Chapter 2: Chapter 2: First steps
"Come on guys hurry up. We are gonna get late" shouts Atsushi Ito from the doorsteps as he loads the bag full of different excavating tools and stuffs inside a van. Atsushi Ito, the energetic leader of the ancient rune excavating group is heading out with his group to a new excavating site.
As the members of the group descend down outside the house from their respective rooms. As it was gonna be a long day Atsushi asks one of his fellow members, his best friend with whom he had spent all his childhood, Daichi Saito, to check the upcoming weather so that they could appropriately gear up and complete their task. As all the members get seated in their seats inside the van, one of the member, Akako Tanaka asks "So where are we headed to Atsushi? I look forward for a great excavating site."
As soon as she asks Atsushi the question all the members are eager to find out the site. Atsushi with a excited face and pumped up shouts "THE DAZAIKAWA CITY...we have a lot of mysteries to uncover in that ancient rune that can make us famous." saying that Atsushi started the van. As they get halfway through, they stop in a small motel for dinner. They had chosen the motel as it was near the excavation site.
Akina Takahashi, the most curious member of the group goes to talk to the owner of the motel to extract some information. She asks "So what was around these areas before? Were there any civilization?" curiously. The guy seems hesitated for a while then with a keen face he replies with "Rumors has it that the city was once the home of witches. People who walked through the city were never seen again. As many people started disappearing, the people from cities and villages around got enraged and brought the village to this state. They demolished the houses but as soon as they brought the city to ruins, one by one the villagers and the city people started dying. Was it a plague or curse of the witches nobody knows. Only some survived to tell the tale. But most people consider it hoax."
Excitedly Akina proceeds to ask next question, the guy interrupts her and tells her "That's everything I know. I have nothing more to tell you." As he says that Akina's look in her face changes to a gloomy, sad look and heads towards the group sighing.
As they leave the motel, the guy stops them "Be careful, even if the story of that city is said to be rumor, half part of it can be true..." As soon as he concludes and goes back inside, the group decide to walk to the city as it wasn't too far. They get their bags out from the van and start walking. After 5 to 6 minutes walk, they see the ruins. Excited, the group walk faster towards the ruins.
As they reach the ruins, Atsushi shouts "EXCAVATION BEGINS..." and all head in the city.
