Chapter 26: Chapter Twenty-Six: The Seraph Awakens

As Alice sat on the clouds, Xander walked into Queen Maria's study.

Queen Maria sat at her desk and stared at a letter, speaking of the human empire's capital. "What is it, Xander? I told you I'll be very busy, didn't I?"

Xander smiled. "You sound healthier, Queen Maria. I've come to inform you of something strange I've discovered."

"What is it?"

Xander laid a piece of paper down on the desk as she read what it said in her mind. "What is this, Xander?"

Xander's face turned serious. "Information on an old ally your father made years ago it seems. Apparently, Demon King Lucifer wasn't the first one to begin summoning others."

Maria sighed. "That explains why my Father was so against summoning anyone to help during the war."

Xander nodded. "Ma'am, if this thing is still alive and out there somewhere..."

Maria handed Xander the paper, who quickly stuffed it under his breastplate. "I want you to take a small team to the Savage south if you can, Xander. I can only pray that the Gods will not abandon us to such a cruel fate."

Xander bowed as he left the room. Maria smiled at the door before pulling out a vile of black liquid, injecting it into her arm.

She looked over to a tablet hanging on the wall and read what it said aloud.

"After a Great War, the world will calm as the humans are sent into turmoil. Everyone will rebuild as the humans disappear, and a calamity will befall the world as the Ancients are killed. After a millennia of conflict, the last survivors will band together, and create a new world. One without war. One of peace. Under a single God."

She closed her eyes as she thought about it. 'A Great War, the great human empire in turmoil. I hope this tablet was not written by Fate itself.'

——-

A group of people dressed in black robes all chanted repeatedly in front of an ancient monolithic door.

As they chanted, two figures stood behind them, one with their arms folded.

"Faith, how much longer do you think until Wrath will awaken?" Prudence asked as his deep voice tumbled throughout the long, forsaken hall.

Faith crossed her arms and sighed. "I have no idea. I would say at most it'd take another ten years."

Prudence sighed as he constantly checked around him. "You said that ten years ago. Then ten years before that as well."

Faith shrugged. "Well the first time my niece was born. It could've been a sign that he'd awaken."

"Speaking of your niece, she seems to be alive from reports in the Empire. Apparently she's a Fallen One, and has sent the capital into chaos. Her wings were not only as dark as the Void, but were on fire!"

"A Fallen One could be useful. What of the imperial family?" Faith asked as she focused her gaze on the door.

"Dead, I presume." Prudence suddenly turned around as he felt a gust of wind. "It's happening!"

Suddenly, the chanting stopped as all the robed figures were sucked into the door, before it crumbled away, revealing a bright light behind a floating figure.

He had six large pure white wings, and wore a set of silver armor. On his left hand was a shield, and in his right, a glowing white axe.

As he landed, he fell to one knee before looking up at Faith and Prudence. "I assume you are the latest in the Virtues?"

Faith nodded. "Justice has been waiting a very long time for your return, Wrath."

Wrath stood up and removed his helmet as white hair with pink infused in it fell down his back. "Please, call me Micheal."

As Micheal took a step forward, a barrier around him broke as he froze.

Faith, who began to walk away, turned and stared at him. "Are you alright, Micheal?"

Micheal breathed and smiled calmly for a moment, as an air of happiness surrounded him. "I'm just fine. Tell Justice I'll be running a little late." Suddenly, he out his helmet back on and crashed through the top of the hall as he barreled through the endless night sky.

I'm just a few short seconds, he saw what appeared to be a young woman with burning black wings sitting atop a cloud, staring into the distance.

"Excuse me!" He shouted. As she turned and looked at him, Micheal smiled.

'I've waited so long for this day...'

Alice looked at the strange being and sighed. "Have you come from the Heavens to kill me for being your Goddess' heir?" She 'stood' up as she flew a bit higher, unsheathing her rapier.

Micheal shook his head. "I'm sorry I haven't been able to see you for so long, Alice. The court is a bit complicated. I was even cast out after they discovered we sent you here."

Alice looked closely at the man. His eyes were gold, but had a bit of pink in them as his white and pink hair blew in the wind.

"I'm not shocked you don't recognize me, Alice. It's me. Your Father!"
