Chapter 4: Not a Dream

I awake in the same bed as yesterday. The lights bright and blinding. My body was less sore now, I can move more freely without any pain but my legs were still numb. I look around again to make sure it wasn't a dream.

How naive, I felt pain yet I still thought I was dreaming.

I guess it's because I normally feel pain in my sleep. Waking up with bruises. Later found out my father would hit me even when I slept. The very thought of him made me disgusted "father" I call him. He's no father. He's nothing but a monster. Suddenly the image of the woman popped into my mind. Ah yes, the woman from yesterday.

Apparently she's my mother. She looks nice, I don't think living with her from now on won't be so bad. But I can't be too quick to judge. Guilt flooded over me when I remembered laughing at her and just replying with a simple "ok."

I shouldn't have said that, at the moment I was still shocked and confused. I was still trying to grasp what happened. I shake my head. No, I shouldn't be making excuses, I should've been nicer. I'm now living in her sons body. Awake in a hospital, I have no idea what had happened and I still laughed.

A click of the door catches my attention.

Two people stood at the entrance.
