed to awaken both. It took him another painful 5 hours before he managed to combine his soul power with his spirit veins. After that he meditated to find out with what element he had awoken. And it was ice, he had ice veins and his soul power had also the power of ice. That was very lucky. Having 2 different elements would only slow down the progress of a martial mage or it could even cripple him.
After that he trained together with his parents and managed to break through novice rank after half a year. Novice rank was the first rank on the path of martial artists and mages. And only after reaching it had Alex the right to call himself a martial mage.
His parents were very proud of him. To reach novice rank in half a year wasn't considered very fast, but the story is different if you are a martial mage. And now that he reached novice rank he had the right to join a sect to get further training and reach greater heights. So of course there was now one important thing left for Alex to do, it was to find a sect that allowed disciples to bring there pets with them.
